This is my theory so take it lightly. We see that Daigo transferred with his family in the village and Kanako, by referring him as “that man”, is trying to change the meaning of that very term into something positive, as “that man” is now someone who brought peace in the village by taking down the Goto family.
But this is just my theory so don’t take it as true😅

I think I’m one of the few people that enjoyed this through the end. Yeah I mean at times it wasn’t realistic but it doesn’t need to be. An then for the two protagonists you can’t expect them to act or think like normal people since they aren’t.
