C drama has 3 main genres romcom, historical and fantasy. If you don’t like historical and romance, cdramas will escape you. By historical, we don’t specifically mean based on history. More on costumes. And they’re quite different from sageukdeul

I wouldn’t start with this one because it’s very Chinese in the way they depict the mother / daughter relationship. She’s competing with huahua’s mother in the best choice ever and niaoniao ‘s mom in love like the galaxy as the most atrocious one. I’ll avoid best choice ever😁 though the mother in BCE is probably unbeatable

You can try either hidden love or fly towards you with Zhou yiran.

In modern dramas, the most enjoyable one is going to be falling into your smile. There’s a lot of very silly ones, it’s kinda of the issue with Chinese romcoms

You can’t go wrong with any zhao lusi show, pretty much the same with zhao liying (though she does more costume dramas), bai lu, Zhang linghe, bai jinting and Xu kai.

You should check out hospital playlist for her ( she’s a favorite from the support cast) and all of us are dead, she’s great in it. , resident playbook and the art of negotiation for Cha kang. He’s brilliant in both.

But there are new regulations in place when dramas exceeds the 40 episodes mark. They need to divide them and usually second part needs to be on shelf for a year.
First, they were just dividing them and airing them back to back ( love like the galaxy, blue whisper) so they close that loophole.
This was possible after a few months because they were labelled as two different shows. If not we would have have to wait until 2026 for the second part. China has stupid rules about dramas. It got worse in the past 5 years.
