Amagi is... quirky. I hope the character is just pretending, otherwise he might get a bit too annoying in the future. But he seemed to be serious(ish) during the opening scene, so it should be fine.

And we're getting back to the heartbreak.

I feel like they're trying to do too much with Amagi, both visually and character-wise. The ticks, the grimaces, those odd thought processes, the cutesy presentation... it's certainly a choice. I just haven't decided whose choice it was and whether I like it or not.

Ok, that was one hell of an out-of-blue confession! But if we accept that Amagi's kinda in his head, it's believable enough ☺️

I liked their face expressions during the confession scene! Insecure, awkward, scared...it was pretty good.

Ok, back to Amagi, since it's my biggest beef with the show right now. I'm grateful for his inner monologue, because his behaviour is just majorly confusing me. I guess he's naturally awkward, and nervous, and a bit introverted, but he's nice to everyone and he's trying to be sociable? His characterization is all over the place for me. And since we're being honest, the visuals aren't doing much better job. It might be the actor, or the directing, or just my own shallow prejudice, but I can't really wrap my head around what kind of character "Amagi" is. Except the heartbreaking parts. He's playing hurt quite well. I hope they'll have enough time to develop him 💙

They still sneaked the "mafia" part into the first episode, so I wouldn't have put it past them to go there eventually 🤣🤣🤣

I mean, there's been no real promotion for this series yet, and the filming apparently wrapped up already! Which means, they're likely to release soon! Certainly within this year! If they took less than 3 months filming, no way they're doing more than 3 months of post-production and preparing for release!!

Do we even think they'll do some serious promotion this time around? I mean, I'm not one to spread or follow rumours, but considering how rocky this series's been handled so far, maybe they just want to end it as quietly as possible? Get what they can out of it with the least amount of effort? How long is it even going to be?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for the show!! (Even though I really shouldn't, apparently). But this is giving me a weird vibe.

Nope, the description is just intentionally vague (it's more of a tag lines for each story). The first story (the one that's releasing right now) is focused on shipping and how problematic it can get for the actors mainly, but even management and fans, while the next story (starring the second pairing of mafia baby 2 - Bew's in it 🤍) is focused more on how the drama between managers tears him and his partner apart. They aren't exactly an established couple in the first story (at least not yet). I suggest you watch the 2-minute trailers for each story if you want to have a better idea what they're trying to portray.

Also, MDL isn't really suitable for having this kind of fractured story on one page, so the descriptions and cast lists are kinda a mess. Maybe it would be easier if we had a separate page for each 5 episode part, but that's just my opinion.

This is certainly what you'd call a "guilty pleasure" type of drama for many people. If you're looking for serious, thrilling and gruesome mafia story, I'd drop this.

If you're looking for telenovela-like drama with entertaining characters and silly plots, this one is diamond in the rough 💎

Is this one really tropey? Yes. Do the tropes work for me? Also yes.

I don't think it's necessarily bad that we're yet again getting a weak uke. One that gets bedridden because he's been outside for too long, in less than ideal circumstances. Same with the whininess, the clinginess, the social awkwardness... it's overdone in BLs and it should be toned down as a whole. But it doesn't need to disappear entirely imo. In this specific case, I think it fits. It's nearly believable to me. Almost relatable. It's still showing an idealized world, but one that's giving me a feeling of deja vu quite often. It's also pretty well done in my opinion. So I'll stick with it, and I'll probably enjoy it 💚

I feel like he would do very well in yandere-like character roles!!! Someone who is sweet, excited, clingy and even childish on the outside, but cold and manipulative and selfish on the inside!

He could also be a nice Kuea from Cutie Pie, provided Kuea would actually be as fake as they tried to imply at the start (he doesn't really give off racer/rocker vibes to me, though. But who knows? He might surprise us!)

Basically, I feel like he would do great in these nice/dark two-faced roles 💚🖤
