and as always, I laughed a lot watching it, I wasn't really in a good mood but I ended up smilinggg
one of the things I love about this drama is the fact it centres a lot in the internal struggle of the characters, so, they start growing closer to each other by knowing about their past, their struggles, the things they are hurt by, and by helping each other, and I find it so heart-warming.
by this episode is evident they both care about each other, they want each other to be okay, they want to help each other, but they don't question it to themselves.. yet
XZL is evidently already having a big crush on LS, LS probably hasn't realized it yet, she's actually very innocent
I loved when characters and facts take part of a bigger picture than just a random setting, in this episode we know that by LS's good heart she became friends with the foreign man (when she stood by him when they were both at the verge of death). I think LS is so cute trying to help ZL, trying to make up for the little mistake he made before (I don't blame her for making up the rumors honestly lol, ZL was being mean!!) but still she discovered he actually had a good heart and actually cared about her, which I think is so rare to her based on here past. She did her best to stop the rumors (and even paid for it which means money doesn't stand as high as her need to help ZL with the little mess she'd made).
I love that ZL is so happy and cute about LS and his mother's cute interactions
And I loved so much the fact that at the end of the episode he was SO LOSING HIS PATIENCE TO LS'S PARENTS cause he knew LS deserves so much love, respect and support. I love it.
And I have to be honest, it was being an interesting episode until ZJ appeared lol I'm so mean, but I love my main couple (and actually I'm also little by little getting more interested in the second couple even tho they didn't appear together in this episode) and I never get tired of watching themmm soo I was like um okay about ZJ's scene falling asleep in class, but then at the end of the episode I liked him cause well he wants to drawn ZL lol, but actually ended up showing LS's parents actual feelings towards LS so it gave pace to ZL to care even more about LS, I'm so looking forward what he will say/do to LS's parents cause she deserves this support so much, and ugh I just loved these two so much, their romance is slow (we'll I'm just in ep 7 what am I expecting lol) but it'S SO CUTEEEEE. Sorry, so getting back to ZL I liked him cause he also cared about LS and inmediately was like "what the hell?" about LS's parents, which means he also have a good heart.
aw I have to say one more time that this episode also made me laugh a lot and the weird scene LS wanted to portray was so funny too, and ZL got from you-are-not-staying-here-tonight to you-can't-leave-tonight, so I appreciate this episode very much lol um so yeah loving his cute stares (and secretly "LS you are so cute!!!" expressions) for LS in this episodes, which were a lot but of course they're never enough
Great episode, it's 2am I always watch Xiao Cai Mi episodes at night cause IT'S A VIBE, and I'm a bit sleepy today but I just can't go to sleep not knowing how ZL will react to defend LS!! so EP 3 here we goooo
little last comment: idk I hope ZL's mum asked ZL to accompany LS to the meal with her parents with a purpose of making them grow closer cause I still found it a bit hater saying like "it is a bit troublesome", at first I actually thought the banquet was for ZL's mum to show she got LS's back as she probably perceives how LS's parents treat them poorly, and that LS would really fee the support, but it turned out -apparently- to be a scenario where ZL can show his real true support to her..... let's wait and seeeeee!!!!!!! I'm so excitedd!!!!!
well, the episode started with the second lead couple and I have to say they are so cute, I like their cute and innocent chemistry, the actors have natural chemistry and seem very comfortable with each other, hope to this day they remain friends. ZJ was shown -once again- totally into PE but in a very cute way and he doesn't seem annoying to me anymore lol PE.. PE... she's cute, but why isn't she there when LS needs her 😭
for the first time I liked ML as a character, but just because she showed a little bit of integrity, she did her best to save LS even tho she hated her so much, maybe because LS showed her humanity to her, now they'll probably turn into friends in no time. I also liked that she won't be annoying (me) LS and ZL anymore cause she isn't interested in ZL anymore (which finally showed the immaturity of her character BUT anyways I'm happy that annoying phase is over). I don't want to be a hater but I still don't understand the importance of her character in the story, I guess she is part of scenes where there is shown LS's humanity and/or give opportunities for the main ship to progress, um but still it isn't convincing for me
aw I love LS, she's a good girl even tho she has had a hard time in life, she has a good heart and is loyal, and I think it's sad that she probably doesn't value her life that much as she probably thinks she isn't important to anyone really
buuuut one cute person is slightly (evidently) showing affection towards her, maybe not in the most perfect way- but it's what he is able to offer rn I guess
he wants to teach her how to write and read, probably because of her own good he was dissappointed that she left cause he knew he wasn't the best part B, but as soon as he knew what was her into, he ran to save her, he even gave up the imperial meeting without a doubt. I hate that he is so blocked into showing feelings, which probably is because he can't even process his own feelings within himself, but I guess it's part of the plot and his character, and I know I'm going to love his progress into loving LS so much
in the previous episode it was so cute how he realized he wanted to be good to LS cause even if they bicker a lot, she actually was a ray of sunshine that he hadn't met before. he wanted to invite her to dinner with mum, he wanted (maybe not in the best way) her to learn how to read and write, he wanted to repair her merchant stuff then suddenly LS was left, he probably thought he could've been nicer to her, but he couldn't make her stay, and he totally got sad and disappointed because LS had left then, as soon as, he realized something was wrong, he got worried about her and in a second his mind went LS>>>>>>>>>>imperial reunion he saved LS. .... but then turned cold!!!!! he can't express his feelings and he can only be cold and mean to her
but then he turned slightly sweet for a second when he helped her with her knee wound, when he gave her the contract (cause he realized mocking her with it wasn't okay)
and then LS remembered what he had done JUST before getting kidnapped........ it was funny actually, the episode turned a bit dark -sometimes funny- and a bit scary but right when ZL showed up to save LS the drama turned funny again. the mum-doctors scene was also funny
AAAAND a cute sceneeeeeeee was a very cute gift at the end of the episode. both ZL and LS realising something, that both their heart started beating faster when they got too close to each other. ZL realizing he may not be as afraid of women as he thought, and I like that LS is very conscious and careful about it, not getting over ZL limits in terms of his apparent fobia. I'd like to watch a scene where LS thinks about ZL's fobia maybe realising that the reason for it was his heartbreak, maybe her feeling jealous idk, I'll just wait and see And it was also so cute that LS got flustered too after they got to close to each other. SO SWEET. oh and her drinking tea from the tea pot hahhah cute. "I must be going crazy"-ZL, being the final words of the episode 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭I'm excited too watch how this ginofobia thing will develop and get better
oh and about the external merchant plot, well, I have to be honest, I don't really like dramas wwhere everything is about that plot line, at one point I don't understand anything that's happening lol, but with this drama, I think that plot line is soft and not too heavy in terms of complicated affair, I can keep with it and it doesn't feel boring or complicated at least for now
As always, I love how ZL's mum is so cute to Ling Se and that she likes her very much. And I also loved when the discussion turned from businness stuff suddenly to Ling Se stuff, she showed him the brazalets Ling Se gifted her and he got so happy aw so cute I can't. ******first glimpses of his heart silently calling for LS.
AWWW I will point out THE FIRST MOMENT XU ZILU showed and kind of admitted the first glimpses of feelings towards our cute Ling Se. He literally didn't care about the argue between Meili and Ling Se , he was just defending her, in the previous episode, hihi love this. He told her to rewrite these two books -or else he wouldn't return her money to her- just (1. to help her learning how to write/read) and 2. so she would be stay at home worrying she might be hurt because of Meili revenge for the situation as Meili might go too far. Loved how Fuding convinced XZL to change his strategic, so Ling Se would feel his sincerity.
LOVED Xu Zilu realizing he started caring about Ling Se. He wanted to make things right between them. I love this, he's probably discovering he might be having some feelings towards her. When XZL commented that he wanted to try to show his sincerity and concern towards Ling Se more directly by telling her and inviting her to dinner with their mum, Fuding was like hihi this is startinggggg, love it.
Fuding is still cute and funny haha, I'm a little sad he doesn't have more screentime, he's a fun and light character. - Even if sometimes just sometimes he kinds of annoys be when he supports ZL's annoying acts and thoughts.
In one of the last scenes of this episode, where ZL and his mum were having dinner, his mum got emotional cause she was proud his son was a grown up, guiding their bussiness, and was even getting married, remembering LZ father would be so proud of him. This was right after ZL realized LS might've escaped and left home forever. And I can't help but asume he was touched by what his mum was saying because maybe just maybe he'd just found a woman that caught his attention and emotions without a warning. Someone he wanted to get to discover, someone he would be eager to love. But just know, for him, everything might be lost forever, because of his miscomunication and arrogance towards Ling Se. At this point he still doesn't have a clue about the actual situation.
I think I'm liking Ping Er a bit more, she's actually cute, and it's actually cute that she's always eating lol. And apparently she wants to be by LS's side and supports her even if LS's ideas are somehow extras.
I still get confused as to why LS isn't confused at the fact that PE was a burglar, like she's literally an intelectual, she likes to study, she knows how to read and write. But apparently LS hasn't asked her about her past or how she ended up in the streets, and apparently PE hasn't told LS about it either. I still like their friendship. LS takes her of her and treats PE as her family and sister.
About PE couple with the boyy, today I actually got excited by their *cute scene*. He is getting cuter (not annoying anymore at least in this episode), she's also getting cuter. He totally got into her the moment he saw her and I like that he protects her as well and that they instantly became friends. It's cute. And I liked the fact her caught her in his arms instantly asking her if she was okay. I like their soft sweet chemistry. But one thing about him that got me confused is his age, is he attending school? But wasn't he childhood friends with XZL?, um I'm still lost at that backstory. I hope we get some explanation about it cause why would they bought it up if they're never going to address it or else be important for the story. But still, I'm into knowing all the tea.
I also remembered that LS was supposed to be just 18 years old while ZXL is older, like 24 yo. I like the age gap in their characters, it would be nice it would also be adressed (but I'm still confused at the caracters ages lol)
I started getting bothered by Meili again BUT things changed a little bit at the end of the episode (kind of losing my patience at first lol I was like WHY is she still having screen time for the same thing over and over again -her "hater" for Ling Se-). Their argue scene wasn't that funny -except for the part where LS starts running "who is the fastest?". But I liked the fact that even if Meili was really a pain in the ash to LS, LS still wants to be good to her, even risking her life letting Meili escape. And I have to say I loved the plot twist in the relationship between these two characters, this was way better than the stupid hate cycle from Meili to LS without even a real reason. Apparently, Meili actually isn't a no-feeling girl and wanted to come back to rescue her anyways, which means she isn't really a bad person, she's just a spoiled child. Also, I actually like the fact that she relies completely on his father and that she's really her father's only priority and most important thing in his world. Not a, but I like when character priorities their loved ones.
Let me say that I was so touched by Ling Se and her mother-in-law scene 🥹🥹🥹, love that Zilu's mother is very caring to Ling Se, she immediately realized that she was a girl with a good and pure heart and that she would be good to his son, that she has suffered a lot in the past and that she didn't have anyone to rely on or to be loved by, and she really offers her comfort, love, and tells her she has a mother now and that she will protect her from now on and that she won't ever let anyone hurt her. Love that LS sees LZ's mum sincerity towards her as well. ZL's mum kind of knows this (their sudden marriage) was something fishy, but she still likes LS and genuinely wants to make her part of her family cause she knows she is a good girl.
Fuding was hilarious as always.
Ping Er was meh in this episode, now I think it's cute that she's always eating something but still IDK. I like that LS has a best friend that accompanies her, but it still bothers me that PE doesn't tell LS about her story and past. But I still laughed at the fact that she was mocking LS about her wanting to stay.
Now about my main fav thing about this drama: LS & ZL 🥰 I actually found it funny that at this point it turned to a kind of enemies-lovers trope. It was still cute tho. LS discovered the agreement was fake and wanted to expose ZL to his mum. Aw and that let to a really soft scene between them. And it was also funny that her mum kind of knew that she was going to expose ZL to her, and she really tried to avoid letting LS do it 😂.
As LS had no choice but to go on with their agreement, she decided to try ZL patience -apparently for him to "kick her out" which she knew he wouldn't do cause he needed her-. LS started mocking ZL with innocent and harmless tricks, which turned out really annoying to ZL, and then, of course, he returned it to her. But I love that they mock each other in harmless ways, they don't intend to really hurt each other's feelings, which they totally could, I guess.
The only thing that I didn't like in this EP was Mei Li, why does she have that much screen time I hate it 🥲 I know her angriness towards ZL has to be shown in order to build this external conflict with her dad's business-ZL's business, but still, maybe it was too much screen time and she's really annoying me 😅
BUT it actually gave space to a tiny development in LS & ZL's relationship, as ZL immediately defended LS. ML wanted LS to apologize and kneel to her until she felt better, ZL Immediately refused to it. He wouldn't let LS lose her dignity, and wanted to keep her out of this. He also defended her, pointing out at ML's temper, so even if he just got to know LS (and still things she's not really a harmful person) he knew that most probably things were not as ML's servants were saying, it makes two to build a quarrel. Maybe he was even surprised at the fact that he cared about LS, and probably because of that, when his uncle pointed it out, he gave more importance to the fact this part B of business was not really a reliable counterpart to make business with because of their behaviour (ML's dad unprofessional behaviour).
I have to say, I still enjoy the bickering chemistry between them, I am sooo looking forward to ZL realizing he might be starting to develop feelings towards LS. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Since I've waited for this project for almost 2 years, I just can't let myself binge-watch it! I don't know when we will get another Yiqin and Jiaqi's project, so I'm trying to enjoy it and watch it veeery slowly. I've rewatched the first two episodes (and I love them!) multiple times lol, before watching the next episodes.
My thoughts on EP 3
First and foremost: I just love Jiaqi and Yiqin's chemistry so much!! I'm not even kidding when I say they have chemistry just by talking to each other. I feel so happy they got the chance to work together again. I really love what they create by acting together, and I love watching them as different characters, like lovers in a new AU.
Love Jiaqi's character as Ling Se, she's very human and even if she only wants money haha (which I get because it's based on a hurtful past), she's still kind and good-hearted. I'm just feeling soft for Ling Se.
Zilu is slowly turning into a more interesting character now, he's a bit naughty tho, it scares me a bit because I don't know if he will be careful with Ling Se's feelings. I know she's a money grubber, but she's just asking for her part, and he's just not letting her have it! If you're rich, why don't just let her have her part! (maybe I'm still annoyed at the fact that Zilu is not sweet from the beginning and that he's a hater! -for now-). Ling Se is nice (to him), not a troublemaker, and she's just trying to do her part of their agreement right, but he's mean to her! like whyyy
I still like how she's the only woman he can tolerate physical contact with (even if he barely tolerates it lol) I also like that he's not imposing the fake marriage to her, but actually proposing a "fair" agreement -AT LEAST AT THE BEGINNING now he's becoming a bit mean to her.
Anyways, WHAT I HATED IN TODAY'S EPISODE IS HOW THEY SKIPPED THE WEDDING PART. I do not approve!!! WHY THEY DECIDED TO NOT SHOW THEIR -FAKE- MARRIAGE, and instead gave too much screen time to a character that is not even important for now. Even if the marriage was fake, it would be a great scene to watch!! 😭😭😭 I'd have loved to watch their bickering chemistry during their fake marriage, Zilu's poker face when Ling Se touches him (cause they have to pretend to be in love obviously), ugh so sad.
Aw I have to say, I love Zilu's mother. She's just so sweet to Ling Se and I already love their relationship as mother/daughter in law. And I repeat it, I love that Zilu's mum is more interested in the heart than in the name of the one his son is going to marry to. Her character is so funny too!! I laugh a lot in her scenes! They like to roast Zilu together haha
And I LOVE that she doesn't care if it's a fake relationship, which she totally intuits it is. I LOVE that she wants the marriage to happen ASAP because it's the point of no return for them, and I LOVE that she has faith they will ultimately work out as a couple. I think it's so cute.
The scene where the giant man was terrified by Fuding and had to go to look for Ping Er was so funny too!!
I have to say I got a little annoyed by some characters today. First. Mei Li!!!!!! why did she have that much screen time, is not even justified! we might've got the wedding part but no, they left 3 annoying and meaningless scenes of Mei Li crying over Zilu -which relationship we don't know anything about, and honestly I don't even care about oops-. At least I hope they give the character a justified reason to exist, cause if not it would mean a lot of screen time lost (and not available for my fav couple😭) I also got a bit annoyed by Ping Er and Ling Se's little brother. Idk what exactly is that annoys me about Ping Er, but I feel like she wasn't that worried about Ling Se when she was missing, and then just got so mad at her because she'd forgotten about her, but Ling Se literally woke up in the morning because she was worried about Ping Er, idk she's a little lazy and expect Ling Se to be in charge of her, and Ling Se is so cute cause even if she worries about money that much, she doesn't mind sharing her money with Ping Er and doing business together, she shares her happiness and all that she has with her without being selfish or miserly. But Ping Er is literally hiding secrets from her, isn't honesty the bare minimum for a friendship this deep? I liked that Ling Se's brother was cute and genuinely worried about his sister (especially because it was unlike the rest of her family), but in this episode the character was just too dumb with his actions, he stressed me a little bit. And it also annoyed me a little that Ling Se doesn't recognize he's worried about her, and she's just mean to him -at least until now (2 scenes lol), hope she values her brother's sincerity towards her, but I also hope the brother chills out a little and stops being so impulsive!!
I also didn't like how mean Xilu got towards the end of the episode. He didn't have to, he literally started all of this! I still liked the bickering chemistry between them LOL, IT'S SO GOOD even when Zilu is still in his no-physical-contact phase.
My annoyingness towards Zhu Jue is calmer now, he's becoming a sweet character (for my eyes haha) mainly towards Ping Er obviously, cause obviously he got interested in her the moment he saw her. But Ping Er still annoys me a little bit lol, she's always like "I don't really care, I just want to eat".
Cute things of EP 3: - Yiqin and Jiaqi's chemistry - Yiqin and Jiaqi arguing in a wedding ancient costume - enjoyed a lot the funny scenes laughed a lot during the episode (mostly because of Fuding and Zilu's mum in this EP) - Ling Se and Zilu's mum daughter/mother in law relationship starting - Zilu's mum being cute towards Ling Se - Ling Se and Zilu's mum cutely making fun of Xilu (cause he deservess itttt for now) - Zilu's mum knowing the situation was fishy and going forward with it anyway hehe - Ling Se caring deeply about Ping Er - Fuding cause he's a fun character to watch - Zhu Jue becoming sweet for my eyes ahah)

Love watching these two together again, and I love that it's a completely different concept comparing to their other two dramas, they totally needed a costume drama hehe I'll still be waiting for their 4th project together!! Sorry not sorry haha Actually, My girl's director made a promise with them for the three of them to work together again, so I'm expecting to hear from that soon or else we should remind him!
I have to say that overall it's been hilarious, characters are well written, and I love how their love story is starting, the pace of the story is perfect so far. And the vibe is so cosy and cute.
Bear with me if: 1. I speak in writers-words, but I'm a writer so unconsciously I overanalyze the story, plot, characters, etc. 2. My English is not grammatically correct, my mother tongue language is Spanish.
Love that from EP 1 we know what the characters are struggling with (for the writers-drama watchers out there, internal conflict) we know why they want what they want, we know what happened to them to make them want that. So it's not a shallow desire for them, it means something. And we, as viewers, genuinely start empathizing with them (which is key for keeping us interested in the story).
We know that Ling Se wants to make money because she wants to be independent, as she's hurting living with her "family". Her mother died when she was young, her father doesn't care about her at all (btw that scene in which her father is drunk is really heartbreaking, poor Ling Se🥺), her stepmother only treats her as a servant and hurts her (she literally sold her!).
We know that Zilu doesn't want to get married at any cost because he was left at the altar by his childhood lover. He's really known for being "afraid of women" lol.
They both bumped into each other's paths naturally, got against each other's goals, and finally ended up helping each other because the situation was exactly what they needed to reach their personal goals: - Ling Se: being finally free from her "family", getting her own shop, this allowing her to be independent, which was what she was hoping for, for years. - Xu Zilu: He was being pushed by his mother, if he didn't marry soon, she would give the business title of the family to his uncle. And as he had to marry someone, he'd still hope to find someone that wouldn't really like to marry him, or marry at all. And he found Ling Se. Ling Se affirmed that we would never marry someone, because she would never lean on someone else (which was also a wound that existed because of the relationship she has had with her family).
Love the way the characters ended up in each other's paths. It was well written.
I love that the writing (so far) has had a perfect pace, and they've managed to show the internal and the external plot with a perfect balance. Hope it keeps this way!
**I really hope they make some justice to all of this backstory they're promising. If Xu Zilu got heartbroken by this childhood lover who left him at the altar, I really hope this doesn't stay in the air. I hope it's a topic that is present and not forgotten, because if he will start falling for Ling Se, he totally has to make peace with his past.
I loved the scene of the marital agreement!! I love how they are only on this for their own sake, but this will eventually turn into something more between them!!! The scene was funny. The mum was funny. I really love this haha, this love team really needed a fake marriage trope. I'm enjoying it a lot so far. And I really liked that Xu Zilu didn't force her into marrying him, he cconvinced her haha. And it's funny that he can't touch women and Ling Se still does it unintentionally and he's so shocked. Um they are just so cute I can't. I'm patiently waiting for him to fall for her as I know he falls for her first hihi.
Genre I laughed a lot, this is totally a light romance-comedy, hope it keeps along those lines and not turn too angsty or too theoretical, because I'm enjoying it a lot so far like this.
Side characters The side characters are cute! Fuding is cute and funny, most of the time that I've laughed watching these first 2 episodes has been because of him hehe. Zu Xilu's mum is so funny too, I love that she's not the typical superficial mother, but one that more than finding a suitable partner for his son in terms of business and convenience, I'm sure she's more interested in finding someone that loves his son and that his son loves, and someone that he then can rely on. Ling Se's little brother is cute too, he's innocent and loves his sister. I think it's very cute (and funny) how he tries doing good things for his sister as he really cares about her, but he ends up failing haha. I might be a little bit interested in the side couple as I can foresee what their plot will be about, but I'm still like um I don't know. I'm still not so sure how I feel about him. He's a bit annoying in scenes with Zilu, but he's quite cute in his scenes with Ping Er. And Ping Er Is cute, but I still don't see a reproducible personality in her scenes, so I still don't have much interest in her as a character. I'll have to wait and see. But, still, their love story looks promising based on what I'm expecting will happen. The friendship between Ling Se and Ping Er is meh for me so far. I love that Ling Se considers her and Ping Er family, and I love how they got to meet each other, cause it shows that Ling Se has a kind heart even if money is at stake (which is pretty much the compass the character has). But maybe I'm not that convinced in the fact that Ping Er cares about her as well, she's a bit lazy with their shop haha and she obviously has a secret past but she hasn't trusted Ling Se enough to tell her about her big secret, which is sad, and it makes me question if their friendship is real to Ping Er.. um but let's see how their friendship keeps developing in the next episodes. About the situation ship between Xu Zilu and 2nd lead, I don't get it haha, they don't give much detail into what happened between these two characters, and why he's so resentful of Xu ZZilu, and Zilu like doesn't even care lol. Still not sure about the girl that wants to marry Xilu, as I know she might get annoying, but I hope I'm mistaken. And I can't find her importance in the story so that is annoying me a little bit lol, but I tend to be a hater towards second male/female leads so this might not be an objective POV.
Dub voices I have to say that I totally hated the fact that the actors didn't dub their voices, Wait my youth and My girl were dubbed by them and that was something I loved. l know that Chinese dramas are always dubbed, but I really hate "generic" dubs, cause it feels like the characters are robots, most of the time, genuine expressions are not part of it, and it makes the characters boring and not like real people. Plus, the fact that the original actors dub their own characters makes the character overall feel more real. I was really afraid that it would be a turn-off for me. But, surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I expected. At first it was weird as I'm used to hearing their original voice, but the dub actors (Ling Se's dub actor a bit more than Zilu's dub actor tho) have done a pretty good job. And I'm so invested in the story, I actually forget the dubbing voices are not their original voices.
Acting I love Li Jiaqi as Ling Se, she's so cute. I love actors that are versatile. This personality seems fresh and new in her. It's totally different from Jiaqi's previous characters (like Can Can, Meng Hui, etc.). As for Yiqin, um, I want to give him a few more episodes to decide this, hope this character shows a different light from the other characters he had portrayed before in other dramas. I think he is good at acting, but I'm not really sure if he's very good at being versatile. I still have a lot of projects of him on my to-watch list. But I think Xu Zilu still has this apathetic, a bit arrogant kind of personality (similar to Tian Ye, similar to Shen Yi). I really hoped Xu Zilu was a softer character, a different vibe. But I'm still on EP 2, so I might be talking earlier than I should. (I know that he will turn soft for her and that he will then be a softer version of Xu Zilu, but I still hoped he would be a soft character or a different-vibe character from the very beginning, idk).
I still think that, every time Yiqin works with Jiaqi, she somehow empowers him, and his performance turns out outstanding. So I'm excited to watch that!

and as always, I laughed a lot watching it, I wasn't really in a good mood but I ended up smilinggg
one of the things I love about this drama is the fact it centres a lot in the internal struggle of the characters, so, they start growing closer to each other by knowing about their past, their struggles, the things they are hurt by, and by helping each other, and I find it so heart-warming.
by this episode is evident they both care about each other, they want each other to be okay, they want to help each other, but they don't question it to themselves.. yet
XZL is evidently already having a big crush on LS, LS probably hasn't realized it yet, she's actually very innocent
I loved when characters and facts take part of a bigger picture than just a random setting, in this episode we know that by LS's good heart she became friends with the foreign man (when she stood by him when they were both at the verge of death). I think LS is so cute trying to help ZL, trying to make up for the little mistake he made before (I don't blame her for making up the rumors honestly lol, ZL was being mean!!) but still she discovered he actually had a good heart and actually cared about her, which I think is so rare to her based on here past. She did her best to stop the rumors (and even paid for it which means money doesn't stand as high as her need to help ZL with the little mess she'd made).
I love that ZL is so happy and cute about LS and his mother's cute interactions
And I loved so much the fact that at the end of the episode he was SO LOSING HIS PATIENCE TO LS'S PARENTS cause he knew LS deserves so much love, respect and support. I love it.
And I have to be honest, it was being an interesting episode until ZJ appeared lol I'm so mean, but I love my main couple (and actually I'm also little by little getting more interested in the second couple even tho they didn't appear together in this episode) and I never get tired of watching themmm soo I was like um okay about ZJ's scene falling asleep in class, but then at the end of the episode I liked him cause well he wants to drawn ZL lol, but actually ended up showing LS's parents actual feelings towards LS so it gave pace to ZL to care even more about LS, I'm so looking forward what he will say/do to LS's parents cause she deserves this support so much, and ugh I just loved these two so much, their romance is slow (we'll I'm just in ep 7 what am I expecting lol) but it'S SO CUTEEEEE. Sorry, so getting back to ZL I liked him cause he also cared about LS and inmediately was like "what the hell?" about LS's parents, which means he also have a good heart.
aw I have to say one more time that this episode also made me laugh a lot and the weird scene LS wanted to portray was so funny too, and ZL got from you-are-not-staying-here-tonight to you-can't-leave-tonight, so I appreciate this episode very much lol um so yeah loving his cute stares (and secretly "LS you are so cute!!!" expressions) for LS in this episodes, which were a lot but of course they're never enough

little last comment: idk I hope ZL's mum asked ZL to accompany LS to the meal with her parents with a purpose of making them grow closer cause I still found it a bit hater saying like "it is a bit troublesome", at first I actually thought the banquet was for ZL's mum to show she got LS's back as she probably perceives how LS's parents treat them poorly, and that LS would really fee the support, but it turned out -apparently- to be a scenario where ZL can show his real true support to her..... let's wait and seeeeee!!!!!!! I'm so excitedd!!!!!
well, the episode started with the second lead couple and I have to say they are so cute, I like their cute and innocent chemistry, the actors have natural chemistry and seem very comfortable with each other, hope to this day they remain friends.
ZJ was shown -once again- totally into PE but in a very cute way and he doesn't seem annoying to me anymore lol
PE.. PE... she's cute, but why isn't she there when LS needs her 😭
for the first time I liked ML as a character, but just because she showed a little bit of integrity, she did her best to save LS even tho she hated her so much, maybe because LS showed her humanity to her, now they'll probably turn into friends in no time. I also liked that she won't be annoying (me) LS and ZL anymore cause she isn't interested in ZL anymore (which finally showed the immaturity of her character BUT anyways I'm happy that annoying phase is over). I don't want to be a hater but I still don't understand the importance of her character in the story, I guess she is part of scenes where there is shown LS's humanity and/or give opportunities for the main ship to progress, um but still it isn't convincing for me
aw I love LS, she's a good girl even tho she has had a hard time in life, she has a good heart and is loyal, and I think it's sad that she probably doesn't value her life that much as she probably thinks she isn't important to anyone really
buuuut one cute person is slightly (evidently) showing affection towards her, maybe not in the most perfect way- but it's what he is able to offer rn I guess

in the previous episode it was so cute how he realized he wanted to be good to LS cause even if they bicker a lot, she actually was a ray of sunshine that he hadn't met before. he wanted to invite her to dinner with mum, he wanted (maybe not in the best way) her to learn how to read and write, he wanted to repair her merchant stuff
then suddenly LS was left, he probably thought he could've been nicer to her, but he couldn't make her stay, and he totally got sad and disappointed because LS had left
then, as soon as, he realized something was wrong, he got worried about her and in a second his mind went LS>>>>>>>>>>imperial reunion
he saved LS.

but then turned cold!!!!! he can't express his feelings and he can only be cold and mean to her
but then he turned slightly sweet for a second when he helped her with her knee wound, when he gave her the contract (cause he realized mocking her with it wasn't okay)
and then LS remembered what he had done JUST before getting kidnapped........
it was funny actually, the episode turned a bit dark -sometimes funny- and a bit scary but right when ZL showed up to save LS the drama turned funny again. the mum-doctors scene was also funny
AAAAND a cute sceneeeeeeee was a very cute gift at the end of the episode.
both ZL and LS realising something, that both their heart started beating faster when they got too close to each other.
ZL realizing he may not be as afraid of women as he thought, and I like that LS is very conscious and careful about it, not getting over ZL limits in terms of his apparent fobia. I'd like to watch a scene where LS thinks about ZL's fobia maybe realising that the reason for it was his heartbreak, maybe her feeling jealous idk, I'll just wait and see
And it was also so cute that LS got flustered too after they got to close to each other. SO SWEET. oh and her drinking tea from the tea pot hahhah cute.
"I must be going crazy"-ZL, being the final words of the episode 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭I'm excited too watch how this ginofobia thing will develop and get better
oh and about the external merchant plot, well, I have to be honest, I don't really like dramas wwhere everything is about that plot line, at one point I don't understand anything that's happening lol, but with this drama, I think that plot line is soft and not too heavy in terms of complicated affair, I can keep with it and it doesn't feel boring or complicated at least for now
As always, I love how ZL's mum is so cute to Ling Se and that she likes her very much. And I also loved when the discussion turned from businness stuff suddenly to Ling Se stuff, she showed him the brazalets Ling Se gifted her and he got so happy aw so cute I can't. ******first glimpses of his heart silently calling for LS.
AWWW I will point out THE FIRST MOMENT XU ZILU showed and kind of admitted the first glimpses of feelings towards our cute Ling Se. He literally didn't care about the argue between Meili and Ling Se , he was just defending her, in the previous episode, hihi love this.
He told her to rewrite these two books -or else he wouldn't return her money to her- just (1. to help her learning how to write/read) and 2. so she would be stay at home worrying she might be hurt because of Meili revenge for the situation as Meili might go too far.
Loved how Fuding convinced XZL to change his strategic, so Ling Se would feel his sincerity.
LOVED Xu Zilu realizing he started caring about Ling Se. He wanted to make things right between them. I love this, he's probably discovering he might be having some feelings towards her. When XZL commented that he wanted to try to show his sincerity and concern towards Ling Se more directly by telling her and inviting her to dinner with their mum, Fuding was like hihi this is startinggggg, love it.
Fuding is still cute and funny haha, I'm a little sad he doesn't have more screentime, he's a fun and light character. - Even if sometimes just sometimes he kinds of annoys be when he supports ZL's annoying acts and thoughts.
In one of the last scenes of this episode, where ZL and his mum were having dinner, his mum got emotional cause she was proud his son was a grown up, guiding their bussiness, and was even getting married, remembering LZ father would be so proud of him.
This was right after ZL realized LS might've escaped and left home forever.
And I can't help but asume he was touched by what his mum was saying because maybe just maybe he'd just found a woman that caught his attention and emotions without a warning. Someone he wanted to get to discover, someone he would be eager to love. But just know, for him, everything might be lost forever, because of his miscomunication and arrogance towards Ling Se.
At this point he still doesn't have a clue about the actual situation.
I think I'm liking Ping Er a bit more, she's actually cute, and it's actually cute that she's always eating lol. And apparently she wants to be by LS's side and supports her even if LS's ideas are somehow extras.
I still get confused as to why LS isn't confused at the fact that PE was a burglar, like she's literally an intelectual, she likes to study, she knows how to read and write. But apparently LS hasn't asked her about her past or how she ended up in the streets, and apparently PE hasn't told LS about it either.
I still like their friendship. LS takes her of her and treats PE as her family and sister.
About PE couple with the boyy, today I actually got excited by their *cute scene*. He is getting cuter (not annoying anymore at least in this episode), she's also getting cuter. He totally got into her the moment he saw her and I like that he protects her as well and that they instantly became friends. It's cute. And I liked the fact her caught her in his arms instantly asking her if she was okay. I like their soft sweet chemistry.
But one thing about him that got me confused is his age, is he attending school? But wasn't he childhood friends with XZL?, um I'm still lost at that backstory. I hope we get some explanation about it cause why would they bought it up if they're never going to address it or else be important for the story. But still, I'm into knowing all the tea.
I also remembered that LS was supposed to be just 18 years old while ZXL is older, like 24 yo. I like the age gap in their characters, it would be nice it would also be adressed (but I'm still confused at the caracters ages lol)
I started getting bothered by Meili again BUT things changed a little bit at the end of the episode (kind of losing my patience at first lol I was like WHY is she still having screen time for the same thing over and over again -her "hater" for Ling Se-).
Their argue scene wasn't that funny -except for the part where LS starts running "who is the fastest?".
But I liked the fact that even if Meili was really a pain in the ash to LS, LS still wants to be good to her, even risking her life letting Meili escape.
And I have to say I loved the plot twist in the relationship between these two characters, this was way better than the stupid hate cycle from Meili to LS without even a real reason.
Apparently, Meili actually isn't a no-feeling girl and wanted to come back to rescue her anyways, which means she isn't really a bad person, she's just a spoiled child.
Also, I actually like the fact that she relies completely on his father and that she's really her father's only priority and most important thing in his world. Not a, but I like when character priorities their loved ones.

Let me say that I was so touched by Ling Se and her mother-in-law scene 🥹🥹🥹, love that Zilu's mother is very caring to Ling Se, she immediately realized that she was a girl with a good and pure heart and that she would be good to his son, that she has suffered a lot in the past and that she didn't have anyone to rely on or to be loved by, and she really offers her comfort, love, and tells her she has a mother now and that she will protect her from now on and that she won't ever let anyone hurt her.
Love that LS sees LZ's mum sincerity towards her as well.
ZL's mum kind of knows this (their sudden marriage) was something fishy, but she still likes LS and genuinely wants to make her part of her family cause she knows she is a good girl.
Fuding was hilarious as always.
Ping Er was meh in this episode, now I think it's cute that she's always eating something but still IDK. I like that LS has a best friend that accompanies her, but it still bothers me that PE doesn't tell LS about her story and past. But I still laughed at the fact that she was mocking LS about her wanting to stay.
Now about my main fav thing about this drama: LS & ZL 🥰
I actually found it funny that at this point it turned to a kind of enemies-lovers trope.
It was still cute tho.
LS discovered the agreement was fake and wanted to expose ZL to his mum. Aw and that let to a really soft scene between them. And it was also funny that her mum kind of knew that she was going to expose ZL to her, and she really tried to avoid letting LS do it 😂.
As LS had no choice but to go on with their agreement, she decided to try ZL patience -apparently for him to "kick her out" which she knew he wouldn't do cause he needed her-.
LS started mocking ZL with innocent and harmless tricks, which turned out really annoying to ZL, and then, of course, he returned it to her.
But I love that they mock each other in harmless ways, they don't intend to really hurt each other's feelings, which they totally could, I guess.
The only thing that I didn't like in this EP was Mei Li, why does she have that much screen time I hate it 🥲 I know her angriness towards ZL has to be shown in order to build this external conflict with her dad's business-ZL's business, but still, maybe it was too much screen time and she's really annoying me 😅
BUT it actually gave space to a tiny development in LS & ZL's relationship, as ZL immediately defended LS.
ML wanted LS to apologize and kneel to her until she felt better, ZL Immediately refused to it. He wouldn't let LS lose her dignity, and wanted to keep her out of this.
He also defended her, pointing out at ML's temper, so even if he just got to know LS (and still things she's not really a harmful person) he knew that most probably things were not as ML's servants were saying, it makes two to build a quarrel.
Maybe he was even surprised at the fact that he cared about LS, and probably because of that, when his uncle pointed it out, he gave more importance to the fact this part B of business was not really a reliable counterpart to make business with because of their behaviour (ML's dad unprofessional behaviour).
I have to say, I still enjoy the bickering chemistry between them, I am sooo looking forward to ZL realizing he might be starting to develop feelings towards LS. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

My thoughts on EP 3
First and foremost:
I just love Jiaqi and Yiqin's chemistry so much!! I'm not even kidding when I say they have chemistry just by talking to each other.
I feel so happy they got the chance to work together again.
I really love what they create by acting together, and I love watching them as different characters, like lovers in a new AU.
Love Jiaqi's character as Ling Se, she's very human and even if she only wants money haha (which I get because it's based on a hurtful past), she's still kind and good-hearted. I'm just feeling soft for Ling Se.
Zilu is slowly turning into a more interesting character now, he's a bit naughty tho, it scares me a bit because I don't know if he will be careful with Ling Se's feelings. I know she's a money grubber, but she's just asking for her part, and he's just not letting her have it! If you're rich, why don't just let her have her part! (maybe I'm still annoyed at the fact that Zilu is not sweet from the beginning and that he's a hater! -for now-). Ling Se is nice (to him), not a troublemaker, and she's just trying to do her part of their agreement right, but he's mean to her! like whyyy
I still like how she's the only woman he can tolerate physical contact with (even if he barely tolerates it lol)
I also like that he's not imposing the fake marriage to her, but actually proposing a "fair" agreement -AT LEAST AT THE BEGINNING now he's becoming a bit mean to her.
Anyways, WHAT I HATED IN TODAY'S EPISODE IS HOW THEY SKIPPED THE WEDDING PART. I do not approve!!! WHY THEY DECIDED TO NOT SHOW THEIR -FAKE- MARRIAGE, and instead gave too much screen time to a character that is not even important for now.
Even if the marriage was fake, it would be a great scene to watch!! 😭😭😭 I'd have loved to watch their bickering chemistry during their fake marriage, Zilu's poker face when Ling Se touches him (cause they have to pretend to be in love obviously), ugh so sad.
Aw I have to say, I love Zilu's mother. She's just so sweet to Ling Se and I already love their relationship as mother/daughter in law.
And I repeat it, I love that Zilu's mum is more interested in the heart than in the name of the one his son is going to marry to. Her character is so funny too!! I laugh a lot in her scenes! They like to roast Zilu together haha
And I LOVE that she doesn't care if it's a fake relationship, which she totally intuits it is. I LOVE that she wants the marriage to happen ASAP because it's the point of no return for them, and I LOVE that she has faith they will ultimately work out as a couple. I think it's so cute.
The scene where the giant man was terrified by Fuding and had to go to look for Ping Er was so funny too!!
I have to say I got a little annoyed by some characters today.
First. Mei Li!!!!!! why did she have that much screen time, is not even justified! we might've got the wedding part but no, they left 3 annoying and meaningless scenes of Mei Li crying over Zilu -which relationship we don't know anything about, and honestly I don't even care about oops-. At least I hope they give the character a justified reason to exist, cause if not it would mean a lot of screen time lost (and not available for my fav couple😭)
I also got a bit annoyed by Ping Er and Ling Se's little brother.
Idk what exactly is that annoys me about Ping Er, but I feel like she wasn't that worried about Ling Se when she was missing, and then just got so mad at her because she'd forgotten about her, but Ling Se literally woke up in the morning because she was worried about Ping Er, idk she's a little lazy and expect Ling Se to be in charge of her, and Ling Se is so cute cause even if she worries about money that much, she doesn't mind sharing her money with Ping Er and doing business together, she shares her happiness and all that she has with her without being selfish or miserly. But Ping Er is literally hiding secrets from her, isn't honesty the bare minimum for a friendship this deep?
I liked that Ling Se's brother was cute and genuinely worried about his sister (especially because it was unlike the rest of her family), but in this episode the character was just too dumb with his actions, he stressed me a little bit. And it also annoyed me a little that Ling Se doesn't recognize he's worried about her, and she's just mean to him -at least until now (2 scenes lol), hope she values her brother's sincerity towards her, but I also hope the brother chills out a little and stops being so impulsive!!
I also didn't like how mean Xilu got towards the end of the episode. He didn't have to, he literally started all of this!
I still liked the bickering chemistry between them LOL, IT'S SO GOOD even when Zilu is still in his no-physical-contact phase.
My annoyingness towards Zhu Jue is calmer now, he's becoming a sweet character (for my eyes haha) mainly towards Ping Er obviously, cause obviously he got interested in her the moment he saw her. But Ping Er still annoys me a little bit lol, she's always like "I don't really care, I just want to eat".
Cute things of EP 3:
- Yiqin and Jiaqi's chemistry
- Yiqin and Jiaqi arguing in a wedding ancient costume
- enjoyed a lot the funny scenes laughed a lot during the episode (mostly because of Fuding and Zilu's mum in this EP)
- Ling Se and Zilu's mum daughter/mother in law relationship starting
- Zilu's mum being cute towards Ling Se
- Ling Se and Zilu's mum cutely making fun of Xilu (cause he deservess itttt for now)
- Zilu's mum knowing the situation was fishy and going forward with it anyway hehe
- Ling Se caring deeply about Ping Er
- Fuding cause he's a fun character to watch

I have to say that overall it's been hilarious, characters are well written, and I love how their love story is starting, the pace of the story is perfect so far. And the vibe is so cosy and cute.
Bear with me if: 1. I speak in writers-words, but I'm a writer so unconsciously I overanalyze the story, plot, characters, etc. 2. My English is not grammatically correct, my mother tongue language is Spanish.
Love that from EP 1 we know what the characters are struggling with (for the writers-drama watchers out there, internal conflict) we know why they want what they want, we know what happened to them to make them want that. So it's not a shallow desire for them, it means something. And we, as viewers, genuinely start empathizing with them (which is key for keeping us interested in the story).
We know that Ling Se wants to make money because she wants to be independent, as she's hurting living with her "family". Her mother died when she was young, her father doesn't care about her at all (btw that scene in which her father is drunk is really heartbreaking, poor Ling Se🥺), her stepmother only treats her as a servant and hurts her (she literally sold her!).
We know that Zilu doesn't want to get married at any cost because he was left at the altar by his childhood lover. He's really known for being "afraid of women" lol.
They both bumped into each other's paths naturally, got against each other's goals, and finally ended up helping each other because the situation was exactly what they needed to reach their personal goals:
- Ling Se: being finally free from her "family", getting her own shop, this allowing her to be independent, which was what she was hoping for, for years.
- Xu Zilu: He was being pushed by his mother, if he didn't marry soon, she would give the business title of the family to his uncle. And as he had to marry someone, he'd still hope to find someone that wouldn't really like to marry him, or marry at all. And he found Ling Se. Ling Se affirmed that we would never marry someone, because she would never lean on someone else (which was also a wound that existed because of the relationship she has had with her family).
Love the way the characters ended up in each other's paths. It was well written.
I love that the writing (so far) has had a perfect pace, and they've managed to show the internal and the external plot with a perfect balance. Hope it keeps this way!
**I really hope they make some justice to all of this backstory they're promising. If Xu Zilu got heartbroken by this childhood lover who left him at the altar, I really hope this doesn't stay in the air. I hope it's a topic that is present and not forgotten, because if he will start falling for Ling Se, he totally has to make peace with his past.
I loved the scene of the marital agreement!! I love how they are only on this for their own sake, but this will eventually turn into something more between them!!! The scene was funny. The mum was funny. I really love this haha, this love team really needed a fake marriage trope. I'm enjoying it a lot so far. And I really liked that Xu Zilu didn't force her into marrying him, he cconvinced her haha. And it's funny that he can't touch women and Ling Se still does it unintentionally and he's so shocked. Um they are just so cute I can't. I'm patiently waiting for him to fall for her as I know he falls for her first hihi.
Genre
I laughed a lot, this is totally a light romance-comedy, hope it keeps along those lines and not turn too angsty or too theoretical, because I'm enjoying it a lot so far like this.
Side characters
The side characters are cute!
Fuding is cute and funny, most of the time that I've laughed watching these first 2 episodes has been because of him hehe.
Zu Xilu's mum is so funny too, I love that she's not the typical superficial mother, but one that more than finding a suitable partner for his son in terms of business and convenience, I'm sure she's more interested in finding someone that loves his son and that his son loves, and someone that he then can rely on.
Ling Se's little brother is cute too, he's innocent and loves his sister. I think it's very cute (and funny) how he tries doing good things for his sister as he really cares about her, but he ends up failing haha.
I might be a little bit interested in the side couple as I can foresee what their plot will be about, but I'm still like um I don't know. I'm still not so sure how I feel about him. He's a bit annoying in scenes with Zilu, but he's quite cute in his scenes with Ping Er.
And Ping Er Is cute, but I still don't see a reproducible personality in her scenes, so I still don't have much interest in her as a character. I'll have to wait and see. But, still, their love story looks promising based on what I'm expecting will happen.
The friendship between Ling Se and Ping Er is meh for me so far. I love that Ling Se considers her and Ping Er family, and I love how they got to meet each other, cause it shows that Ling Se has a kind heart even if money is at stake (which is pretty much the compass the character has). But maybe I'm not that convinced in the fact that Ping Er cares about her as well, she's a bit lazy with their shop haha and she obviously has a secret past but she hasn't trusted Ling Se enough to tell her about her big secret, which is sad, and it makes me question if their friendship is real to Ping Er.. um but let's see how their friendship keeps developing in the next episodes.
About the situation ship between Xu Zilu and 2nd lead, I don't get it haha, they don't give much detail into what happened between these two characters, and why he's so resentful of Xu ZZilu, and Zilu like doesn't even care lol.
Still not sure about the girl that wants to marry Xilu, as I know she might get annoying, but I hope I'm mistaken. And I can't find her importance in the story so that is annoying me a little bit lol, but I tend to be a hater towards second male/female leads so this might not be an objective POV.

I have to say that I totally hated the fact that the actors didn't dub their voices, Wait my youth and My girl were dubbed by them and that was something I loved. l know that Chinese dramas are always dubbed, but I really hate "generic" dubs, cause it feels like the characters are robots, most of the time, genuine expressions are not part of it, and it makes the characters boring and not like real people. Plus, the fact that the original actors dub their own characters makes the character overall feel more real.
I was really afraid that it would be a turn-off for me.
But, surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I expected. At first it was weird as I'm used to hearing their original voice, but the dub actors (Ling Se's dub actor a bit more than Zilu's dub actor tho) have done a pretty good job. And I'm so invested in the story, I actually forget the dubbing voices are not their original voices.
Acting
I love Li Jiaqi as Ling Se, she's so cute. I love actors that are versatile.
This personality seems fresh and new in her. It's totally different from Jiaqi's previous characters (like Can Can, Meng Hui, etc.).
As for Yiqin, um, I want to give him a few more episodes to decide this, hope this character shows a different light from the other characters he had portrayed before in other dramas.
I think he is good at acting, but I'm not really sure if he's very good at being versatile.
I still have a lot of projects of him on my to-watch list. But I think Xu Zilu still has this apathetic, a bit arrogant kind of personality (similar to Tian Ye, similar to Shen Yi).
I really hoped Xu Zilu was a softer character, a different vibe. But I'm still on EP 2, so I might be talking earlier than I should.
(I know that he will turn soft for her and that he will then be a softer version of Xu Zilu, but I still hoped he would be a soft character or a different-vibe character from the very beginning, idk).
I still think that, every time Yiqin works with Jiaqi, she somehow empowers him, and his performance turns out outstanding. So I'm excited to watch that!
