I dropped do you like brahams because of her. There are definitely worst actresses out there so she not terrible…
I understand that point of view - I think it was partially because she was playing such a quiet, self conscious and timid character. I saw her in a Hot Stove League where she played a much more fun, confident and boisterous character and her acting really stood out to me there - so I think it depends on her role.
I'm gonna be honest, I've finished 2 of her romcoms now (the historicals) and it always gets to a point where her acting is beginning to get on my nerves - she's one of those actors that can overact a bit and therefore can be quite loud and shouty. I liked her roles but there were elements of her performance that just aren't my personal taste. So I went into Circle very surprised to see her, it didn't seem like a drama where her style of acting would work, but oh boy did I misjudge her, she is giving such and incredibly beautiful and subtle performance here. I know many people like her rom com acting but personally I want to see her do more serious roles because she actually has the acting ability- honestly I'm blown away by her versatility.
can anyone tell me if there any bromance in this drama??
there's so much bromance and there's also a couple different bromances. If youre looking for literal brothers it is a story about 2 brothers who love each other more than anything, but if youre looking for a friendship bromance- in one of the 2 parts of this drama there's a very sweet integral bickering bromance, the 2 guys couldn't be more different but their hatred turned bromance is very sweet and fun to watch.
Does female lead speak Korean? I have seen Henry speak amazing English and Korean so he is covered
Claire only speaks english, but because it mostly takes place in a fantasy world shes told that although she thinks she's speaking english most characters hear korean (but as a viewer you'll only hear her speak english). So the majority of the characters speak just Korean to her, they'll only speak in English if they are also from the real world (like Justin Chon) or if the they would've learned english in their characters storyline (like the male lead - Joon Park who says he studied in america) - this is way more difficult to explain than it should be.
This has been a good drama with some excellent performances, but I'm glad its ending now, 8 episodes is definitely enough for the story it set out to tell. Enjoyable, dark yet cute with a really interesting female friendship, but I'm ready to see the final episode and finish it now.
It's weird because last year over the course of 100 episodes of Beautiful Love Wonderful Life I completely fell in love with Seol In Ah - her brilliant performance and lovely character were the reason I could make it through all 100 episodes, and now she's playing such a different character (pretty much the opposite) and it's so hard to get my brain to fall out of love with her.
so are the rumours true? that this has also been postponed due to covid? the cast and crews health is obviously the most important thing, but at this rate it seems like for a while the only thai channel filming bls will be gmmtv (they were filming a couple of shows at the height of the virus last year) - at least taiwans stepping up more this year since their numbers are so low.
I love DaeSung. He's honestly too sweet and too pure for this world. I definitely do like the male lead too, he can be very sweet and so I don't want DaeSung to end up with SolYi but his happiness is definitely what matters the most to me in this drama. I also just really like how Yeo Hoe Hyuns playing him I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for his future dramas.
That trailer!!! The production quality of this is so high! Higher than most straight lakorns I've seen. I'm so shocked! This clearly has a ton of money behind it. My expectations have just gone way up - I'm 100% in. I'm so excited now!
I'm not loving this - I think aesthetically it's beautiful and the actors have pretty good chemistry, but I personally find the writing and structuring a mess. I don't really care about any of the characters, they seem either two dimensional, annoying or just jerks. I don't like posting hate and I don't hate this I'm just frustrated that certain aspects are good and others are just terrible.
I'm so torn about watching this film, because I'm dying to watch it, it looks incredible, I also know that I can appreciate and like depressing films, but I'm also slightly terrified of how depressing this will be. So I'm waiting till I feel brave enough...whenever that may be.
I wonder why they can't tell that the Mayors son is some sort of evil spirit - maybe it's cause he's not killed anyone yet! Surely when that's revealed HaNa should get some warnings removed - maybe he's not exactly like Sin but he's definitely something after what Sin said when he saw him.
Although I watched the first 3 episodes the day they each came out, after hearing how sad episode 4 is I decided to take a short break and that short break turned into a couple months. Anyway I finally watched episode 4 and yes I cried for about 45mins straight, but episode 4 also confirmed to me that this is one of the most beautiful dramas I've ever seen (from any country) this has struck such a personal chord with me. I truly can't believe that something like this actually exists. Anyway episode 5 tomorrow- I'm not waiting another month!(Also I just have to say how blown away I am by every aspect of this show, but in the most recent episode (the score and) Billkins acting was what stood out the most, the little quirks and habits he brings to Teh, it's not something I've seen done so well and realistically in a really long time, but it makes Teh feel so real)
i thought they became very famous after this drama, especially Johnny.... Timmy was a singer more than an actor
Timmy only last year spoke quite honestly about his struggles after Addicted (although in the interview they couldn’t mention the name of the drama it was obviously Addicted). He said that he was getting no offers, not even any auditions and that’s why he decided to focus on music more. I’m pretty sure he produced and released his first album himself and it did well because of his fan following from this. They were really famous after this but because of the governments decision production companies didn’t want to hire him. Johnny hasn’t spoken about his experience after the drama, but fans suspect that if that’s was Timmy went through he probably experienced something similar.
It's sweet, it's cute and I like it as an easy watch. I haven't seen the original version yet, but it's on my list and I'm happy people say it's quite different- that means I can enjoy both!
Just realised this is the first Korean BL where I'm not just familiar with the stars but I've looked them up in the past because I've enjoyed their work! Son Woo Hyun was so gorgeous in Touch and I really liked the character he played and Kim Kang Min had quite a large part in Tale of the Nine Tailed that I liked and he was also really good in Hot Stove League - I'm even more excited now!
