Title Yumi's Cells
I don't understand many of these comments. People like Woong's character because he's imperfect and makes many…
I like both Yumi and Woong, but relate more to the latter character. For example, I don't share every waking thought - I never have - and often don't tell people stuff that I think they're going to make a big, inappropriate fuss about. This has included, in the past, that X - who I had less than zero interest in - was maccing on me.

wow the comments and the rating dont add up 🤔
I don't think is unenjoyable. It's just that the writing and story arcs are very thin and muddled. But the actors, bless them, are doing the best with a fairly shonky script and direction. And it kicked off with so much promise.

there is no depth in the characters nor the story
Also, so many McGuffins - the painting, the 'revenge' plot, even the supernatural bits. Its very muddled.

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
It looks like the drama adaptation is going to deviate from the novel's plot a lot because from the novel spoilers,…
Does the novel cover her death (of liver cancer, bizarrely) at a relatively young age?

Title Yumi's Cells
Am I really the only one who doesn't think Woong's actions in ep 9 were wrong? Everyone on this comment thread…
I half agree with your analysis. I think Yumi's initial reaction to. e.g. the marmalade, was OTT and neurotic, even controlling/jealous. But sometimes our instincts are ahead of our rational selves. As it turned out Sae Yi's intentions ARE nefarious, she DOES want to split them up and she has probably done that in the past/will continue to do that forever. Because she can. Because the men in a - real life - scenario will never see what she's doing. Signed, Thelma Ritter.

If, say, your parents were thinking of investing in a pyramid scheme, how much would you be *supportive* of their decision?

Title Yumi's Cells
Am I the only one who doesn't really like Yumi? I feel like she's very superficial and quite annoying...
I definitely think she started off somewhat neurotic and super shallow/trying hard to impress her 'mates' but she's growing on me.

I'm really, really happy for drama makers to 'fictionalize' the elements that we can't possibly know, e.g peoples' feelings and motivations, etc. But I hope they don't completely butcher known, undisputed history as they did with Jang Ok Jeong (cringe) to create 'romance'. The real story - he was Sado's son - is interesting enough without that sort of bollix.

I love both the leads, the acting is decent, it's pretty to look at and I love the 'painting' parts and yet . . . I'm quite bored. Something - and I'm not quite sure what - isn't working for me.

I don't know what to feel about this. Killing eve is literally my fav show and ofc they wouldn't show lgbtq elements…
Killing Eve isn't American in any case.

Title Yumi's Cells
I agree with you. I was a bit disappointed when I saw Yumi's character in that episode but if you continue to…
Oh, I'll carry on regardless, but I'm relieved to know she grows up a bit. I don't think lying about planning to get married was for Woong's benefit, though. But props to him for saving face (for Yumi) and going along with it. I don't think I would have been so generous in the same circumstances, e.g. if a man I was going out with told a similar lie about me to impress his ex.

Title Yumi's Cells
I'm only up to episode 8 but so far Yumi's making some really bad decisions out of vanity - the need to impress her cheating ex and at least one pretty toxic 'friend'. Does she get character development to become less silly and shallow?

Agree. It started off with so much promise but shrivelled into cliched, fluffy, pink prince/princess drivel by the end.

Title Nevertheless, Spoiler
Happy ending?
Yes, typical kdrama fluff, despite earlier promise to be more 'realistic'.
