I don't know what kept me from watching this show when it aired, but I'm glad I watched it now. does this show say things that haven't been said in other series before? not really, but the acting was excellent from everyone involved, especially aye, jennie, film, ciize & sing, some of which rarely get challenging roles like these. it's also one of the rare series to make me cry so you know it's good lol :')
First!!! I wonder how Papii's going to cope for the 7 days with his grumpy temper?
off & first are only gonna be there for 3 days haha, they need to film not me! but off said he was scared of living with so many guys because he's kind of obsessed with cleanliness lmao :')
I actually enjoyed this WAY more than I thought I would. the characters are lovable, I cared about all the ships for once, the acting was good, the cinematography great & of course I adored how much focused on thai culture (& more precisely thai-chinese culture) this show was. it made me travel through my screen, and it actually had a lot of tropes that I've barely ever seen in thai dramas before like an older couple getting a full-blown relationship arc & even having sex, the female lead not being afraid to express her feelings & desires and not being completely passive, and mostly just more intimate scenes than usual. this was pretty good goddamn show, though personally the ending did leave me a bit disappointed. but I'd totally recommend if slice of life & character development are your thing like me!
so I finally watched with a vpn & raw and yeah... this was extremely bad. the dubbing is atrocious, the acting really not good, oreo (who is the only reason I even watched this) is barely in it and overall this is just badly written & badly executed... honestly it not having eng subs was for the best bc no one should watch it :')
personally, ep 8 is actually the first episode that made me feel something for this show lol. I even cried during aek's rejection of aue, because for me (& that's just my theory until it's confirmed or denied by the show), it's very clear that aek is afraid of having a same-sex relationship. after all he didn't want to take the job at im-aue because his mother wanted "better" for him. so for me it's really clear that aek is afraid of being lgbtq+, especially as an only son, because he's scared it might disappoint his mom which is the last thing he wants to do. I think that shift from "I clearly like p'aue" to the rejection (that does seem to come out a bit from nowhere I must admit) is shown especially when aek's friend confronts him about liking aue. you can see the panic & fear on aek's face which actually tore my heart apart. I think that's when he realized that other people can see what the two of them have and the idea of being in a same-sex relationship publicly became scary to him. but yeah that's just my interpretation. I also really loved the acting in this episode, it was subtle & realistic yet heartwrenching
