Fyi, in East Asian culture, not "giving face" or "make someone lose face in public" can lead to physical fights, eg in Ep 8, HDM and PGS nearly had a fist fight with CEO Choi until "broken up" by HDM's brother's arrival with his napa cabbages. Such physical altercations over "saving face" in public can happen in East Asia and is not childish.
....... Of course to Westerners, it looks childish.

GEMINI AI Overview: ... In East Asian cultures, "saving face" refers to the preservation of one’s reputation, dignity, and social standing. It acts as an invisible social currency; maintaining harmony and avoiding public embarrassment, shame, or conflict are prioritized above individual desires or direct confrontation.

... If you look at Episode 11 & 12 on this site, which have not aired yet, already 21 people hv rated them to show 6.6/10. Isn't that just weird.?
....... It's likely biased fans of competing kdramas on the same weekend time slot who do such weird things, eg fans of Perfect Crown and it's stars.

The mother is not as evil as we like to believe she is.I believe in redemption.
... There is no grey area wrt law-breaking/sins/ /evildoings/crimes. It's either innocent or guilty.

Oh Jeong Hui is guilty/evil for abandoning her family and 9-yo Eun A in her pursuit of fame and fortune as an actress. Then why she didn't bring 9-yo Eun A along.? = bc Eun A would hv spoiled her selfish pursuit and ambition.

Another moral message from this excellent drama is that initially, both Eun A and DM thought they were both self-destructive, ie Eun A for not retaliating in kind against those who hurt her = got nosebleeds, ... and DM for retaliating in kind = got bullied/banned by HJ Gang (or "gangsters") and beaten up by his brother.
....... Only later did they realized that DM was on the right path by retaliating in kind against evildoers/sinners, ie those who hv hurt or offended them. So, Eun A started to retaliate in kind against her enemies = evildoers/sinners, eg she threw a rock at Agit pub, against her mother, CEO Choi, Ma Jaeyeong, etc.

Another indication that DM was right was their emotion watch's "Unknown" emotion which was later found to mean "Help Me", ie DM helped Eun A to overcome her nosebleed episodes by her listening to his retaliatory stories and by her starting to retaliate in kind.

According to the Bible, Christians should love their neighbors/friends and hate their enemies, except when persecuted (Matthew5:43-44), like how Jesus was persecuted and crucified by powerful entities (= non-retaliation), bc God will avenge (Romans12:19-21).
....... In Ep 2, in one of Eun A's nosebleed episodes in the office, she could somehow use her mind to hurt back her enemies, ie the fat 8 Club director suffered coughing bouts and CEO Choi suffered headaches. This may allude to "God will avenge" on behalf of Eun A and other victims.

This is not a romcom where the male lead saves the female lead with 30 different camera angles and slow mo effects…
... In that case, you are saying the other directors in 8 Club are also cowards and have no empathy for not criticizing HDM's talentlessness of 20 years to his face.

Do you criticize your acquaintances' or work colleagues' or school/college alumnis' bad habits or bad behaviour or talentlessness or other bad things to their face.?
....... Normally, we do so only to our family members and close friends, ie criticize them to their face.
....... In East Asia, it's called the "give face" or "save face" culture by not criticizing others' bad things to their face.

... In Ep 2, HDM told off CEO Choi in his office for criticizing him to his face, ie Choi had previously criticized HDM to his face for being talentless bc he has yet to debut after 20 years. The others in the 8 Club dared not say so to his face.
... .... HDM also told Choi that he only criticized other directors' bad films behind their backs, not to their face, bc he respected them. Doesn't this show HDM has empathy.?

... Fyi, in the 8 Club of college alumni of film majors, HDM began to mouth off his life stories, esp in criticizing…
... In the context of the Bible, "childish" hate in the heart can bear fruit into the sin of bullying (eg HJ banning HDM from the 8 Club gathering at her Agit pub just bc he spoke unwelcome facts/truths abt her husband's latest movie), sabotage, murder, etc.
....... Similarly, "childish" sexual lust in the heart --> the sin of stalking/harassment, sasaeng fans, molest, peeping Tom, rape, adultery, sexual immorality, HIV/AIDS (= self harm), etc - Mark7:21.

... Fyi, in the 8 Club of college alumni of film majors, HDM began to mouth off his life stories, esp in criticizing…
... IRL, the guilty or evil party is the one who first started doing evil to the other, not the one (= victim) who then retaliated in kind. IOW, the law of ni4ni or a tooth 4 a tooth or a life 4 a life.
....... Eg in the court of law, the convicted murderer first murdered another; then the judge imposes a severe punishment on him in retaliation or revenge/vengeance and in the name of justice for the murder victim.

Initially, Eun A was foolish to not retaliate in kind to those who hated or offended her. Hence, her nosebleeds. HDM's actions against CEO Choi in her office helped her to realize that she should retaliate in kind and not be a pushover.

According to the Bible, Christians are to love their neighbor/friend and hate their enemy, except when persecuted, like how Jesus was (= non-retaliation), bc God will avenge - Matthew5:43-44, Romans12:19-21.

Dong Man is really pain to watch. There is always that one friend in our circle.at ep03, He witnessing Eun-A almost…
... Fyi, in the 8 Club of college alumni of film majors, HDM began to mouth off his life stories, esp in criticizing others based on facts, bc he was anxious about the other 7 alumnis hating or disliking him. Eg PGS started to hate HDM after basing his successful debut film on HDM's personal love story bc he feared HDM finding out abt his secret "stealing" of his love story. PGS even wished HDM dead, so that his secret would never be revealed.
... HDM told PGS he hated him bc PGS hated him first.

IRL, fear or anxiety/worries can cause a person to hate and do evil, eg in love relationships, office politics.

I don't think HL want to divorce her husband, it was more like a warning to his co-writer. She is still trying…
The co-writer has been flattering her husband in her presence, ie in her office and Agit pub, which I believe annoyed her/HJ. That may be why she asked the co-writer whether she wanted her husband.

IIRC, at ard Ep 4's quarrel between HDM and her husband, PGS, when her husband asked HJ if she still loved him, she did not say Yes or No. This already showed she has fallen out of love with him, ie she treated him just as a business partner or work colleague in siding with him against HDM.

In Ep 10, she is now siding with HDM against her husband bc she is producing his debut film. IOW, if HDM's film becomes a box office hit, she will reap billions of won. In comparison, her husband has become a losing business proposition to her = it may be better for her to divorce him, eg if his new TV series become a flop.

No. IIRC, HJ was rude to CEO Choi when he stole her film production of KnockX3 from her. She was also rude to HDM when banning him from her Agit pub, eg by posting the sign publicly. So, it would not be out of character for her.
