Both of them are not real in a way. Lu Wuyi was created by Jiu Ying, and Ji Ling was just a fox that took someone else's appearance.
Both think that they aren't worth anything.
Ji Ling just wanted to pay back the one who helped him, leaving his own ambitions behind. He carried someone's else burden, and went through this suicide mission (cuz that's what it was, sacrificing himself in someone's else's place tbh.) He had locked Ji Ling away.
Until Lu Wuyi came. She never gave up on Ji Ling. No matter how much he hurt her with his words and actions, she still stayed firm.
He NEEDED someone to want the old him. Someone who preferred the old innocent and happy Ji Ling, not the lonely dragon Chi Wen.
And Lu Wuyi is that someone. 🥹
And that's why, he couldn't help but let some of his old self come out whenever she was around him.
We got a lot of male yearners in Cdrama lately, and while that's nice, we need something else too lol.
I'm glad it's different here. They're both yearning and down bad for eachother, but Lu Wuyi is definitely a bigger yearner.
