Does anybody know how the drama is doing on different platforms in terms of popularity and ratings? I know it's…
it has a 9.8 on iqiyi but I feel like iqiyi ratings are always inflated, Hard to find anything on there less than a 9 something which obviously can't be the case.
I think this is gonna be my favourite thai bl for 2024, we’ll see how the heart killers will be even though gmm hasn’t been hitting the same this year however I’m really looking forward to that one too. Right now this one is in the lead for me. Love the balance of seriousness, funny and just everything. Yin and war are both great, i feel like war is just playing himself in the show. Such a good actor.
To watch this one do I need to watch some other series first or...? I just don't know. If someone can resolve…
Nope as some one who watched the first (which is actually the sequel to this) you don’t have to watch it first. It’s called unintentional love story though if you’re interested. I would actually work better if you watch this first since that’s chronological order.
Wow the kbls are hitting lately. I dropped the main story forever ago and didn’t realize this was a spin off when I started watching it but it is sooo good. You don’t have to watch the main story first , i find these characters arent in it enough anyway lol and its way before they meet the main couple from the main story so this definitely works as a story on its own. Anyway must watch!
Unpopular opinion I guess but I thought the first few episodes were far more compelling than what we have now.…
Yes this 100%. Kind of like a whole show of just a vegaspete type story would have worked so well. Obviously not as dark as that but if they just gave the characters stronger personalities and slower burn it would have been perfect. Cause the situations they’re in are serious but they don’t act serious enough as someone would in those situations.
I only support what is good, including my favorites (FirstKhao) if the script is bad, it will be criticized, the…
This is so true. Anyone who knows anything about kpop can see the “HYBEification” happening with gmmtv. Unfortunately no one will criticize the story or any part of the productions if their “faves” are in it or it’s gmmtv made and eventually they’ll be able to put out literally anything and it’ll be nominated for awards just because it’s gmmtv. The last really good show that i watched was last twilight. 2024 is giving quickly getting things out like filler episodes to make a quick buck without much quality. The same way they keep debuting idol groups like crazy with hardly any training when they used to have multiple years.
@skip Don’t worry , that NM_BL lover person is just going around commenting on everyone’s actual constructive feedback with nothing but “you must be a hater” because we have opinions on how it could have been better.
This show was suppose to be a romance show not a dark show it's something the director and Ohm both said before…
Did you even read my comment? I’m saying the story was boring. Doesn’t matter if it was dark or not. there were no surprises, no character development, There are plenty of light-hearted romances that have good stories but they hardly even showed how their feelings for each other developed. For example last twilight does an amazing job of showIng the progression of the feelings. None of the characters in this have a strong personality either so I was just suggesting how they could have leaned into Min’s character better. Has nothing to do with making it dark, just giving the show a storyline and personality lmao
Hoping high school frenemy will be the serious dramatic themed one to close the year off ,even though I don’t think it’s a BL, at least it’ll confirm whether or not gmmtv can actually make a show look as dramatic and serious as they make their trailers because it’s just getting annoying expecting one thing but then you realize the tone of the trailer only applies to maybe 1 episode of the whole series.
Also it os pretty realistic too because lot of eastern asians end up in Vancouver or California when immigrating to North America because it’s an easier flight when they fly over the pacific than coming across the Atlantic
This BL is criticized because it is boring and emotionless not because it has or doesn't have NC scenes
Exactly, like all of sudden they just have feelings for each other and the viewer is like what when did that happen . Even if they put an nc scene it would have been even more confusing
I particularly disagree, I think the only company that combines NC and history is BOC - have you seen the MosBank…
nah it’s hot nothing to do with it. Some of the best rated bl’s are chinese and they can’t even have nc scenes. Maybe you’re seeing a correlation because usually when there is nc scenes, the rest of the story is dramatic with a serious tone and you can actually feel the characters emotions. However things like cutie pie, naughty babe i don’t like and there’s tons of nc scenes but the story is kind of meh.
I feel like an 8 rating is rather generous. I was so excited about the concept of this and the trailer but it was really boring to be honest. I think if Min was a bit more moody, had an angry, resentful side of him (think Gun’s character Black from Not me) that Q had to break through it would have created more of a character arc. I feel like there was nothing surprising, no development, everything was completely predictable from the start. They became too friendly with each other too fast. Maybe the target audience is younger or something and not because the lack of NC scenes everyone’s going on about. Some of my top BL storylines are Chinese ones and we all know there are definitely no NC scenes in those lol The whole show seems rather goofy, for its concept it’s going for. Even dangerous romance that had similar feedback seems way more serious and a better storyline compared to this. Ohm and leng are great though, they just need a better story because I dropped episodes in the middle so many times but I might as well just finish it at this point. If you haven’t already started it, I would recommend just skipping it. There’s great korean ones that came out around the same time like time of fever, the prequel for unintentional love story, love in the big city, that taekwondo curse one and and for thai jack & joker is also amazing,
Every episode is like a punch to your gut and you’re left with such a numb feeling from all the emotions you go through. You really feel with the characters, I don’t even know how to explain it just watch.
