You need to realize that equal billing ≠ equal screentime.
equal billing to put it bluntly means that they're all going to get paid the same amount of money, screentime does NOT matter.
Dudu and Shunxi read the script, they knew about their character's direction, and went along with it. They arent children, if they didn't like it, they wouldn't do it. Simple. They did their job, and got their money, they're happy.
