Honestly if you still arent feeling it wherever you are...drop it LOL i am not done and i dont think *I* will drop it but its feeling closer to an 8/10 of a show for me rather than the 9 or 10 i had hoped for. Keep in mind mid show it does "jump" from school to adulthood which idk if it was handled well.

- It’s dangerous to look at the life others live. It might seem glitz and glam, but under the surface the reality of their life could be much worse than yours so focus on yourself and your own path.
- Wanting more in life isn’t a crime, but its important to really reflect on when you have enough.
- I found it interesting that Yu Guo Dong was going on to Fu Ting Yun about how he isn’t “corrupt” bc he was already rich but that Zhao Ling was a poor kid from the gutters so him trying to have more than crumbs is real corruption….but Yu Guo Dong knew what he was doing was wrong all along and was always worried about being found out bc his actions were in fact criminal??? What does that say? I feel like it shows just how a couple like the Yu's may start from when the Zhao's did, but took too many wrong turns and started to lie to themselves rather than assess their actions and harms.

haha no bc i too was expecting him bc ig they decided not to add *another* character on screen after having so many lool

i think that was the point...90% of the is about how all the characters use each other ... only the main leads *don't* once they decide to trust each other and that was what was beautiful about them as a couple. she's also behind bars and the character that said that was a "friend" but not a close one so i too would not have the energy to give her a lecture under those circumstances.

For all intents and purposes its a decent show...but I started it back in early august and i'm still not done with it which is very rare for me when I like a show. If I had to give solid reasons its 1. simply not what i really thought it was going to be about (idk what I thought but it wasn't this) 2. the plot is there but very slow paced (maybe to point 1's point like I didn't think we were going to spend ~15 episodes just trying to get him to go back to school) 3. the romance is pretty cute but even 60% into the show and its maybe made up 20 minutes of the show so far if we compile the glances and unspoken actions

Thiss!!! i thought i was tripping. zhixin is right, we needed some kind of reason for both the leads to be in this small town, but the *two* suicides were handled just a little to ... blasé/casually? Like they died bc of this random man that was jealous of her? Xiang Zi felt sooo random and just placed as needed rather than being actively part of the story.

I think introducing Xiang Zi earlier in the plot or even starting the show with *more* about her having to drop out would have helped. It was almost funny how easy it was to get Xiang Zi busted not once but twice...

I feel like I will be giving the shows "story" am 8/10 but if i were to score the parts with the kids it'd be a 10/10, they carried the show fr and were sooo wholesome

I get what you mean...i think at first it felt like friendship but idk what the making the bracelet, randomly singing on the street, and then having LWX put her earrings on her was supposed to tell us. I totally get girlhood but the way that section played out made me wonder too bc I feel like she seemed more *sad* than *happy* for her friend?

Regardless of if you are a man or a woman...you are *generalizing*. If you are a man, you have absolutely *no* idea how women think. If you are a woman, you may be one of the women I mentioned with internalized misogyny. For the "want to change a bad boy" it's actually a societal set up. Aside from the biology of women being *inclined* to kindness and nurture (probably due to setting the body up as a mother), we are *raised* to give people (usually men) the benefit of the doubt. We are raised with men as the center, and women as the assistant - i.e. men work and pay bills while women "keep the house clean and tidy *for* the husband to have a safe haven to return home to" or the narrative that men "babysit" their children. In China, the One-child policy, exacerbated the son preference as boys were seen as more valuable than girls. This is not a belief limited to China...So when a daughter a) grows up in a world where there are passive and not so passive reminders that many people look down on her for her at birth sex b) grows up seeing the father act inappropriately (not even the *bad bad* stuff, but things like leaving the toilet seat up, not thinking about their partner as a proper equal, etc) and the mother just "allowing" it partly bc it's the norm, partly bc some women have no way "out", she has a very real chance of growing up to become the woman that see a "bad boy" and think that if they love the guy enough, he will be a better person and maybe even love her.

Anyways, none of this has to do with the actual show , but I do hope you and anyone that might have agreed with you stop lumping women as this one blob of consciousness that are secretly attracted to abusive men. Women in that situation didn't just wake up and choose it, their environment and past led them there and those environments and past were dictated *usually* by men and if not men then patriarchy.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "women are secretly attracted to abusive men."
Abusive men are manipulative and since the world *usually* serves men there are *many* women that suffer from internalized misogyny. I haven't watched the show yet, but in cases like these the 2FML serves as a foil to the FML.

I'm on ep 13 and this show *is* good, but ig with all the hype I was expecting to be *hooked* which I'm not really

I LOVED Tian Yuan in Blossoms of Power. He looked young, but I had no idea he was this young!! He must have been 14ish during filming? That's insane. His banter/friendship with Xiao Hua Yong was literally one of my favorite parts of the whole show -- I *kept* thinking "ah their relationship is so cute!"

Wishing this kid all the success.

I could understand she felt bad about being a “burden” to her sister, but her reaction felt a bit too dramatic for what the sister was offering. You would think after her sister’s death, she’d learn to operate with more grace but instead she keeps arguing with Tae Hyeong in a way that really just makes her look bad. I hate to side with a man but he’s been pretty clear on his stance about his relationship with his late brother and that he did not want to take care of the baby. Once he agrees to help to have a place for his stuff, she steamrolls him over everything. You are working, he is at home with the kid doing what he can, who are you do be nitpicking over every little thing he does or doesn’t do “per the contract” when you barely seem to remember your one task of being the lead parent when not at work.

Now with the 2ML entering the scene and her coming home *later than the contract agreement* just to yell at him as if he left Woo Joo on the side of the road alone while doing an errand…It’s not a vibe.
