That micro drama didn’t follow the novel. In the novel, both leads die a natural death, so censorship shouldn’t have been an issue since they don’t stay in Novel anyway. The censorship board could’ve just gone like... ‘My bad—let’s move on to the next drama.’ In the story, he returns to the real world at around 13–15 years of age, and because of the FL’s ‘cheat code’ knowledge about the real world, he progresses quickly. Eventually, they reunite
When he returns to the real world, the FL remains there for 15 years (major spoiler if you need i can tell !). This allows him to mature into adulthood, and upon the FL's return, her time also resumes, making them roughly the same age, paving the way for their romance.
Actually, the reason is that, according to the novel, before the female lead transmigrated, Wang Yin was known for her cunning nature and always envied the consorts favored by the emperor, playing tricks on them. Remember the epilogue where the SFL's maid said she was pushed into the water? It was Wang Yin(not the now transmigrated FL)! Now that the female lead has transmigrated, the plot still follows, but people now hate her, as they believe she manipulates the emperor. Thus, she's called the demonic consort - poor girl, even without doing anything, the plot makes her evil.
I loved the drama, but I'm concerned that Bai Lu might have been pressured to take this role. Her eyes seem tired, and I'm worried. As a Bai Lu fan, I'm just expressing my concern; she needs a break.
