did seong hyeon actually had a crush on him for 12 years?i dont think so they prolly just met and forgot about…
I thought it was to counter Jaemin's statement that it wasn't Suhyeon or Seunghyeon who met him first but him. It was to show that Seunghyeon actually met him before the other guys.

Loved this. A few things take it from a 10 to a 9 for me though. The story was somewhat rushed, it could've definitely benefitted from 12 episodes instead of 8. I would've also liked to see just a little bit more nuance to the characters - especially Suhyeon and Seonghyeon. Suhyeon would've been easier to root for if he actually cared more about what Daon wanted. I think it would've made for a more complex and interesting story if instead of making him a more mild/not as crazy version of Jaemin, they'd have made it more difficult to choose between him and Seonghyeon. His character was written quite inconsistently. When it comes to Seonghyeon, I would've liked to see a sharper contrast to the other two love interests in terms of communicating in a healthy way. The "like me back because i like you" and the "I won't let you explain what happened even though this entire conflict could be avoided if i just let you speak" thing is getting a bit old for me lol. Buuuuuut I still loved it overall - I looked forward to Wednesdays and Thursdays each week, the storyline had me absolutely hooked from start to finish, and all four of them did so well. I've grown a bit attached to them and find myself wishing Korean BL couples also did multiple projects together like in Thailand haha.

You're completely right and the fact that this even needs to be said because of the amount of people who don't recognize the clearest and most obvious form of abuse is crazy

Okay so Jaemin being an absolute lunatic psychopath aside. I'd really prefer it if Soohyun's character was a bit more... redeemable? Nuanced? In terms of being a healthy partner for Daon, Seonghyeon is clearly the only option. But what love triangle (or in this case, love square) shows often get wrong, this show gets wrong too - it's more interesting if it's difficult to choose. But in this case, it really isn't. With a bit more nuance, Soohyun's character could have been the one you at least feel sorry for (for me, for instance, this was executed really well in When it Rains, it Pours - Sei's boyfriend was toxic and his colleague was clearly the right choice for him, but they gave a depth to the boyfriend's behavior that made you feel he truly loved Sei, and you can't help but feel sorry for him for this reason, or wish he'd made different choices). With Soohyun, you see these moments of tenderness and real feelings he has for Daon - unlike Jaemin, who only wants control - but then it doesn't align with the fact that his behavior clearly shows he doesn't care about what Daon wants, only what he himself wants, which isn't really true love - it's also a form of control, although less explicitly obvious than in Jaemin's case. So I guess my issue is that his character just isn't very consistent. This is my only complaint, I absolutely love this drama otherwise.

Where and when did I say it defined their relationship? “He’s still better” of course he is, I’m not saying he’s not, he’s literally my favorite character? I’m talking about a character inconsistency in terms of the writing itself and I’m not interested in excuses. Please let people air out their frustrations with bad aspects of character writing without blindly jumping in to defend something that can be considered problematic, even if you don’t see the issue with going along with a drunk person who was literally on the verge of passing out and so drunk he mistook you for someone else.

I saw a comment yesterday that said these characters are two-dimensional. I couldn’t disagree more. The layers to Jaemin’s covert narcissism/psychopathic tendencies slowly getting peeled back is fascinating - not only with him literally ordering someone to SA Daon, but also him feeding his dad’s addiction to gambling - and so is the not-all-is-as-it-seems aspect slowly becoming obvious with Suhyeon. Him bashing someone’s head in in the first (2nd?) ep really made it seem like he was the craziest one out of them all, and how wrong that assumption was. Side note - I kinda hate that they ruined Seonghyeon’s and Daon’s first kiss like that ☹️ I wish they’d stop making even the most decent-presenting characters take advantage of someone much drunker than them like it’s not even an issue.

Seonghyeon is a walking green forest oh my gosh. He’s so attentive, and the way he was mesmerized by Daon’s sweater paws 😭 and Daon is so cuteeeee. I love them both. And Cha Jungwoo is so good at playing the most unlikeable character ever lmao. Two talented actors in one family

I have started with a 0.5 and then will change it to how well the BL is at the end. 7.7 is pretty good. I will…
You rated it a 0.5? How does that make sense even if you plan to increase it...

Only 2 episodes in, the rating should be far higher than 7.7. This is such a refreshingly well-written, well-paced drama with good acting, I can't wait for next week's episodes.

"Puckered skinny lips don't do it for me" just say you're a fetishizer babe that's easier
Having a preference for your romantic partner's physical features is normal. Thinking you're well within your right of complaining on a public platform about a drama series "not doing it for you" because the actors do not fit your fetishized image of what they should look like is fetishization. Hope that helps!

Person Ha Min Hyeok
He did so well in Brewing Love, I just finished ep. 7 where he gives a very convincing, emotional performance. I'm surprised to see it's his first role. Hope to see more of him!

Not Me was SO good; easily my fave Thai BL, so I can’t wait for this one. Also have wanted to see Dew in a BL for a long time. I wish this series would turn out to be poly rather than a love triangle but I know there’s not a big chance for that unfortunately. Still looking forward to it though ✨
