as someone who doesn't like this genre and do not follow it and do not look for it, when I come across it multiple times a month is what I call too much. that means the genre has reached a level that even someone like me who doesn't like it can't stay away from it. and I see people around me who have only seen squid game 1-2-3 and maybe the hunger games, celebrate or play games inspired by those movies I am like, do you even know what you are celebrating? or have you lost the meaning of death and it has become like a game to you too. so yeah, I don't blame this movie or even Japan per se. and I have not done any research on this genre. I am talking based on observation.
I am just 25 minutes in the first episode so take my comment lightly, BUT can we stop with all these killing games. death is being taken more and more lightly in cinema as time passes. I wish they would stop these genres.

right? I guess it would make sense if one doens't understand korean at all. because some of those phrases can't be translated directly to meaningful english. but they are not hurting the plot so I'm fine with it.
