Finally someone who did not like the book, like me!🤣🤣 I read it befor this drama aired and hated it so much…
I read the book last year and didn't really like it. I wanted to read the book before watching the show and the movie. The book put me off watching them for so long. They really added to the story in the show. I still found the characters somewhat annoying at times but it was much better than the book. It's still an important story. Maybe this could mean we'll have more queer Korean stories.

(I added a bit more to the review. I keep adding when I think of something else to say about it, while I digest what I watched lol)

Do you know how many people ask their personal questions to AI these days? Pretty sure they went with it coz it's…
I'm not wasting my time, I'm upholding my values. Yes, I'm one person but I won't shut up because of that. I still speak on it every time I see fit. I won't support actors, directors or stories that rely on genAI in any way, shape or form, it goes against my most basic principles. I am making changes and causing impact in other ways, why do you think I'm automatically prompted to share my disapproval? This is also a part of the fight and a very important part, since the arts are the industry that is being more heavily targeted by the technofascists. Why do you think that is? I will never be ok with this and you can't shut me up. Block me if you want, I don't care.

I can and that's what I'm doing. Not talking about it is normalising it and thus supporting it. Their decision to include that senseless scene did invalidate their whole work in my eyes and I will talk about it and will rate their work accordingly. There is no ethical use of genAI. I won't normalise it a joke or as light entertainment. It's not, and I won't allow propaganda about it to go unchecked.

that's no excuse to talk to a regurgitating machine that is depleting the planet of drinkable water. I will always speak against the use of genAI. I will rate the shows that use it the lowest I can. I won't normalise it.

yes, I know. there's too many second hand thinkers and no critical thinkingat all. yes, deliver all your thoughts to a regurgitating machine created with the scope of surveillance and making you dumb. if the trend is throwing yourself off a bridge will you do it as well?
It also doesn't even align with the character, he's too logical for this, they made him look like an airhead.

Preach. Watching Korean dramas where education is prominent gives me so much anxiety. School life was not easy…
Same! And it's not just the system itself. I was bullied in school but bullying was something marginal. In South Korea, the bullying seems to be on steroids. I don't know how children can be so cruel to such an extent. Now you also have to add the beauty standards pressure. I read somewhere that South Korean children get plastic surgery as young as 14!!!!! And now companies are requiring people meet these insane beauty standards so they get hired. It seems like they just keep adding to their own self-destruction. it's insane to watch.

If this comes out, I'm boycotting. I'm boycotting everything KSH is in and those who decide to work with him. I'm already boycotting Disney because of Palestine. I'll just keep adding to my list.

When I first started watching K dramas, there were a few things that struck me: the hierarchical society, heavy…
It wasn't this bad when I started watching Kdramas. Lately, I have been watching them less and less because of the netflix takeover (they don't make as good stories as they used to) and because of the exaggerated focus on thinness and plastic surgery. I want to see a person and not a model. I want actors who are able to emote through their facial expressions. If I wanted to watch statues, I'd go to a museum. Lately, I can't even watch any Park Min Young dramas anymore. Luckily, there are still a few that are worth it. I finished watching To My Beloved Thief and it was refreshing to see faces that can emote and skin that has texture. You can clearly see when they drop the filter and show the actor's real face. While living in fascism, I don't think it will get much better anytime soon. I just hope the people wake up already.

I have often seen that in K-dramas or even variety shows (dating ones) - that's exactly and the only thing one…
It seems to be a cultural thing but I haven't researched its roots. It's extremely shallow and often not a good indicator of a person's personality, so I don't know how it's still the main thing South Koreans look for in a person. I was ok with just season one. I believe it's close to perfect.

he couldn't even name what made him fall for her. "she's pretty" is such a shallow way of sustaining a marriage. this season doesn't make much sense.

The South Korean education culture makes me feel insane. Children are supposed to learn and not act as prized horses competing for the first place. I'm so sorry for everyone who has to go through such a torturous system. The more I learn about South Korea, the more I feel for the people who aren't born into money. South Korea seems more and more like a capitalist hellscape

this was a good watch; minimal political plotting all the characters were good.
you have a literal revolution of the people. How's that minimal political plotting?

First they are acting wonderfully in this. Second How are you watching any bl gl then? ALL of them have their…
I am struggling with all the new ones, even with some kdramas and I can't even pick up any Cdramas. I can't with all the filters, the skin whitening, the extreme thinness. I can't even watch any more Park Min Young dramas. This is all so damaging for the new generations that have these ridiculous beauty standards fed to them in such an aggressive way. It's up to us to stand up and say this isn't right. No, this is not their "personal choice" this is a societal pressure artificially created to control mostly women and we need to lead society in a way that makes women free and not women dolls that need constant change and "improvement" making them anything but human.
So, yeah, I'm watching mostly older shows and I'll keep voicing my opinion on how ridiculous and dangerous these standards are getting until they're abandoned and the women (and queer people and some men) are free

I want to see natural faces, natural expressions. Actors are supposed to emote through their face and body. All the plastic surgery and fillers is too distracting for me.

I'm going to give No Jun Seok's character the benefit of doubt and consider that he didn't tell the girl about…
I would argue that if they were in a different stage of their relationship. She was about to give an important step and she would be even more broken and probably stuck if she hadn't found out first.
