Finished all 5 eps and I feel it gets better the further you go. Ep 1 was squeezing in all the introductions so it felt a bit chaotic, but the fast pacing gets to a more comfortable speed as you get used to all the characters and what's going on. From tomorrow's previews, it seems like we're going to learn about both leads' histories from when they were young to the present by it slowly revealing along with current events as the drama progresses. Like a mystery unraveling. Looking forward to it.
P.S. I really like how they did their "online dating pre-internet age" segment. Instead of alternating shots of them reading each other's letter replies, it morphed into a shot of them chatting in that imagined room, with the long table representing their distance in reality.
Guys It's so good. Visual, musical score, plot, scene change, all are melo dramatic plus I love the close up micro…
For real, it's like the other 38 minutes of actual real film footage don't exist to them or something. This drama has always marketed itself as "short drama in long drama form" so no surprise there lol.
I'm happy with the director's style so far since I was nervous about him beforehand. Also, I'm glad they didn't use that dreamy filter like all the promo clips and trailers had. You can actually see everyone's skin textures despite the high exposure color grading.

I blame Youku more than Daylight for that disaster though since their FL has several dramas airing on that platform, and it's not coincidental that the last drama ZLH starred with her that also got his scenes butchered was also on Youku. I mean why would Daylight waste time and money filming his scenes if they're going to cut them. I'm sure Youku had their say in the cuts during post production. Cbiz is so shady and complicated. ZLH is really getting by thanks to talent and a higher power's protection because it's obvious his agency doesn't have his back.

True. OG and Daylight was like a huge slap in the face after I had been so happy and optimistic he landed a big PH project lol. But then look at who also got parts in that, one of mama Xu’s new children. It’s like they went “ok Xu Yiruo, you can insert your other talents if we can cut whatever we want on ZLH’s parts to benefit whoever we’re boosting” and she went, “deal!”

People act like he's his own boss and can come and go as he please lol. He is still someone's employee and has to do as he's told since he's contractually obligated to. I wish he could just quit it since it's not that different from what he's filmed in the past so it wouldn't add much to his acting resume anyway. I'm still waiting for Overdo to judge if Yi Jun's skills have improved because whatever I've checked out of his so far hasn't impressed me, sadly. The only attractive point was that this was from Linmon, but now it's just a big mess.

There is a photo of her from her birthday a couple of years ago where she's sitting on a table like a boss and the staff around her are kneeling on the floor bowing to her. Their boss Xu Yirou is also shown bowing to her. I guess it's supposed to be a "cheeky" photo, but it tells so much about their dynamic. Their boss has repeatedly shown preferential treatment of LYX over ZLH (I can list them all but this would be a mile longer than this comment already is right now.) If she gets her way into this drama, it's very likely ZLH's scenes and screen times will be tampered with in order to boost her because they have been trying for years for her to have a breakout. ZLH has the magic touch at the moment because since PoJ and on, every single one of his dramas are highly anticipated. If this drama also becomes a hit, then LYX would be the one who benefits more. This director is also now under Star Times's control as it's been said that he's signed with them. Due to the past issues and on going foreshadowing, ZLH's fans have great worries that this will not bode well for him if she gets the role. Because there's nothing to stop their boss from making LYX take over the storyline if their boss is practically monopolizing this production with her people. (I will be surprised that Linmon would be controlled like this if it comes true.)
Except for The Best Thing and SOKP(which he was not the original intended ML), majority of ZLH's dramas have had his character arcs tampered with and filmed scenes cut in order to give other people the boost. As he's the employee, his boss is the one who has the power to decide what dramas he gets to act in and she has always seemed to let him be at a disadvantage because it allowed her to bring other people from her company into the dramas that he's filmed. This is the kind of resource exchange dealings that go on behind the scenes that casual viewers who aren't deep in chinese entertainment fd don't know about. It's frustrating because it leads to so much warring issues and wrong choices that don't benefit the dramas at all when they air.

I think she's wrong in her calculation and choosing 2 won't have the outcome she's expecting. Look at what happened with PoJ hate campaigns(as well as MJTY and SOKP). Instead of being crushed it boosted him even higher. Anyway, this just shows how greedy, bias, and shortsighted she is. If she had supported Linghe genuinely and boosted his career, he would've repaid her tenfolds being the person that he is.

Her fans boycotted He Qiu(also from their same company) from being cast in the same drama as her. This is a normal occurrence in every actor's fd every time there are drama casting rumors, but when it comes to ZLH, it suddenly becomes a mortal sin. His cfans have legitimate reasons based on numerous incidences why it would be harmful to ZLH's career if they are partnered. Not to mention, she's the least suitable for this role among all the actresses who have been rumored so far.
