In one of the BTS clip for the proposal scene ZRN got emotional seeing BJT in his school uniform before the cameras even started rolling. So i’m willing to bet the tears are very real 😭 They love their characters and their love just as much as we do.

There was a mention of it in episode 24 when Sang Yan leaves for Yihe and it's mentioned again later on in episode 29 and Sang Zhi receives a call from Jiaxu in episode 31.

She went through an attempted sexual assault from her uncle and later he ends up being released from prison and starts harassing her again. Her family is also awful, theres no love in her home at all since her Father died. Her aunt is terrible and is an accomplice of the uncle and her mom never cared enough to pay attention to her own daughter after finding a new family. Everyone made her feel guilty and shameful of deserving good things.
