LUAT first pilot was released in 2022. They started discussing to go their own ways mid 2023. So it's not weird he took the job in 2022, which is even before Bed Friend was released. By mid 2023, LUAT still has no updates to go into filming. His mental health has deteriorated during those long waiting time, and since the series still hasn't progressed into filming phase at the time, and also all has agreed, he withdrew. I get it that not all hv time or interest to watch his interviews. So, as I watched them all, I'm just telling you what I know from things that has been said by all parties involved. That's all

James needed a break but Net didn't need that break. James took 2+ years break to start his singing career, that's a lot of time. He didn't want to hold Net's back. Also it was not sudden, they had almost a year of discussions before they separated. And if you watch his interviews, he took acting break also because he had some mental health issues.

Also it's important to note that Net has all the right to not wait for James because just like James, he has his own dreams & goals he wants to achieve. It's just so tiring to see all the hate people throw on James, Net & JJ from this situation. None of them deserve hate and they certainly don't deserve people making lies about them.

OMG so much misinformation and speculations in the replies. I'm going to answer your questions base on what has been said by the actors and CEO instead. No speculations, simply things that has actually been said about the situation. Firstly, their CEO Aoftion said, back in mid 2023 about almost a year before Netjames ship was demolished, both Net and James had started the talk on separating. They had many discussions with the management for almost a year before the official announcement was made in 29 February 2024. And then, Aoftion and both Net and James said, it was a CONJOINED decision, it's not coming from just one person. And then, from a few series of interviews later, it was revealed James had mental health issues from portraying the role of Uea from Bed Friend. He was affected badly, as he had to stay with that character for a long time since Bed Friend took a lot of time from workshops to filming to finally being released. At this time, James started performing on stage singing and dancing for a few dmd projects, and he fell in love with performing. As he was deeply affected by acting as Uea, he wanted to take a break from acting for a bit, so he can channel his focus on other ventures like singing, dancing, and also his art. He was very new to singing and dancing and he needed the time to study all those things. But LUAT was already announced, and Net still wanted the project to continue and he didn't want to take a break as an actor. All things considered, after almost a year of many discussions, James withdrew from LUAT and their ship was demolished. And James continues doing things that he wanted to achieve during his break, and he's already debuted with Dexx for a year. It was a successful debut year for Dexx as well and they're still going strong. James took 2+ years if break from major acting projects. He was only in a few series as cameos + one Chinese mini series last year that took only a week to film. Mr Fanboy is his official comeback as an actor, as Nine is also one of the main cast. Also it's important to note James never said he quits acting or BL. He only took a break and now break's over after 2+ years. He also never said anything about never to be paired again, in fact he said if he found the right person and the right timing and all that, he's open to that possibility.

Where did u watched yours? I watched on the official app and the sound quality is good for me. For me, the series ain't perfect, there's some..choices that makes me questioned stuff as well. But I still feel it's quite good given I already have these info in my head while watching...first, they shot this whole series in only 6 days (that's why it feels rushed like u said, if only they spent more time). 2nd, the language barrier. It's interesting to see people reviews (of different pov from mine) of this series, so thank you for this :)

James never said he doesn't want to be labeled as a bl actor or anything like that. He just has many dreams he wants to try to achieve before he turned 30, that's what he said actually. (Well, those are among the many factors that led to his career change; mental health is one of the factors as well). It's a mini series. Usually, that's how it is in China, many mini series took only around a week to film. It will have 50 episodes according to DMD's update today. Since it's a mini series, the length will be only a few minutes per episode.

This project only took 6 days to film and the timing fits with his schedule at the time. And he already has taken 2 years of break. He already debuted with a TPop group, and they're doing well now. It's not weird for him to start taking acting projects again, even if the filming periods are lengthy. Because let me stressed again; he already took 2 years break. Stop living in the past, and also do yourself a favor and fact check before saying untrue things

He never said he wouldn't do BL dramas anymore. He just took a break from filming lengthy acting projects (specifically as main roles, because that would take most of his time), and it's been almost 2 years now he took that break to pursue other things, he has many things he wanna do before he turned 30. And he did achieved many things - first art exhibition (he recently said 2nd exhibition probably will be held next year), debuted in tpop boygroup DEXX (even won an award in China), his own brand BlackDaisy has been active more than ever (products launch every month, collab with established brand, consistently joining offline vendors events), etc. He also got casted as main lead in Chinese mini series, Twin Flames that has wrapped filming in May - still hasn't aired though. Next year, he will be in Mr Fanboy, the first villain role he ever played. So, safe to say I think he's doing everything he loves right now. He's reaching his goals one by one. I do hope he will have the time & opportunity to be a main lead in a regular length series again in future.

He never said he's quitting acting. He was taking a break from doing lengthy series. It's also has been more than a year since he took that break. I hope he will slowly get back to doing full series soon, but right now he's busy with his boygroup. Net already changed partner for a year already. To each their own but I like seeing James without partner, he seems more free and happy.
