Seriously, though. I'm so happy with the love line so far. You can actually see that despite having the same feelings for the same woman, they don't get petty. We needed that kind of dynamic between two male characters. Plus, their attentional is on the bigger picture of solving the crime first, not pining for a woman everytime they see each other.

I'm so shocked that they made the mother and daughter's deaths so gruesome, though. All that blood splattering. The gurgling set me off. The last shot of her staring at her mom was.... terrifying but also sad. Gu Shan's actress was so great. You can really feel her hatred. So sad to see her go and leave her sister behind.

I honestly don't think he's in love with her like how in love Pan Yue was to Cai Wei. There's admiration there, and protectiveness and loyalty. Familiarity, too. I have a hunch that if SZ doesn't try to acknowledge his feelings, it'd be easier for him to move on. Besides, the recent episode is already building up BXS and ZLJ's love story.

How betrayed PY must have felt that SZ first chose Jiang as the prize for the lantern festival when SZ has been putting PY at the pedestal. FR. I love how almost every character has different agendas and aren't as cartoonish. They made sure everyone has something to offer and that they look like actually people you'd find anywhere. That makes them interesting as characters— and I'm talking about both the mains and all the supporting casts we have so far.

He's so in denial. But you gotta give it to him, despite not knowing she's YCW, he remains loyal to her and feels guilty that he's starting to like someone when he's only lost her a few months ago. I can understand his struggle. He's waited for her for 10 years after all.

To think that he's smartest one in the trio but stroking his ego is all they need to get him moving. It really shows you how much Jiang and SZ understand each other in this scene, too. Ad-libing has been their thing so far.

I knew the Princess wasn't really interested in Pan Yue. I'm really glad he got himself a trusted backer from the royal family.
