I think the reason why Aew has been constantly shown wearing red is so that we, as audience, can see Teh making his choice between Aew and Tarn (time and again). Aew is shown as the colour red and Tarn as purple. In the initial episode, Tarn was wearing a bra that had "purple hibiscus" on it (which Teh clearly noticed). In the 3rd episode, Teh and Aew had their moment on the beach with "red hibiscus".

So, in this episode, when Tarn drew a hibiscus and asked Teh to colour it with the pencil of his choice, she was expecting him to choose purple. But when Teh used red, it was clear to us (the audience), and somewhat to Tarn, that Teh was choosing Aew. :)

Yes, absolutely true. Teh did not put it into words but he had been constantly showing his emotions (with his actions). He had been completely selfless with Aew and always put him first.

Exactly. I understand where Aew is coming from. He would feel like a he got his place second hand as Teh rejected his. But at the end of the day, Teh was literally left with nothing. He did not have anything left which he could call his own. So. yeah... both of them are right in their own place but if only Aew could see how much Teh sacrificed, maybe he'd realise that Teh had a different way of showing his affection and love.

As per my interpretation of the scene, it was at that point Teh realised how slowly and slowly he has been giving away pieces of him to Oh-Aew (whether by tutoring him, or giving him his flashcards, waking up at 4 AM to help him study). He was always eager to help him in whatever way he could and never second guessed himself. But at that point, when he opened his book, he realised that he has nothing left now. He had done everything he could but Aew refused it all. Teh felt that it was all in vain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I think the last scene meant...
