the production for this drama is no joke. the cinematography, the colour grading, the sound design - all combined have made something magic and i honestly look forward to this every week. why are the episodes so short?? and why do i have to wait another week now? ðŸ˜
I thought my favorite scene from ep 16 would be the hapbang scene but i was wrongmy favorite scene was the one…
yes that scene was mournful. how deokim fought for her freedom wanting only a simple life, silenced her heart because it would only lead to a cage and in the end it all slipped through her fingers.
the red sleeve was a tragic ode to love, in every form. the unconditional love between deokim and her friends, the obsessive love san had for deokim, the selfish love deokro had for san, the love deokim had for herself - i could honestly go on. everything about this drama was beautiful and i think it will stay with me for a long time.
the palace as the gilded cage it is, and its impact on the key women shown was something extraordinary, too. i…
that scene in ep 17 about 35 minutes in between san's mother and the queen dowager just after her brother passed. she talks about the palace being a prison and the scene ends with a shot of them through the lattice frame almost like they were in a cage. ahhhh the drama is so beautifully thought out.
really loved the special behind the scenes episode they released today before it starts next week. it has got me so excited! you can tell everyone from the crew to the cast have put a lot of love and care into this retelling and i can't wait to see their take on this story.
there's a thai remake happening that's currently being filmed right now!
well I guess we will find out soon because the thai remake starts on the 18th! really hoping they leave out the SA, it was so disappointing to see in meteor garden. I am hopeful tho because the thai director has addressed the concerns with the og story.
i'm so glad i waited to watch episode 5 and 6 together because ep 5 made me so mad omg but ep 6 was perfect. luke's speech about letting dominic go had me in tears and i loved the talk between dominic and his dad. the gio scene was sad :( i hope he allows himself to be happy eventually. overall it wasn't a perfect drama. there were some parts which were just ott and some characters which were just infuriating (karen, dominic's mum, that teacher, phillip) and no retribution but maybe that's just true to life. but it was also sweet and full of heart in that way filipino dramas are.i will miss luke and dominic - i hope they will be happy forever.
had to laugh during that karen scene. 'can I slap you?' uhhh can I slap you??? still don't understand her behaviour because she broke with him first. ANYWAY episode 2 was cute! loved seeing the parallel of their family lives and I really feel for dominic - he is sunshine but the amount of pressure his mum puts on him... also gio is definitely gonna be a problem.
