You know what, I gotta applaud Wuhuo for keeping himself sane that long.
No offense to Ji Ling, of course, but if I were to be realistic here, if I see my loved one (niece, if I want to be specific) die in front of me and then only to see someone wear their face THEN ask me to be their new niece, I might actually become a little insane. No matter if they share the same trait, I would never be able to live with myself seeing them alive in front of me when it's not even them.
That aside, if seeing Ji Ling's Chi Wen doesn't make you sad, they made sure pre-Ji Ling drives a nail to the coffin because this episode was just depressing. The parallels between Xizhai was heart wretching. I cannot believe they can make the backstory even worse. 😭 What the hell, GJM.
I hope everyone who blames Luwuyi can understand one thing: no one’s death was caused by her. The time rewinds…
Right? Like, at this point in the current timeline, Wangyan is ACTUALLY alive. She kept her sister alive and also kept Ji Ling alive when they both should be dead by now.
Cried (snot and all) throughout the whole rewind sequence that I had to stop and stare and blow a fuse when they finally showed Wuhuo ‘killing’ Li Jie. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
My guess is there is a hidden power that Chi Wen (or another dragon) gave to Ji Ling just in case he needed it the most. He had to unseal it himself when he's at his lowest. That was a great sequence, though. Reminds of the Hanba flashback. Literally had goosebumps as Bai Ze came in while we hear Wuyi desperately calling for Ji Ling. 😵💫 This show is insane.
And of course, the fox sisters made me bawl my eyes again. 😭
Knowing Wanyan and how she detested the manipulation the sect was forced to go through because of Jiuying, I highly doubt she'd even get angry at Wuyi. She's also a victim in this scenario! It wasn't until recently that she realized everything she knows is fake. Besides, they've already build so many memories together ever since her conception, anyway. That one isn't made up! #KeepingPositiveBecauseIDon'tWantThemToBeSeparated
The Han Ba flashbacks; looks like a lot happened between them! PS. Have you guys noticed that all the people complaining…
I honestly see no point in their complaints because as far as I'm aware, they had more screentime during the Star Stone arc— literally fleshed out their love story in a way that is so slow burn I shed tears when they “died” in front of each other. We also dealt with Shiguang's backstory! JiLu were literally just cameo-ing in between.
As for episode 19, I see it as a way to put a close to Jiling finally breaking the shackles of being Chi Wen. That isn't bad in my opinion. They needed to do that just in time to start Hanba's arc. In fact, the story flowed so well with the direction. No breaks, just focusing on the main issue. Sigh.
The mystery about Wanyan's connection to Jian and Hanba is so interesting already! Looks like a forbidden love story, wow. I need it so badly because we'll have a jealous dragon watching it all unfold. 😭
Also, why is Wuyi acting like a double agent? Is this a special mission for Jiuying?
JI LING GIGGLING BECAUSE WUYI IS CALLING HIM A'JI AGAIN. I MISS SEEING HIM LIKE THAT. 😭 WHY CAN'T THEY BE CUTE TOGETHER FOREVER.
Happy 2nd Anniversary to LovRun. ♡ You are still my most favorite K-Drama and you will always be. I miss you, SolJae. 😭 I will be doing my annual rewatch tonight.
Long Shen suddenly turning into a mortal kinda funny. This is gonna humble him. Why do I also feel like Di Zhu is actually the main leader of the demon fox clan? She still has the same powers and has a nine spotted snake (and the Formless Sect, I believe, has nine members to represent all the moon phases?). She's the real Nu Wa.
So, there is definitely history behind past CW and LWY. I have a feeling that the one in the past is really CW, and he knows that LWY used the magic on him to forget her. 🤔 Hence he created Ji Ling as an extension and he probably planned on meeting LWY since then. It's honestly not that farfetched since he's always 2 steps ahead of them.
There is also definitely a reason why LWY likes staring at flowers as much as she can and CW creating a fake memory of JL being a blind fox he saved. I remember that Xiaowei lost his sense of smell a long time ago. LWY in the past probably lost her sense of sight, and she loved the flowers. CW probably gave her sight long ago. Hmmmm.
Hmmmm. My gut is telling me that Long Shen actually knows about the prophecy of Formless Moon Sect killing him so he's using Ji Ling as a way to butter up Wuyi since she might be the one who's destined to kill him. If he sacrifices her first, then he reaches the goal of forever being revered. It seems like she's being used based from the trailer they put out for JLxWY. It's like she lost her eyesight. She probably gave it to him? And he used it to betray her? I don't know. I don't feel so good about how Long Shen is acting so far...
Wow, the rating bombing has started. When will haters pick a hobby or find a job. 😵💫
Anyway, we definitely need more of AJi giggling behind his fan solely because of Wuyi. I do wonder if he's just pretending like Wuyi, though. 🤔 Poor boy would probably be so heartbroken if he found out that she's just ‘leading him on’. Can I also say how I love the sisters' acting as nine tailed foxes. The way they speak and look and smile are so alluring. I can't look away from my screen whenever they appear. It's like listening and watching an ASMR video. Jingyi and Duling's chemistry are so superb!
On episode 2 right now and the floor cleaning really just cemented a phrase that matches Tingyan so much— “when you become a little important at work.” LMFAO. I love her and the expressions on her face. She's so modern in a world full of scheming disciples with perfect posture and stiff personality. She's literally so me irl.
Only cons I have right now is the confusing scene cuts with this. The exposition are so ass, too. Couldn't they do that with flashblacks instead of having people talk about what happened? Also, the scene between that secret guy and the person trying to control Tingyan's curse, the dub... horrendous cuts... really put me off. I hope it smoothens out in the next few episodes.
