I don't care about Wanghe not clearing his feelings to the girls. He himself doesn't know whom he wants to be with and is enjoying both their companies. He's a teen so ok I'll pardon his love life issues BUT he's exactly like his dad — bossing around for no reason. Just like his dad who didn't pay attention to Fenghua's dad thinking he's just an assistant of his, Wanghe thinks he's the sun of the circle. It's NOT fair for him to keep insulting Fenghua all the time as 'joke'. No! Asking her to be ladylike, asking her to stay at home while prompting her friend not to give up on her career is NOT FUNNY. Maybe, people here might disagree with me but I don't care. If any guy does that to me every time since my childhood days, I would've punched him on his face. Wanghe should be grateful that Fenghua doesn't take it too much on her heart. Actually, she does but she lets it pass because of her feelings for him.

The two actors are cast in Coroner's Diary (which stars many other actors from this drama and Ao Ruipeng as the male lead). I hope they get their share of happy ending there. I love them more than the second leads🥺

they were not poor from the beginning. they belonged to middle class households until gradually the ship business came to a point where it was sinking. so maybe she got braces a few years back when they could actually afford it. moreover, Fenghua's dad still sends money to his mother (until ofc she refused to give her own) so it means they're not really that poor not to be able to afford a government orthodontist. 🤔

Of course that he had. But FY didn't have the complete mantle of Jing Yuan. JY tore his mantle, one part went to the Tiger Clan (which FY had) and the other existed in the outer world, searching for XY. FY's mantle didn't really help him become the Demon King. He was still living happily with his family in the tiger clan until the tiger clan was destroyed. That is when he got revengeful and decided to become more powerful than the demons who attacked his clan. FY only had the mantle, he never had any evil bone/whatever of that sort. FY *accidentally* stumbled upon the other half of JY's mantle unlike BS who was born with XY's mantle. Also, JY himself gave his powers to FY before leaving which clearly means that FY never really had an advantage of having his mantle until JY gave him his purple moon, just like BS never had any spiritual power even though she was born with XY's mantle. No doubt FY was destined for it but he never had any source which helped him to be that. He even stumbled on that cave accidentally.

Also, SYS was destined to be the Demon Lord. It's only natural that his body could cope with all that to make /force him to be the Demon lord in future (just like Tantai jin). Whereas not to forget FY was just an ordinary mortal from the Tiger clan who came up to practice demonic weapons and cultivation so hard that he ended up with the seven stars burning seal. FY was never destined to be the Demon King. He trained himself to go from a mortal to a demon to do all of that.

Both FY and SYS had curses attached to their heart. FY too woke up and forced himself to use his powers everytime the circumstances got dire, until the time that his last star collapsed. FY's curse was directly attached to the ruthless cultivated he went through to practice the most dreadful demonic weapons.

I haven't seen the villain of LOTDT but mind you, FY had to face Hidden God (again this dude is also in a God level position and not just a random lord). Even Hidden God was powerful. His hidden power/black power was so strong that even XingYue got hurt and didn't recover well for about 100 years.

But why do we feel that these two seem less powerful than the ones in LOTDT?

Reason: both Demon God and Hidden God were equally powerful. Them having a cut throat one on fight would've led to a catastrophe without a clear winner. And thus, Hidden God used FY's weakness (by forcing him to lose a lot of his spiritual power). Moreover, Hidden God's agenda was more about marrying XingYue first and ofc, naturally annihilate humans, after that. Therefore, Hidden God and Demon God never really fought fairly. And that's also the reason why they could kill him only after BS/XingYue entered the chat with her divine bow.

Usually in mythological scripts/you know these God kinda creatures — you don't smash them with your power. You can only defeat them by outsmarting, because more usual than or not the other side is at a greater power or all of them have almost equal power.

Happy 2 months since we came across this drama. MM!! No matter how many people come out with the most ridiculous theories, no body can make me hate you. It's sad that people are always spreading hate about lovely characters like Fan Yue, hating Bailu's acting while she actually did very well, and hating on ARP and Lulu's chemistry. But anyways, I'm happy to have found people who also understand and share my perspective about the characters. I don't consider baseless hate comments and comparisons as 'reviews' or POVs on the show. It's just HATE. There's nothing genuine about it. I wouldn't say MM is perfect. It does have its own imperfections. But come on! Who doesn't? It's about the perspective and the extent you love a drama. You love something truly you will assume it to be perfect. But be honest, nothing is perfect. NEVER. I enjoyed my time here discussing the drama. But I also feel I'm done with the amount of unnecessary hate people are showering on this drama with literally no genuine complaint. It's draining. Thus, I'm going to bid a farewell to this page. I had a very short time here but I loved every bit of it. Let's hope someday ARP and Lulu are re-cast and some of us meet each other in some other drama 💟 (ofc you can add me as a friend. But remember: I am a moonlight mystique defender)

By the way, I saw your comment over there. I'm afraid we'll have difference of opinions here. FY too was always there for BS. He never let go of her to fight on her own. Coming to why you felt that SYS is better — I guess it's because LOTDT has great Wuxia fighting scenes whereas MM doesn't. I don't consider it a fair parameter to judge and compare characters belonging to different genres. Also, as far as I've watched LOTDT I didn't like how SYS's character was half of the times cold towards XRR. I agree he had his own reasons for it but it's just not my taste. Whereas I like FY for the way he communicates. He didn't let BS know his true intentions for activating the contemplation stone but he gave her a fair offer. SYS just dragged XRR with him to save her and didn't even bother to make a deal with her. It was by accident that she found about her spirit companion's energy. In fact I dropped that drama for the over Wuxia elements (which you absolutely adore for your taste) and the extremely slow paced romance. It's about the taste — whether you like Wuxia oriented stuff or not. TTEOTM too didn't have the kind of fights which LOTDT had. The same goes for all the Xianxia dramas without much of Wuxia elements in them. Be it TTEOTM, TLI or MM — these don't have frequent fights. They have major showdowns in the climax. Whereas dramas like LOTDT and Blood of Youth — they have frequent fight scenes. Also, I don't consider it fair to compare a character who is going through stages of cultivation and a character who is already at a higher position than him.

I've seen half of LOTDT (around 24 + last 2 episodes). I can say that Fan Yue would win. SYS had already turned half weak because of the curse. Moreover, LOTDT is a drama where the FL is more powerful than the ML. Half of the drama was about SYS not becoming the demon lord he was destined to be. And maybe he didn't become the Demon lord by the end (correct me if I'm wrong but it's only fair that way) Whereas, FY is already a Demon King + has the mantle of the Demon God. Moreover, he becomes the Demon God himself towards the end of the story. MM does not have a lot of action scenes unlike LOTDT. But it's also because in the latter, the story was about teaching magic and cultivation to the disciples. Whereas MM doesn't really have unnecessary action scenes all the time. Not all the time you see FY getting tortured or spitting blood. MM's action scenes are limited partly because everyone's afraid of FY and don't want a war against him. Less action scenes doesn't mean the character is weaker.

I never said she doesn't need a love story because she's carefree and wild. I would personally love to see her character growth from being considered as a notorious fool to an independent woman more. Given the way everyone is teasing her about her not being appetizing enough to find a husband, I want her to prove them wrong first and then go, find love and live happily. I want to see her develop an identity of her more than see the romance between the leads.

but there's still a plenty of it. It does have romance. Just that it's not plot centric

Also, this might be an unpopular opnion but I kinda like both men - Wanghe and Chen Rui (correct me if this name is wrong) with Ma Si Yi. I feel Fenghua is better off on her own and doesn't really need a love angle in the story. Nevertheless, this is a gripping story. Love the cast and ofc, Lulu. She looks so different yet appetizing. I am glad she picked up this drama.

Constant nagging and nitpicking about 'who would marry her' has changed the way Fenghua looks at Wanghe. She doesn't really 'love' him or has a 'crush' on him. In my opinion, ever since her childhood she has wrapped herself in the delusion that she doesn't need to bother about her marriage (which is good) because she'll marry Wanghe (which is bad). She is charmed his wit and looks up to his ideas. But at the same time, she aspires to be independent on her own and match Siyi and his level. This whole bubble wrap is going to hurt her when she realizes that this funny childhood idea of 'marriage' meant nothing to Wanghe apart from a long forgotten childhood joke. It would be nice to see their character growths and how she eventually understands what love is. 🥹

Thank God I'm saved for the torture. Must say reading this halfway gave me a damn headache, let alone watching it in the drama. I'm glad the drama doesn't do the characters dirty.

What did she do to bring back Mumu? Please don't say she smacked him on the head to make his brain go back to a reset mode💀

it does have subtle romance but i think romance is not plot centric.

Usually these dramas don't get a s2 unless they're end on a cliffhanger or have some story left. There's no more story left both as per the drama's ending and the book's. So, we can only manifest bailu and ARP to work again. I don't think moonlight is ever returning with another s2.
