Yep you right, but I mean because of love all this happen, if he didnt meet Change many of thing will not happen, and I want say male leads also have character grows and developing, but for me main point of their story its love. If A Sun didnt meet Change maybe he all life work for Khan and later for Sher and his mother, maybe he become more cruel and strong Tegin. But its just my thinking)

Im find some interesting about this drama, the story of main female leads (Change and Leyan) about character grows and developing, classic hero's journey, they move from safe environment, have hardships, meet teachers, and in the end become more strong and amazing persons, they also got love on the way, but its not the main point.
While boys story (A Sun and Haodu) are love story)) They both in love in the begging of drama, and because of LOVE they change view of life, become better, and only near the end Change and Leyan respond to their love, as final result of their journey.

Im HaoYan shipper) so as my view, its because they second couple , i mean they have a bit screen time and amazing chemistry (I think if it be other actors they didnt become popular, because they story not something spesial) so you always want more and dont feel satisfied, and as u say have some place for fantasy) similar with BL dramas, where main leads cant openly show feeling, so its more about small details, eyes

Dilbara and Leo individually very popular now, and ranking very high in week popularity ratings (Reba - 2, Leo -3), but as couple HaoYan more popular, they moments from drama always in hot topic, and in CP ranting they number 3 (and only one BG couple in top 10 rating)
