Im watching this for Esther and the snowboarding theme. Im at the start of episode 5 now. Is this entire drama going to be based on Beishan and the ski slopes or will they return to the city? They seem to be talking a lot about snowboarding lessons and techniques, which i obviously don't mind. But is there much more than what i have seen in these first episodes?

There is no romance between TQ and SCC at first. But from the Fang Jin arc, we slowly see SCC behind FJ's persona. The director is switching between Landi and PuTao more often so we get their development, unlike the SM arc earlier. I will suggest trying up til the "staircase" part. 😉

The drama had an open ending while the novel had a happy ending. While there were many cuts made to fit the series under a limited no of episodes, im not sure the ending was a result of it. Snowboard is called dan ban (single board) while skis are called shuang ban(double board). The verb used is called hua2 xue3 and doesnt differ for the two. Not sure what words the english subs are using cos im not watching that version.

Just finished this drama last night. It was a lovely end to such a good series! This has been the only drama that made me laugh and cry, all in the same episode. There were some crazily romantic scenes and I'm never going to forget how well they shot the rainbow staircase and kiss on the cheek in period costumes. These were amazing and they weren't even a couple yet! It started off a bit rocky in front because of the misunderstandings and over the top humour (which took some getting used to for me). I think most people who dropped it didnt get past episode 8. That's where it started to become really good. It was a roller coaster of emotions and the team knew exactly how to come up with the most unexpected jokes! Initially I was upset with SCC. I thought she took things too far with the way she ended her QST persona but I felt such fear for her when TQ started his investigation. It was a big relief when everything cleared up and they got together. 🥰🥰🥰 The pace was good and no boring bits until... the last 3 episodes. That was when they shifted the story to their company's product and shop. And added the arc on LYs pregnancy which felt out of place and threw the momentum off. Overall, I'm satisfied with how it all turned out and enjoyed this drama immensely. TJC once again impressed the audience with his acting. With all the tonghua and lyf references, i am very thankful this is the happy end she gave XL fans.
