Good overall!

The cast was great. I came for Lee Jae Wook, but the rest of the cast really stole my heart. I think the rest of the cast really fits their role in the drama. The plot and storyline were good but predicable as well. It had a really good beginning and rising action but I dropped it since I really had no motivation and the drama gave me no motivation to finish it. I watched it as it aired and I waited for almost every episode to come out with subtitles until episode 13. This can be dismissible as I also was watching 4 other web dramas and dramas at the same time. If I finished it, it would probably be just for the sake of marking it as "completed."

It's a No-No from me! Cringe-fest

I heard there was a webtoon, but I didn't read it, so this is completely based on (with no comparison) the webdrama. For the story, let's just say the build-up was amazing. I was more interested in the side characters' love story more than the main leads though. The main couple was cringe to the highest level. I don't support toxic masculinity but the way Gong Ju-yeong acts really pisses me off. I loved the friendships but I think the love relationships were just out-of-hand or unnecessary. I feel like they just added that because they knew no one was just going to watch if there were no love interests. Now let's talk about the cast. I watched the first episode and I stayed completely for YoungHoon from the Boyz. I know... I know... Park Jihoon from Wanna One is also there. But his acting just wasn't it for me. Also the female lead, Lee Ruby, had such stiff acting. I mean... she's pretty for sure but the acting just wasn't it. However, for both of the above since I didn't read the webtoon, maybe it's just how the author described the characters Wang Jarim and Gong Juyoung as. I feel like the side characters other than Yang MinJi had pretty good acting. Their characters were hilarious and they fit the role well. Overall, don't recommend unless you can handle extreme cringe.

T-T

Wow... this movie left me shocked. I honestly think that this is one of the best ancient Korean movies I have watched.

The story was immaculate. The development of the characters were done excellently. Though the movie was only two hours, I really liked it because it was like a condensed K-drama. The only problem I have with it is the ending. This whole time I was rooting for a particular guy (not the main character), so I knew I would get disappointed; however, the ending didn't really satisfy me. It was a different ending compared with other movies, so I'll give it credit for that.

Now onto the cast. I came for Park Shin Hye, but stayed for both her and Yoo Yeon Seok. I think they both played their roles perfectly as with everyone else in the cast. The only thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the fact that I couldn't tell Mr. Head Tailor apart from all the old officials other than Pan Soo. And if you look at my drama lists, you should know that I have already watched many ancient korean and chinese dramas so I'm not an amateur when it comes to these things.

Overall, I would RECCOMEND this movie.

Disturbing? Yes. But I just know we're all simping for Sae-byeok.

If I was just going off the title and didn't see the poster, I would be so disturbed by this show that I wouldn't be able to sleep for a few days.

Let's dissect the story. I love how it not only quickly introduces the main character, but also briefly brings up the other few main characters all within the first episode. It is fast-paced, and it brings about a new 'topic' every few episodes -- though not disconnected. The one thing that prevented it from having a 9/10 was the ending. It is the typical Netflix Original ending, as with Love Alarm, Extracurricular, and Vagabond; it gives you that unsettling ending that makes you long for a season 2 or explanation.

Let's now talk about the cast. I didn't really like the main character, but mostly because I couldn't relate with his character. His actor, Lee Jung Jae, did an amazing job portraying his desperation and poorness. As for all the side characters, I think I really fell in love with Sae-byeok and Ha Joon. Sae-byeok's role and her scene with Ji Yeong really made me cry; I always remember scenes and characters that make me cry. As for Ha Joon, I was just always a fan of the actor that played him. Unless there is a season 2, I don't really get the significance of his character at the moment though.

Overall, I would RECCOMEND this drama--but do not watch if you are looking for wholesome or romantic content.

I mean... it's a webdrama

I was rated this a 5.5 on this review. Please note that this is score is from webdramas criteria, and I have not read the webtoon.

Firstly, regarding the story-- I think it was pretty basic but it wasn't a wreck. Like other webdramas, the plot was predictable but really cute. The concept was really innovative and I though it was so cute. It's a really quick binge; it took me about 30 or so minutes to finish the series.

As for the characters, I really liked the role Kwon Hyuk. This character has a funky personality, which I love about him. The other characters were just meh and as expected. As for the actors, I think Jang Mun Ik played his role well. As for the other actors, I actually do have an opinion to share about them. For the character Teacher No, I really feel Oh Hyun Joong just didn't fully "become" his character, as in he didn't really give off the stereotypical "teacher" vibes which is an essential to this webdrama. Park Chae Rin's acting was just fine-- nothing too special but not bad at all. As for Park Jae Chan's acting, I just got really mixed signals from his character Park Bo Hyun. Since it's just a webdrama, I would assume that his character setup wasn't that complicated--which concludes that Park Jae Chan was just NOT communicating his role well.

Overall, do NOT recommend.

A binge-fest! Sejeong!

If you were with me, I'd probably be telling you how I binged this in 2 days.

Please view my bio for the standards for a 10/10 drama.

Let's dissect the story first. It had an amazing plot, but of course, it DID piss me off once or twice. The rules to being stripped of your counter powers were so vague. Also, the plot played around with the characters lives (killing them and then bringing them back to life) with no solid reasoning behind it. Finally, the last thing that pissed me off was that they centered everything around Mun wanting to say something to his dead parents.

The cast was good. So Moon, the character, lowkey pisses me off because he just *snaps* me out of the "drama trance." If you don't know what that is, it's a terms (that I may or may not have invented) which describes when you are so into a drama, the actors don't give a vibe that they are acting. The way he exerts his fury just *snaps* me out of it. There was an odd balance of comedic relief among the main characters though; Chu Mae Ok/Ga Mo Tak/Choi Jang Mool being the comedic relief and Do Ha-Na and So Moon being the seriousness. That made it resemble a webdrama, which is what it is. I honestly came to support Sejeong but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the drama. Most of the actors and actresses perfectly fit their role.

Since most of it is action, it would not have a high rewatch value. Lastly for music, Sejeong sung one of the OSTs. This makes me really happy as I love when the actors of the drama sing one or more of the OST tracks.

Overall, I WOULD RECCOMEND if you are more of an action fanatic. P.S. I am not a big fan of heavily action-based dramas.

TW: Don't read if you are sensitive to criticism.

Before I dive in, here are some things I want to stress about a 10/10 drama for me. It has to be captivating from beginning to end; it has to have a high rewatch value; it has to not have a part where I want to spam the "skip 10 seconds "button. <-These are just some of my standards. I also was not recommended this by my friends; I found it on my own.

Now, as you probably can see, I dropped this drama at its first episode. That comes to say that it doesn't even complete the first criteria, let alone 2 or 3--giving me absolutely no motivation to finish the drama. I can't really say much about the storyline, as I have not finished and WILL not attempt to finish it, but I can say FOR SURE that the build-up was a pretty big let-down. The screenplay wasn't that good and the introduction of each character was just either too much or too little. I knew who the main character was, but the amount of screentime she got gave me second thoughts.

Moving on to the cast, I can say that I came 100% for the cast. I already watched Jun's [U-kiss and former UNB] other drama (Goodbye to Goodbye [in which I quite enjoyed his acting and chemistry with the actress, Bo Ah {<- my favorite actress at the moment] ) and I was scouring the internet everyday just to find some of his content or acting. When I came across this before it aired, I immediately added it to my "Plan To Watch" list. Jun was the main reason I was excited for this drama. Then, I saw that Apink's Bomi was also in it. I became even more excited. I also want to say that I appreciate the efforts of the entire cast! Even though I respect and admire their achievements as a solo act, I wasn't totally impressed for the chemistry in between the main cast.

I might be quick to judge as I only watched one episode, but this drama really doesn't have what it takes to be fully watched for me (let alone a 10/10). The suggested overall rating is 4.5, but I gave it a 6 just because of the cast :) P>S> this is the longest review I have written.

Not my cup of tea

I decided to watch the original Chinese version after a while of it being on my list because the Korean version is airing. Considering that the Chinese actors are actually actors and not just some K-idol actors, let's just say I expected way more. The story was meh. They dove too quickly into the story without bothering to develop the characters and the character's background, but then they started to drag after episode 3. One thing they did well was the cast. The second gave me little to no second-lead syndrome, which is not a bad thing after this year and 2020 has been rough for me with second leads. The only thing I can't unsee is the female lead from Meteor Garden because I watched that first. Overall, do not recommend unless you are in for a cringe-ride and meh acting.

My expectations were way too high. TW: Don't read if you don't criticism well.

Before I dive in, here are some things I want to stress about a 10/10 drama for me. It has to be captivating from beginning to end; it has to have a high rewatch value; it has to not have a part where I want to spam the "skip 10 seconds "button. <-These are just some of my standards. I am someone who doesn't like recommendations as I get expectations. Other than Untamed, I got high recommendations for this drama.

I don't know if the reason I don't like this dramas is because my standards have been raised my K-dramas (I just started writing reviews so you won't find that many reviews for K-dramas). I recently heard that there were three versions of the drama (Korean, Chinese, Japanese). The Korean version, Boys over Flowers, is on my watchlist, but I have heard very split opinions on it (either very good or very bad). As one of my few watched C-dramas, I wouldn't say I'm particularly fond of the amount of episodes in C-dramas. I prefer the Korean standard: 16 episodes, 1 hour long each. As for the story, I wouldn't say it's half bad. It was VERY predictable for the five episodes that I watched though I might have judged it early. It's the typical "short poor average girl with tall handsome rich dude" storyline. The main reason why I dropped this title is because I came for Dylan Wang, but his character's personality [and hairstyle] was complete trash. I am currently watching another title with the female lead: A Love so Beautiful (which I think I will drop soon). Though C-dramas are known to be the most realistic of the three genres (K-dramas, J-dramas. C-dramas), I found this so CRINGE and not realistic AT ALL.

IKonfused

I'm so confused. I though we were going to get another Ikon reality show like IKON-TV. Not going to lie, I was heavily entertained by Bobby last IKON-TV and this one was well. This "Welcome Back" series was predicted to be 12 episodes and all of a sudden I check back to only see one episode. Disappointing, but not surprised that YG canceled it. By the way, I'm still waiting for an epic IKON comeback. I miss you, BI (and I know you're doing just fine on your own) but come on! We only got like one 2020 comeback.

Edit: All episodes are now released on IKON's youtube channel!

A really good drama for something that I dropped

This drama wasn't exceptionally good but let's just start with saying the visuals were HEAVY.

Please take a look at my bio for a 10/10 completed drama.

The story had a really good start and I predict that the drama would have gone well. It's just that they lost my interest because I couldn't connect with the male lead.

As for the cast, I came for Sekyung and Sooyoung. They definitely met my expectations. As for Kang Tae Oh and Im Shi Wan, I just realized they are experienced idol actors. I don't know if it's the character or the actor but the male lead was really hard to sympathize or connect with as mentioned above. Sekyung connected me with MiJoo really well though. Sooyoung actually confused me so much because I lowkey wanted her to be the female lead at moments. Finally, with Kang Tae Oh, I don't think I watched enough to judge his character or acting ability (though I have seen him in My First First Love 1 and 2).

Overall, I WOULD only RECCOMEND if you have a large attention span.

Over-advertised?

As you can see, I dropped this title at 1 episodes, so it might be a hasty judgement. Please take a look at my bio to find out my standards for a 10/10 drama.

I first heard of this drama when it was advertised on some broadcasting station's Instagram. Since I'm a drama guru and I love watching dramas as they air, I decided to try it out. The first thing that stood out to me was the editing and camerawork. It gave me 2011 K-drama vibes (aka "Dream High" camerawork and setting). [Edit: Xena Ng in the comments told me that 'It has 2011 Kdrama vibes because it's a daily drama ! There are still many family/daily dramas airing nowadays and they always use the family old style of camerawork to film their dramas, it's different from your usuals.'] The first "hook" scene was VERY unappealing. As for the cast, I don't think I am at a position in the drama to judge yet. Finally, as I was dropping this title on MDL, I saw the amount of episodes (100) and immediately decided it wasn't for me.

Overall, DO NOT RECCOMEND you to try unless you are bored out of your mind. I would suggest re-watching that drama that you've already watched a billion times instead of starting this.
