Yoryak's tender expressions made it so clear why Dee falls head over heels. And then, Yoryak’s seamless switch to chatting with his brother on the phone—it’s like a masterclass in how guys talk to their crush versus their buddies. Spot on!

That scene where Yoryak holds Dee's ankle while supervising his sit-ups had me laughing so hard I almost spit out my coffee. This BL nails the comedy without being too over-the-top or campy.

And Dee trying to cool his jealousy by pouring water in the steam room—only to create more steam—was just pure comedic genius!

If there’s a second season, I’m in for some major awkwardness. When Playboyy aired before, it was late at night in Japan, but now that I’m back in California, it’s going to be the crack of dawn. Oh man! Am I seriously going to start my mornings off by going nuts? 🤣

I remember last Friday, right after rolling out of bed, I dove into the latest episode. But when Ming attacked Joe at Joe's place, I hit the brakes. It took a solid chill-out session before I could finish the episode.

I've had to remind myself that if I keep despising Ming, I might not make it through this BL show. My problem is, I have a clear-cut line between love and hate, and I can’t root for a romance I can't get behind. Honestly, I've been trying to find some redeeming qualities in Ming, even shifting my frustration to Tong, another character I can't stand. But Ming’s good points are scarce, to say the least.

This BL show is so intense that I don’t want to rewatch it. Based on my shaky memory, here are the only somewhat decent things about Ming, and they’re pretty pitifully few.

First, he’s got gratitude towards his sister. She apparently went through the wringer to save him. Maybe he feels guilty about it. Knowing Tong fell for his sister and even proposed might’ve pushed him to study abroad—out of sight, out of mind. Part of it could be to bless his sister (but let's be real, he probably needed some serious healing time).

Second, he does some sweet things for Joe, like washing dishes in the kitchen (acts of service) and buying gifts like a watch and matching mugs (gift-giving).

A lot of fans think his personality is a train wreck, and I’m on that bandwagon. This isn't my field, but Ming’s character screams the dark triad (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy). It's tough to see his actions in a good light.

In the latest episode, I still can’t find anything to empathize with. He’s still using his status, position, and money to pull off shady, borderline criminal moves, like having Joe spied on. There’s zero sign of remorse for his past actions.

Is he driven by possessiveness or trying to make amends out of guilt? I’m still not seeing a shred of genuine love.

And Tong? He’s even more useless. Is the writer trying to say that everyone’s favorite superstar is a total jerk? If that’s the writer's way of being ironic, then maybe that’s the only reason Tong’s in the story.

I’m pretty sure he did most of the fight scenes himself, though he probably had a stunt double for a few bits.

The stunts he did on his own were seriously impressive. I can’t get enough of this! Poom is totally the main reason I’m hooked on this BL series.

Right? Joe’s giving off major 90s gangster vibes – charming, badass, and smoking hot!
