On More and More Loves You Oct 9, 2022
Ummmm nobody should watch this. Bad acting aside, it's got a very very abusive relationship - like ml r*pes fl in the first ep and it just continues to be abusive from there on. Like no- this is horrifying and I'm actually sad this was written and then made and ml's "love" is glorified instead of treated as the abuse it is.

Wayy too long for such a simple story line. Halfway through I gave up, there's only so many talking in circles, almost kisses and being interrupted mid-confessions I can take. This isn't so much a slow burn as much as beating around the bush till the very end.

Overall pretty decent, there were some lines that were pretty meaningful in this. But I really wish they had chosen a premise different from "she's ugly in modern times because glasses" and a few tiny black spots on her face- and for that reason she didn't have any friends?? Even when she becomes "a beauty" I have to squint to see what changed - because really on camera you can't see any changes.

The chemistry between the couple is good though and I did really like the ML in this - he is very emotive. The fl's character reminded me of Esther's character in LBFAD. Very OTT cute but also has her sad moments.

Unfortunately where it falls short is the premise and overall story. It's a bit all over the place (is it about dancing, wine, time travel?). It's a little messy and even in such a short series had a few too many boring filler scenes.

Still worth the watch the main cp is cute and it's not that bad as far as short series go!

Sigh - still not over this drama. Whilst it doesn't have a groundbreaking story it was produced/acted/directed in a way that made it unforgettable. The CGI backgrounds were beautiful and wow Dylan Wang in this was a feast for the eyes.

I think what also set it apart from other xinxia dramas was that it didn't go on and on with the angst which was a relief as an audience member geared for extremely long periods of separation you forget who the main cp is. Such a great and wonderful drama.

Couldn't agree more! I'm actually quite annoyed with this drama cause it had all the ingredients to be spectacular,…
LOL! Omg i never realised that! Yessss totally the voldermort look. And cheekbones that can cut butter! I always read that in fanfics and just wanted to know who started this simile.

I don't know if you ever saw that meme that went around a couple of years ago about Korean beauty pageant competitors and everyone looked exactly the same. Whilst I do believe that had racist undertones (not to mention Korea is very homogeneous) - it also did highlight how much plastic surgery had infiltrated society. I feel like the cdrama actresses I like are usually who may/may not have had work done (honestly it's fine either way) but it's subtle - like Zhao Lu Si or Yang Zi. They are all gorgeous but look less plastic.

Sigh. I'm not against plastic surgery but I do think that when you are altering your entire face (like shaving your jaw into a manga drawing pointy chin) - it does become a problem not just for celebs but younger people watching these show. Honestly this is a never ending conversation!

Honestly this is better than most long-format cdramas. Despite the super short episodes I never felt like anything was rushed or out of place. It was well scripted, acted and produced. Probably the best of the short length dramas I have ever seen. It's really great and can give a lot of the other big budget dramas a run for their money.

Only thing I noticed was the FL's fighting skills were super weak despite her supposedly being a martial artist. So go in knowing that. Otherwise seriously this is better than a lot of lengthy cdramas out there.

Seriously. I mean ofc they want actors/idols to be "otherworldly" so that we "chase after them". And then spend tons of money to either be/look like or have something of theirs. That's why idols/actors they aren't allowed to date or you know- just have normal friendships with people of opposite genders even. Because they need to maintain their "otherworldly-ness" compared to us plebs (and this is mostly their company's plans not these individuals).

I agree with you- I remember kdramas used to have more "normal" (still gorgeous by any standards tho) actors and it's veering dangerously close to the OTT of c-drama visuals. I mean the pointed chins that clearly show insanely shaved jaw bones is literally the effect that beauty cams had (to showcase a smaller face) and now that's all I see with the new actors in cdramas. It's honestly frightening.

I was about to write the same. It just gives the feeling of a comedy style love story from the early 00s, acting,…
Yeah I was ff-wd but then I realised I'm basically skipping half the episode trying to watch this and seriously not worth it. I didn't even care about the ending cause I never began to care about the characters. That's how superficially it was written/produced.

Oh that is such a good quote and so important to remember! Lately, been watching more c-dramas and the fact everyone in it is stick thin has started to make me obsess over my weight as well. It really is true that what we consume affects our minds. I don't remember feeling this way when I watched more kdramas even though the beauty standards are impossibly high there too but I think the OTT plastic surgery/anorexia is far less subtle in cdramas.

So I have to be careful in managing my thoughts around this as well. And I'm a grown adult, I can't imagine what these thoughts do to young young girls watching these dramas too. I love dramaland but there are serious issues I wish it would address- one being stop making their talents be unhealthily skinny and reliant on plastic surgery.

Starting off strong but then became bland with too much focus on the plot of the brother and lost it's tone. It's an ok watch but unless there is a second season (which I don't see happening?) it falls short. I don't understand why they made it unnecessarily complicated towards the end..... they could have just stuck to this season and ended it really well.

Just wanna add an observation- unlike cdramas, kdramas rarely get a secondary couples right. It's almost OTT and nonsensical like it is in this drama. There are exceptions of course but usually they they are more miss than hit.

Sorry but this is so badly written and executed that I feel bad for the cast. Like I have seen these actors elsewhere and they are normally great but this drama just...no. I forced myself to ep 9 and even though there are only 3 eps left I can't even be bothered to finish it. It feels like the leads never get together, there's waaayyyyyyyy too much screen time for the second couple who I stopped caring for around ep 3 and so much misplaced comedy.

Also c'mon its 2022- why are we still expected to believe someone can get stabbed, be bleeding for hours in to the next day and still be able to fight (note: not even just survive but actually fight).

This feels like a script written in 2000 met a director who is stuck in the 2000s and not in a fun nostalgic way either.

Indeed, I was searching drama with plot someone from the past time travelled to the future. However it is so rare.…
oo.. i don't think so. The only other one that comes to mind is Love Through a Millennium which is the cdrama adaptation of Queen In-Hyun's Man (kdrama). I never got around to watching it because people said it wasn't as good as the original.

Most cdramas the characters always travel back into time I guess cause it's more fun to write about!

This was weird.......I couldn't get into the game aspect of it- so were they just chatting and her "entering the game" was just for us visually? It was so weird and random. And agree with the posters below- she seemed to have broken up with him for very silly reasons since she never communicated once what the problem was in their relationship (are we supposed to buy that? they aren't even in their tweens!). Would not really recommend.

ikr. who added that???? and thought it was a good idea?
If you need to hold up a "LAUGH HERE" sign then it's probably not funny........
It made me cringe every time those sound effects were added. >.<

This was so well done! It's well written, well produced and well acted. For a short series this is better than some long format dramas. Even though each episode was only 5 mins, the writer still managed to develop the characters and make it interesting. I like that for once the ML goes into the modern world, too many dramas these days are about the FL going back in time.

I only wish there were more kiss scenes in this but overall the romance was also pretty good and for once not all over the place and sudden. A common issue with short series is the lack of continuity and logic which this series doesn't really suffer too much from.

It's a really good way to spend 2+ hours!
Full version is on YT for those wondering.
