I'm not your average BL drama watcher. Or just in general, I'm not your average person on the internet. But stuff…
The Untamed and Word of Honor are perfect even without the more intimate stuff. I might start Killer and Healer sometimes, but it's just a big time investment for chinese BL/bromance.
Bad Bunny πππ I wish.
BLs certainly have they own problems and tropes. I got used to it fairly quickly, so it rarely bothers me now. But I don't expect a "hollywood" level of quality from them, either. I'm mostly watching it for emotional support/distress.
There are bound to be some cultural differences that can be off-putting. My main is the wife/husband stuff and their overall views on family and hierarchy in society.
The multiple couples in a friend group is mostly done to connect multiple love stories which provide contrast to each other imo. I would have agreed with some that queer people often tend to stick together (even when they aren't aware of it), but most BLs don't present their protagonists as queer (which is one of my biggest issues with the dramas). Similarly with families, it isn't uncommon to have multiple queer people among siblings.
Don't worry, we've already retired our engineers. It's all about musicians, doctors, sportsmen and foodies now π
The ads I just take as a necessary evil for the BLs to be made at all, let alone distributed globally (often for free). I very much prefer it over the fanservice stuff. Some shows do a better job to hide it, some are so bad it's hilarious. But mostly, I just ignore it (except my obsession with a pink milk. It's a holy grail I will never stop chasing π₯).
I'm fine with a simple and or rehashed plot, if it makes sense. Having no plot at all or one so complicated even the writers get lost in it is way worse. And some plots are just bad, boring, inconsistent mess (I won't name names, but I'm sure some people will relate). I do agree that Korean and Japanese BLs tend to have better plots on average, though (I don't watch Taiwanese / Vietnamese BLs, and filipino ones are few and in-between). Also, most (Thai) BLs are based on fanfics / wattpad stories, so there's that.
The cliche/cringe/weird humor is mostly cultural thing, I believe. You might have heard of thai soap operas (Lakorns), where it's pretty standard.
I'm glad most BLs aren't realistic. If they were, they would be hella depressing to watch.
[Also, please don't make this as my way of disagreeing with you. I'm just chatty and procrastinating π]
I can't remember if I was looking forward to this or not because there's like a dozen series I'm watching or waiting…
I don't mind tropey, rehashed plot if it's at least somehow well done in BL. My main problem with (some) latest thai Bls is that they have no plot at all (or a really bad, failed one). Gen Y2, Love stage!!, Enchante, CP.... all of them are just glorified glaucoma filter hyped up by the fans of actors.
[I'm also very biased because this is exactly the kind of 2moons-y plot I adore π]
So are more people watching this because it was listed off in a Teen Vogue article? haha
I heard about it before, but was put off by (my interpretation of) the premise. Then few days ago I started "Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai!". It made me wanna watch another J-BL shows and this one was in recommended, so I thought I'll give it a try :)
Is it only me who thinks that this bl is overrated? I kinda don't find it interesting. I'm really sorry to say…
I don't think it's a bad drama, but I do think it's overrated/overhyped.
My main problems with it are the constant tone switching, odd time cuts and having too many characters with too little exposition/show (so it gets confusing).
In the end, people have waited so long for the drama, they have established emotional connections that have little to do with the actual show. Which might not be bad for them, but it can create different perception for someone who's just diving in.
Hi all, recommending all of you to watch The Miracle of Teddy Bear if you haven't known about it yet. It's highly…
I expected to be more weirded out by The Miracle of Teddy Bear, but it's actually pretty interesting. If only the episodes were shorter (I have a problem to dedicate 90 minutes per episode on something I would consider mostly "light" drama.)
Episode 3 spoiler ( my button doesn't work again smh) Was Porsche drunk? Yes but so was Kinn. Both of them were…
"This is more people complaining that they don't like the content of other peoples' posts because they don't agree with them for whatever reason. Which is silly and misses the point of the comments section."
Agree. But also, these kinds of comments will always be here, one way or another. Unless I feel very strongly about what the comment suggests, it's overly aggressive or I think it's addressing me personally , I tend to ignore those comments.
BL fans are unique breed and I don't have the energy to keep getting caught in the crossfire.
(I see the mandatory "CP is so sweet and cute relaxing drama, how can these stupid haters with their ulterior motives ruin it for everyone" comments all the time and at this point, I just ignore it rather than beating the horse to death. Most people will just not accept even the possibility of different perspective being equally valid as theirs. And some are just plain oblivious.)

Right?! πππ
Wau. It truly has been an exhausting decade these past 2 years π

I was once called a crazy SaintZee shipper just for criticising CP (in detail). I'm still salty about it π
But WHEN DO YOU SLEEP?! π¨π¨π¨
I'm getting tired just thinking about it ππ
If you also indicate at the start of your comment that the spoilers come from novel, you're my hero π₯°

FUTS is my guilty pleasure, too! π
I doubt Kuea would even have a will, let alone time and energy to perform in his current state. Which, we all know who's responsible for that.
