he is needed to calm the family situation of our princess for some moment...thats why his role is introduced here..i think the director don’t want anything to be much unrealistic or unreasonable.. i mean, if the fml do anything and her strict parents don’t care about it,that would seem odd...and to bring out the love for our fl from our li xun's heart, a jelousy thing is surely needed..
