I thought it looked good. Typically the actors have black hair and actresses brown. Like in LIS. The make up dept in TTEOTM must be trying out as many hair variations for TTJ as possible: brown, braided, red highlights (DG), curls(while searching for LSS' soul). What i didnt think look nice was CJM's super long sideburns. Hahaha

When i go back to old dramas ive watched and liked before, they look so plain and low budget, but i know they weren't! TTEOTM is just too visually stimulating

Hahaha yah agree with the part on runyu. The 2Ha book is so much better written I dont think the novels can be compared. Novel TTJ is sick and drama TTJ is tragic and angsty. For the drama CWN, I'm not sure they can make him as tragic as TTJ without the love story. It they made HYX per original storyline, there might be competition. (And we will go crazy) Drama audiences love 美强残 (beautiful/powerful/tragic) characters so LYX is lucky to be able to grab these characters.
I keep thinking how the great general Ye Xiao was a failure of a father. 🤣🤣 His kids left behind at home turned out horrible: YBC (no doubt), original YXW (terror) and good for nothing until the last bit where they try to whitewash his character YZY.. only one that turned out well was YQY
