I do think a happy ending for JiLu can be expected. For those who saw reuters, there is that part where LWY is dressed like a village girl and Ji Ling is plainly dressed as well. Really cottagecore like. I remember someone said this is them in their next life where they're humans and with no memories. I'm totally fine if that is the ending tbh. I can't think of these scenes fitting anywhere else.
