i didn't expect to enjoy it this much when i first started it dfkjls. the beginning was pretty average. i watched it as background noise while multitasking for a bit, but without me even realizing it, i got attached to the characters and fell in love with the show at some point. i binged the last half yesterday and it was so worth the watch! DAYS take notes - this is how you write a good fantasy romance.
100% one of the best chinese dramas i’ve ever seen!! chemistry is awesome, it’s so funny, i fell in love with all the characters, and overall just such a well written show. the actors did not disappoint (new fan of liang jie here and ofc i’d trust steven with my life at this point.) also the kisses were just chef’s kiss.
I was multi-tasking when I was watching this drama so I was kinda distracted by some parts, I just finished 2…
there was no written signed contract. she basically signed it when she took his hand at the end of episode 1. he stopped the truck from hitting her and saved her life. in return, she has to wish for the world to end to save herself from dying from cancer. the collateral is her own life bc she will die if she doesn't make the wish. the red bracelet ties her to doom and he'll be able to find her and stop her pain when it comes. hope that helps!
this show was really really good! jang na ra did not disappoint, as usual. i llove shows with a new "story" every episode - they did a different exorcism every episode, so we got to learn about many people's lives and how they found peace. lots of mystic pop up bar vibes, though SYHH is a bit darker. all the exorcism stuff was explained really well and you could easily follow along with the plot, even though the plot was quite complex imo. i'm honestly glad there wasn't any romance, though it was implied (lots of cute scenes between the leads!!), because it allowed the plot to develop to its fullest. it was slow burn and enemies to friends/lovers, both of which are my favorite things, so i enjoyed it a lot. overall, super well developed characters, minimal but super funny comedy at times, and amazing acting from all sides! this was a newer concept imo and they did it so well!
idk why but OSN just wasn’t it for me even though my love JHI was the lead. but ahhh DYLB is one of my favorite shows everrr. the romance sent butterflies and warmth throughout my whole body, i swear. APOYM is another show i really really enjoyed. again, the romance just gets me so bad. i never rewatch anything but i’ve rewatched a couple eps of DYLB. i think that’s the only thing i’ve ever rewatched now that i think about it osoksosk.
True. I also don't like that Shu Yi's father is now shown in some comedy way and no one seem to blame him, like…
i'm not sure how accurate this is, but i do believe shi de tried to reach shu yi for a while and he didn't respond. someone said in the 3rd episode that shu yi entered some sort of 6 month military thing and then decided to go meet shi de in the US after that was over. i'm not entirely sure how often the two of them talked to each other and who was available and unavailable at what time but i do think the miscommunication was both of their faults. i mean shu yi also tried to fight his dad alone while shi de was in the US so i wouldn't immediately say it was just shi de's fault.
