I think the butterfly demon is yuan wuhou the old commander, because in one of the scenes when he looks at his arm while holding those fortune sticks, the skin looks wrinkles and old, its most likely that yuan wuhou underwent someone of clamity or curse or maybe he was about to die then jiu ying saved him in return for his loyalty and him doing his dirty works... because this yuan wuhou as the new butterfly demon has got to be new, orelse the others who have lived for so long, how come they never heard of him ... smthng like that

guys hear me out ok so this is my theory what if, like the word thats going around rn that LWY is a puppet made by the demon jiu ying cuz he loved dizhu... so... what if LWY is a puppet but of jiu ying herself (like what if jiu ying is a woman? and i dont see anyother cast member here playing the role of jiu ying except jjy... 🧐🧐) so then here it comes
ji ling is the puppet of longshen chiwen
lu wuyi is the puppet of jiu ying
and now the important part:
li jie is the puppet of yuan wuhou
these three are literally not simple

Have you guys watched the new ep 13 and 14 trailers? Do you think the butterfly demon is one person or two? Like do you think li jie is also a butterfly demon cuz in the trailer it shows that theres another pair of twins and *together* they form to be six eyed demons sooo maybe ywh and lj *together * might be the 6 eyed demon

I just rewatched episode 7 and at time stamp 26:07 when LS recalls YWH in his memory the YWH we see is very old and idk maybe because of the bgm the way LS smiled at him and the way YWH avoided his gaze it seemed kinda off like YWH feared LS... or smthng. Anybody else notice it?

Btw i loved the scene where yuan wudi (the elder one) said to lijie (who he thought was yuan xizai) "did you hit your head or something?" and then turned his head only to find it bleeding, convincing him that he did actually hit his head

And then theres the twins yuan wudi and yuan xizai ... which is in the past the illusion... but then in the future the current timeline theres li jie a human and "yuan wuzhou" the six eyed butterfly demon whos now a single person instead of the two and has the face of "li jie/yuan wudi/yuan xizai"😭😭😭 wth???
