i loved the first few episodes more than i expected to but then the plot unravels and has a bunch of random unrelated happenings. it feels very sitcom-like every episode has a different plotline to the previous and has no continuity, maybe it's on purpose maybe they threw maybe they threw spaghetti on the wall and kept it stuck, but all-in-all i would love to see a taynew in a high stakes series because the potential is there man!!!! this is a common problem with bls (and also the entertainment industry in general) they can act and have great chemistry but they keep getting typecaste into the same roles (even if the characters vary the dynamics between them feel the same.)

yes! i understand that some people might be too scared especially someone as avoidant and introverted as wine but i am concerned about the precedent it sets yk? i actually quite like that people in her new workplace are supportive showing that good people are out there to help you and you shouldn't just give up but i do wish we get to see wine stand up for herself properly. ik it's dramatic for storytelling purposes but i do think having a more informed woman direct it would've been yielded a better less heteronormative result.

it really saddened me to see wine act so helpless :( i feel like it's important for young women especially young sapphic women to know that they need to protect themselves. they need to ask for help and speak out and not just wait for a saviour because oftentimes we won't get any. i just think they could've (should've) handled the sexual harrassment plot with more tact than this, considering it wasn't a part of the original work.

yes! but what better way to deal with skewed realities than through fiction? i am in general a fan of media that cares to explore unhealthy aspects of the human psyche and behaviour in a way that's different from the usual, or should i say more explored tropes.

well yes i do think that it's good to let female characters be 'toxic' in fiction when irl it's mostly the men who are so if i wanted men making poor choices i'd just look out the window yk? it's much more interesting when the devoted/doting characters are men it subverts a lot of tropes that are usually considered the norm women are expected to put with a lot of bs that men put them through and i like too see men in fiction suffer the same

the difference is that duang is a sweetheart who does acts of service for all his friends (and the most for qin ofc that's his #1) but everyone else did it with the intention of hitting on qin and stopped when they weren't interested anymore :(

honestly i don't know anything about the novel but the story itself is a snoozefest and the vibes are nonexistent. it was like watching an ad. for me personally, not enough is said about any of these characters for me to gaf about their melancholy if that makes sense? also i only saw the original trailer and expected more messiness lol

episode one was such a raging disappointment lol.. it felt like a student film with 3 dollars and a dream. flimsy plot and flimsier filming i really wanted this to be good so that's a shame

u were right!! but i stand by it, their relationship is pointless to the plot. and i think there was too little development between kan and wasan for the "betrayal" to make impact :[ with only 8 eps they're doing great but i wish kan's motivation was fleshed out more + i think the whole drama should've only been from kan and wasan's pov so the pharmacist randomly becoming the narrator for like 5 mins made no sense

ok but i must admit the shift from cozy cute vibes to creepy weird vibes is cool as fuck. i have to give tens to the director, got me going from awww to ewww. v fitting for a thriller romance!

when u have 8 episodes to tell a story do NOT add intricate side plots that a. deserve it's own pacing and b. take away from the main plot... we did not need to know about the pharmacists' half baked tragic past (i will eat my words if it ends up being relevant to the story lol)

the problem in pretty much all industries is that (fictional) women are only allowed to exist within pre-set boundaries and stereotypes, they're either cute subservient etc or girlboss mean etc. they're not given the same leeway that their male counterparts are given. humans are complex and containing these characters within certain behaviours, emotions and even thoughts is, like with all bigotry, a form of stereotyping. i feel like when u see a show u can tell which characters the writers/directors considered important enough to explore and which ones they half-assed and in most dramas female characters are the latter. they seem like a collection of tropes over a real person ifykwim? like i said they're either the damsel in distress or highly ambitious and it's irksome. not many realise that depicting different women in diverse situations, including bad/sad ones is not misogynistic but the issue is they're *only* ever depicted in one of those situations. it makes them feel less 3 dimensional, less human, less capable of understanding the range of human experiences and that is the problem. (this happens with all minorities across industries — women, people of different races/ethnicities, lgbt communities all get reduced to a set of usually extremely opposite stereotypes.)
