There's so much angst and suffering and everyone around XQS is dropping dead, including his guard today. I just dont see the couple having a happily ever after after all thats happened. The production seems to be pushing hard for tragedy. However they have also partly deviated from the original story and we will not know until it airs. I will take whatever comes as long as they dont make the plot illogical.
