I haven't seen this yet but I notice the duration of the film is 2 hours 30 minutes on this site but on iQiyi it is 1 hour 50 minutes. Wondering if it was cut down?
I wouldn't normally watch a soap type show but after watching a few episodes I became addicted like many others. The story was well written and planned out even though the plot was a little far-fetched. The first 20 episodes were epic, then it slowed, the pace picked up in the last 1/3rd of the show. I loved the odd error, particularly when they showed a green screen in the background where an office should have been shown. Maybe the show was filmed quickly and wasn't fixed in post-production. I like the age range of characters, the mix of strong female characters, there was humour thrown in and poking fun itself a little in the final episode. The last episode wrapped the story line up pretty nicely. If there was another soap of this quality, with lost of twists and turns, I might watch it.
I thought the basics of the storyline were good however I think it needed some padding out to help things flow easier. It was generally good though, maybe they can tidy things up for the 2nd season. I am watching A Man in a Veil as a result of seeing Lee Shi Kang in this.
I'm gradually watching season 2. The story doesn't move as fast as season 1, in parts it's quite boring. I have about 7 more episodes left, can I make it? Hopefully, season 3 is more action orientated.
I almost gave up on this drama until it started to find it's feet. Arthur Chen, I thought, was better in this than Ever Night, maybe it was a more grown-up script. Chu Min was our favourite character, Wang Jia Ning was perfect for the role. Action sequences were good. The incidental music for the comical moments was a little annoying. There were gaps in some episodes, I thought maybe they need to reduce the number of episodes to force them into a more free-flowing script. It was very watchable.
I've only just started watching this but looks pretty good. They could have tightened up some little gaps during the show where there seemed to be a slight quiet gap. The age range and gender of the main cast is welcome, strong female characters is always a big plus.
I did watch part of ep 1, looks good, but like others I will wait until the whole series is subbed. Did I see Tender Huang in the series intro? Didn't see him listed in the cast and credits here.
I'm halfway through ep 6 or 12. This drama is very sweet and cuddly. Every interaction by Adachi and Kurosawa is so closely focused, you are on the edge of your seat as to what each of their reaction is going to be. It's also very positive storytelling with no violence, drugs, drunkenness or profanities; just a great script that is magically executed on screen.
I couldn't get through the whole movie. The first 15 minutes, especially in the locker room, was a repeat of many films before that I couldn't bring myself to re-experience again. I personally saw so much of that happen in the 1960s/70s it's tough for me to watch that play out on screen. The only Taiwan film/tv production I have given up on however pleased for the actors and production crew that it has drawn so much attention and success for them.
This film was zany and weird, very over the top, to say the least. Half way through I almost turned it off but actually did make it through the entire 1 hr 40 minutes.
It felt as though this film was on a low budget but the storyline was good. It was a little slow at first but it developed fairly quickly after the first 15-20 minutes. I would recommend it.
Saw the first episode today. Appears to be a special effects extravaganza but with an exciting storyline with some comedy. Very decent production, we liked it a lot.
I did plan to watch this but pleased I read the reviews here first. According to the biographies it might have been the actors first TV work so its a shame for them to have to be wrapped up in this controversy.
