I don't think you realize but you just proved me right. Cherry Magic cast, Tay and New included, don't need to go lengths to make the series successful, their chemistry is enough, whereas for Cooking Crush, where the plot doesn't come from a popular manga, they solely rely on OffGun popularity and chemistry. I'm not sure I understand what "more presence and plaudits" means as I'm not a hyped stan, it was just my opinion.

Compared to Last Twilight (great story, See is phenomenal, their chemistry is top tier and the cinematography is amazing) and Cherry Magic (Tay and New are already iconic in the BL industry and probably will turn the crappiest project into something good with their acting and chemistry alone) Cooking Crush is strongly relaying on OffGun popularity and I'll add Neo after OF to that.
It's simple, it's cute, it's fluffy. In my opinion, the rating is the best they can get at this point. Do I think the series would've reached the 7.0 mark with other MLs - nope.
Coming after 10 episodes just to state your favorite character seems to me like these "I'm a vegan" statements. You just want the world to know, but give us the details, please! We got it the fist couple of times.
