I’m rewatching MH right now and it’s clear he’s come a long way since then in regards to his acting. They’re also two different types of characters who can’t be compared. Granted, XW’s characterization has some stylistic choices that is a bit exaggerated, but I got used to it the more I watched and it became a special character quirk to me. ZLH has many many moments when his acting was very well done in Kunning, but it seems she’s completely ignoring all that and blanketing his entire role as bad acting. I was following her from when she first started and used to appreciate her pov along with her knowledge, but I recently realized that she’s become less and less objective when criticizing a lot of actors and focusing too much on superficial elements that I had to stop watching her.

Yeah I can’t wait to see all the looks GQ will come up with. Since Dylan and YSX aren’t attending, it’ll probably be BL x ZLH together, unless they want to start promoting him and Jing Tian already for their upcoming drama lol. ZLH is sick at the moment, hope he’ll be well enough by Thursday.

By crown prince, I meant the current emperor. That's the same person. He is the Dowager Empress's son and Duke Xue is his uncle. He wanted to be in good favor with the emperor to gain political power. For him, power means more than Dingfei. Also, it seemed he was in a loveless marriage with Dingfei's mother, so he cared even less.

Duke Xue married Yan Mu's sister and had Xiao Dingfei who is Xie Wei's true identity. 20 years ago, he allowed the empress to give up his son in order to save the crown prince and Dingfei became a hostage under King Pingan and was raised as Xie Wei. His mother thought that he was killed along with all the other children and died of heartbreak. His father, Duke Xue, is still alive and being a jackass.

The blood scene was just to hoodwink the audience. He doesn't have any blood craving. That was JXN being naive, thinking that blood would cure whatever ailment he was experiencing at the time and force fed it to him. All this will be revealed later, but his identity is already slowly being hinted at through his interaction with Yan Mu.

Fortunately, we got this show at least since they air dropped SOKP and the actors have no time to fit in their schedule ahead of time to do any additional promotions like building sweeping.

It was because this drama and LY7T both reached 1 million pre-watch reservations in record time. The Chinese title of both these variety shows are called 1 Million Promises (followed by the drama’s title). I think it’s a really fun way to promote the show. They should continue doing it for future dramas.

Maybe MJTY was trying to emulate that lol. I only watched a couple of episodes of NIF but it didn’t hook me. I prefer NIF2 much more.

I just want to know if you've finished the rest of the drama to say this or are you just making assumptions about the main leads' relationship based up to the point of where you're watching, which is the end of the ZZ arc? JXN didn't settle for the next best thing, she finally realized the best thing was right beside her all along.

For me, I lost interest in LYF after they left the mortal realm, and as I was still not drawn in by any of the MLs or their storylines with the FML by that point, I dropped. MJTY has good production value going for it, but the script left something to be desired the further it went. It started off good, but just lost steam for me by the halfway point. Also, there was so much of them just sitting around, drinking tea while whisper-speaking to each other ever so sloowly that it was unnatural. There was a scene where they interrupted a fight scene of the FML just to show the secondary characters drinking tea and chatting lol. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference and many who love SOKP here maybe love it more than the two mentioned above.

Honestly, I think it’s 30% censorship and 70% editors being overly cautious and cutting more than they should lol. Another reason is UL involves a love story between a concubine and a “eunuch” which is taboo so I don't think censors want all those intimate scenes shown.

That’s the part I wish they had time to include. How he comforted her after FY’s death. But I think they reworked it so that it was the carriage ride after JXN was beaten instead.

Ah go ahead… memories from when I was also obsessed over that drama. It seems like the dramas that give me these kind drama obsession feelings only come once every few years.

If you take a closer look, those feelings were very surface level and superficial versus the organic development of the relationship towards ML which has been building since episode 1. Have you read Alysha Johnson’s analysis below? She laid it all out pretty well.
