A comedy that would leave you smiling for sure!

It's been so long since I could lay down in my bed watching Asian movies... and I finally got to do it again today, so I thought that "The Con-Heartist" was worth the try! And I don't regret it one bit! It was hilarious and sweet, and very very entertaining.

This movie has the perfect main duo, Baifern, whom I know from "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and that famous Pantene commercial, and Nadech, Urassaya Sperbund's hot boyfriend. I'm not into Thais so I don't keep up with the celebrities, so having two actors I'm familiar with in one movie sounds amazing. The acting was amazing. They were naturally funny and oh my, finally... a comedy without actors overacting. The storyline's actually pretty simple and cliche, but since I really love revenge movies, this one is obviously up my alley. A bunch of comedy mixed with heist and a hint of romance created a perfect movie for me to watch.

I've lost my interest for Asian entertainment a few months back, and I think this movie might bring back my previous excitement. I've been too caught up with Western movies and uni and all and I needed something to boost back my love for Asian films, I'm glad I picked the right one today. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone in search of something light, entertaining and hilarious. Overall, a 9/10! ⭐

WHOA!

This is my first Korean movie in months! I’ve been in a K-drama/K-movie slump for such a long time and I didn’t know what to watch to end it. Until yesterday, a friend told me about this brilliant movie she just watched, “Forgotten”. When she told me that “the plot twist was amazing”, there’s no way I wouldn’t watch the movie! Plot twists are always my favorite!

This movie was super unpredictable. I thought I could’ve guessed the plot twist, but dang… I was so wrong! The acting was spot on! Kang Ha Neul and Kim Moo Yeol deserved awards for this movie! Just. Brilliant. The music was suspenseful and everything was just perfect!

I would recommend this to anyone who’s searching for a suspensful mystery/thriller with DOPE PLOT TWISTS! Overall, 9 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heartwarming stories of 4 couples during the New Years!

As soon as I saw the cast, I knew I need to see this film! This film is filled with a list of my favorite actors and actresses and I’ve always loved seeing films that have actors and actresses I’m familiar with. In addition, I was eager to see Chen Du Ling in a Korean movie since I loved her in Left Ear!

The film was good—it was heartwarming, sweet and nostalgic. I really love a Christmas/New Years film as they are both my favorite holidays and it brought back all the good memories I always have on that particular days. The feelings depicted in this movie was great! The romance were not too overly romantic, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and angst. The warmness radiated from the endings of those 4 incredible stories were perfect! If I had to put those 4 stories in sequence from my most to least favorite, it would be:
1️⃣ Han Oh Wol & Kim Rae Hwan (Choi Soo Young & Yoo Teo)
2️⃣ Lee Hyo Young & Kang Ji Ho (Yoo In Na & Kim Kang Woo)
3️⃣ Oh Young Chan & Yao Lin (Lee Dong Hwi & Chen Du Ling)
4️⃣ Min Jin Ah & Lee Jae Hun (Lee Yeon Hee & Yoo Yeon Seok)

Oh Wol-Rae Hwan and Hyo Young-Ji Ho’s stories were both my favorites since their stories were clear from the beginning. They both had a clear and a reasonable problem and they came up with the perfect solution to it. On the other hand, Young Chan-Yao Lin didn’t seem like they were both meant for each other. Their story became much better because of Young Chan’s super supportive and silly sister, Yong Mi (Yeom Hye Ran). The same goes to Jin Ah-Jae Hun’s story—I thought I was going to like this couple’s story best, but I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the two.

But overall, the director managed to give us 4 beautiful endings and a nostalgic firework and countdown scene which made this movie a whole lot better! Definitely recommended to watch with your loved ones (preferably during the end of the year to get the holiday season vibe!) An 8.5/10 for me! ⭐️

I expected more from this, but I clearly wasn't disappointed :)

I downloaded this waaaay back last year, and I was saving this movie for my romance marathon if I'm free, or in other words saving this movie since it's the last romance film I have left with Darren Wang as the main lead! I still can't move on from Our Times, and I wanted my obsession over Darren Wang to last. But today I was totally in the mood to watch this film, so here I am writing this review after watching.

I've always loved cliche movies, especially those romance movies with so much angst but ends with fluffs. So I was definitely looking forward to watch this movie: the typical female chases cold male lead first, but he finally realizes that she was the one. So cliche, but so my type! Honestly, I was expecting more angst from this movie, but the story just goes up and down, with the comedy, the angst, the romance, it was a little messy if I must say. The characters were a little confusing as well, and they were portrayed "indecisive". A little annoying, but it was okay.

For me, the acting was okay. Darren playing as the cold main lead would always be my favorite, but Jelly's acting here seems a little over for me. I totally get it that she needs to act as a cheerful, lively, innocent, a little stupid female lead, but the crying scenes were just over the top.

Overall, it's a sweet romcom I definitely recommend, an 8/10 for me! ⭐⭐⭐

Cute, but boring.

I was searching for a romcom to watch and I stumbled upon this movie. I was always hesitant to watch older movies but I gave this a try anyways. It’s not bad, but it’s not that good either. The storyline is pretty much predictable, but cliche in this movie is a bit draggy. Kwon Sang Woo was the main reason why this movie is bearable. Gong Yoo was funny too but it’s a shame he only appeared in a few scenes.

Despite the sort-of-annoying-old hairstyle of the FL and the exaggerated action scenes, I’ll probably recommend this if you want to relax, also smile from some sweet, romantic scenes. Or if you need an eye cleansing after a long day of school or work, because Kwon Sang Woo will solve it all! Pretty good, 6/10!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of cliche romance movies. But this one... seemed to be a little too much for me. I spent 1 hour and a half, smiling like an idiot while my fingers curled up from cringing. I liked it though, but as I said, it was too cheesy. I’m not really sure if it’s because of the difference in the language the main leads speak, or just because of the whole story in general. Daniel Henney was unexplainably hot, but his acting here on this movie may seem a little stiff in my opinion.

The story is SUPER CLICHE. You know what’s going to happen next. The typical CEO falls in love with his assistant kind of story. Even though it’s really predictable, really cheesy, the languages bother me sometimes, the acting wasn’t that great either, I’m super in love with the music. That’s one of the reasons that made me stay throughout the whole movie.

Overall, an 7.5/10. Super cute but on the other hand, cheesy and predictable. If you can handle the overflowing amount of fluff and a hint of angst, this is for you!

EXTREMELY FUNNY MOVIE WITH GOOD ACTION!

W.O.W! Where do I even begin? Never have I imagined this movie to be this good. Most of action-comedies failed to impress me, but this movie proves me wrong. The plot was so clear right from the very start. It wasn’t draggy nor was it boring. It was super duper extremely funny, and I knew that this was my kind of comedy movie.

All the casts did a really really great job portraying each of their characters. Every one of them was super entertaining and super hilarious, they all also did a good job with the action scenes! Lee Ji Won and Jung Joon Ho reunited again after Sky Castle, and I’m very well impressed by Lee Ji Won’s natural comedic acting! *standing ovation*

Overall, a 9.5/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you need some lighthearted, super funny movie with a great plot and great casts... THIS IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU!

Actually interesting and fun to watch!

To start off, let me just give a big round of applause to whoever pick up the casts! Because this movie has some dope actors and actresses! First off there’s Lee Jung Jae, BoA, Lee Sung Min, Shin Ha Kyun, Choi Woo Shik, Son Ho Jun, Ra Mi Ran, Kim Ui Seong and Bae Seung Woo! WOW the line up is just AMAZING.

If you’re looking for a comedy movie, this isn’t probably what you want. Yes, there’s some pretty good comedy (mostly in the first half) but there’s so much more action in this movie. So, it’s mainly action in my opinion. BoA actually did a good job acting out her first role in a movie, although her acting was quite stiff at first, her action scenes were very good!

Overall, a great movie I’d like to recommend! Bless your eyes with great visuals of Lee Jung Jae and have some great enjoyment watching this mostly-action-comedy movie! I was actually trying to rate this 8.7 or 8.8 but MDL won’t let me... so... 8.5 it is! ⭐️

I would’ve cried rivers watching this movie if I was alone, however my cousins and grandpa was there to watch this movie too. I was quite shocked to see my family getting this much interest in Korean films, but I was proud of it.

I knew from the very start that this movie wouldn’t end happy. Especially after watching Hi Bye Mama, I’m really sure of how this movie is going to end. Surprisingly, I’m still interested in watching this movie. I loved the ending. The movie showed how Jung Woo Jin was pretty much a loser at first, and his son was just unable to do things on his own. My take upon this movie was that Im Soo Ah came back down to them to say goodbye properly this time, and to teach them how to do things on their own, especially when it’s time for her to go back to the Clouds. The last few minutes of the movie showed everything in Soo Ah’s point of view, while the whole first half of the movie showed the couple’s love story from Woo Jin’s point of view. And when Woo Jin was once a loser, the ending showed how he was now able to overcome goodbyes.

The romance isn’t cheesy at all, it was touching and beautiful. The music reminds me of ‘A Whole New World’ and I enjoyed it!

I love Gong Hyo Jin and Park Seo Joon cameo appearance! Overall, a 9.5/10! Definitely recommended for all of you who need some tearjerking romance, with a beautiful bittersweet ending ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh Nara carried the show!

I guess this drama would be so much better if it was made into a 2 hour long movie. It’s a good thing that it wasn’t a 16 episode drama, but it still felt too long for me. I needed to speed it up to 1.75x when watching the episodes.

The story is cliche, pretty much like ‘Knives Out’ mixed with ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. It’s not really a plot twist if I may say, since I was able to predict who’s the main culprit at the end. So, I think the story wasn’t as spectacular as I once expected. However, I love the friendship created at the last 2 episodes, how everyone agreed on something together and made an awesome teamwork kinda stuff! I also love the mother-daughter bond!

The acting was so-so. I don’t really know much about the actors and actresses here, except for Oh Nara, Kim Hye Jun and Kim Jung Young. Oh Nara was excellent as usual, she’s naturally funny and incredibly talented in acting. The rest of the actors and actresses which I don’t know did a pretty good job! They succeeded in making me annoyed with their facial expressions and even their portrayal of the story.

Overall, a good drama, but definitely not the best. 6.5/10 ⭐️

Regardless of what people say about Ryu Seung Ryong’s acting and the predictable storylines, I still love this movie! I was sure of my decision to watch this movie. When I read the plot, I was immediately interested, let alone the casts: Lee Sun Gyun, Im Soo Jung, Ryu Seung Ryong and LEE KWANG SOO. Yes, the “comedian” Lee Kwang Soo. It’s never not funny when Kwang Soo’s around!

Here’s a little summary:
So the story starts off with Jung-In (Im Soo Jung) who’s studying in Japan whom met Doo Hyun (Lee Sun Gyun) coincidentally because of a sudden earthquake. They both fell in love and decided to get married some time later. After 7 years of marriage, Doo Hyun gets tired of all the nagging and all of his wife’s bad habits (smoking, getting angry at everything, basically just embarassing him around). Whenever he tries to just run away from all the problems at home, his wife just follows him around everywhere.

Then.... he met casanova Sung Ki (Ryu Seung Ryong) that lives around his neighborhood. Doo Hyun begged him to seduce Jung-In just for the sake of a divorce agreement form his wife (because he thinks his wife would cheat on him after all). Sung Ki agrees and he starts digging for information about Jung In so he would click with her more. Long story short, Jung In became closer and closer with Sung Ki, she also gets a job, she became quieter, she just became perfect once again. She became the woman Doo Hyun once fell in love with. That’s when Doo Hyun started regretting his decision on making a stranger seduce his own wife.

This movie just hits right in the feels. I just liked the idea of everything. Although the storyline seemed very predictable and the acting may seem quite cringy, it doesn’t really bother me at all! I found myself laughing and getting teary eyed throughout the movie, though. This is the Korean romantic-comedy I’ve searched for ever! I’ve never watched any Korean movies with these right amount of romantic scenes (not cheesy ones) and the perfect amount of comedy to top it up (Ryu Seung Ryong and Lee Kwang Soo is just drop dead funny, GOSH).

Overall, a 9.5/10. I would love to rewatch this movie over and over again just for a good laugh and a heartfelt story. ⭐️

I never even put this drama on my watchlist, but I wanted to watch something that I could finish in just one day, so I decided to give this a try.

The storyline was odd, it was unique, it wasn’t that great but it wasn’t bad at all. The CGI effects were superb, how they portrayed the monsters and the sparkles and all the jellies wowed me. However, there are some parts of the story that was still left unanswered until the end, like what about Mackenzie, the female teacher, Mr. Hong’s childhood friend, or Eun Young’s “stepmom”? The ending was rather fast and unclear, but it’s not bad.

The acting was great, Jung Yu Mi and Nam Joo Hyuk did a really great job and the students were also awesome! The music, was also very great for me, there are soft piano tunes of “7 Princess - Love Song” which was my favorite!

To be honest, this drama isn’t really that good for me. It took 5 whole episodes for me to get hooked on finally. I loved Episode 5, it was really heartwarming and sweet, but the ending disappointed me again. Overall, a 7/10 ⭐️

Whoooa... what a ride - an awesome ride. I had the privilege to watch S2 without even waiting for years. I finished S1 not long ago and immediately started S2. And for me, this is better than S1. Why?

The storyline were clearer, each person has their own stories to tell which I think may be boring for some people and the storyline would be so much slower too, but for me it adds up the point for this drama. I don’t think I really enjoyed Lee Yeon Jae’s story, but the else was just really outstanding for me! There are some scenes that made me teary-eyed as well, when there is none actually in S1. The ending was really satisfying too. We get to see Hwang Si Mok smiling so freely now.

The actors and actresses is no doubt. They were a SUPER DUPER OUTSTANDING. They portrayed the story so beautifully, and it just WOWED me to the point I can’t move on. The only sad thing about this drama is that I think it has lesser scenes of Hwang Si Mok and Han Yeo Jin because they’re rivals in this season. But dont worry, nothing can break their relationship at the end! ;)

I really really wish S3 would come back soon... I can’t really move on fast from this drama because it is THAT GOOD. Trust me, it may seem boring for the 4 first episodes, but when you reach the 5th it gets better and better till the end. I hope Han Yeo Jin would reunite with her old team, Seo Dong Jae will rise back up again, Hwang Si-Mok will work with Kim Ho Seob once more, Kang Won Cheol would still be in the story too and lastly, for everybody to reunite and join forces to make Korea great again.

Overall, a solid 10/10. I could give this a 100/10 anytime ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A total disappointment... Don’t watch this with an expectation as high as Train to Busan...

I’ve read a couple of reviews regarding this movie, and many were disappointed. I thought that it wouldn’t be that bad since Kang Dong Won and Lee Jung Hyun are going to act as the main characters, but... I was wrong. It was THAT BAD.

The movie started of okay for me, but it gets super boring in the middle until the end. Even the ending was super slow and the whole storyline was quite absurd. It could’ve been made shorter, but instead it was a whole 2 hours of movie.

Overall, a 5/10. I don’t think I’m going to rewatch this movie ever again...

A HIDDEN GEM: An underrated film you can’t miss!

I came across this movie when searching for a comedic Korean movies to watch. I read good reviews about it so I decided to give it a watch. And I’m not disappointed at all, it was great!

The acting was great, it was real, it seemed so real. The actors and actresses portrayed their role so effortlessly perfect, especially *spoiler* Lee KwangSoo playing as the antagonist of the story. It’s hard to hate him since I’m used to his goofiness on Running Man. The cameos were super duper great, I just loved it how Nichkhun acted on the credits and some comedians I knew.

The story was great - a complicated family finally unite themselves to avenge their parents’ unfair death. The plot twists were also super unpredictable! So I recommend you to not miss this great film. But, as a disclaimer: No, this is not a comedic movie that could make you laugh out loud. I don’t think I’ve been laughing for the past two hours. But, on the other hand, it could make you tear up seeing how the family exchange “I love you”s in the end.

Overall, a 9/10 ⭐️ Looooved it!
