Did you really say they promoted smoking? At what point did any of these shows teach a character how to smoke? By that logic, you could also claim BL promotes premarital sex, unsafe sex, or even teaches people how to drink alcohol—simply because those things are depicted on screen.
It is like saying your favorite singer or actor who like to smoke shouldn't smoke in real life because they promote smoking PUHLEEEZE! I smoke occasionally, and at no point have i ever felt the urge to smoke because i saw attractive men smoking in a drama. Representation is not instruction.
Adults are capable of separating fiction from real-life choices, and not every on-screen behavior needs to come with moral hand-holding. These are adult dramas made for adult audiences, not instructional videos.
