Am I the only one who’s definitively bored by this K-drama? There are way too many characters who don’t get…
i like it, i like the slice of life vibe with many interesting characters. but since the drama is only 12 episodes long, it makes me fear that there will be a rushed ending or not enough screentime for all the stories 😭
1. interesting choice to make her a hair stylist, i wonder if there's a story behind it.
2. i think jaepil is an interesting character but honestly from what we've seen he's always really been in his own world and still doesn't understand the depth of the girls' friendship and the backgrounds they come from. for example, jeonghyun is also from a wealthy background, but his presence never felt that way and he's always been very down to earth with the ko family. jaepil in comparison felt like he thought about himself first, how jeonghui made him feel less pain, how he wanted her to surround him, etc. he seems very one-dimensional, i guess? idk i'd like to hear what others think
3. sangcheol might end up with jeongbun because it seems her child will play a role in the timeskip plot
4. i hope yeongsik is a lawyer by now, and jeonghui is an actress, and they somehow have some interactions
5. i thought it was cute that yeongrye called jeonghyun her daddy-long-legs, because she gave him that nickname without even realizing the actual depth at which he has secretly helped her. i still don't like that he calls her ugly or whatever, but i'm hoping we see some character development.
6. sad that we won't see the ko children as little youngins anymore, but excited to see if there will be a cute middle school romance for seri and yeongbae
Atp I lost hope in finding a historical time travel kdrama where the final episode doesn’t make me hate the…
i agree lol, i think live up to your name is the only happy ending historical time travel ive enjoyed until the end. the ending for this drama honestly made me more upset than scarlet heart just because of how rushed it was and how many gaps it had
Liked that ending just wish we got more descended doppelgangers in the present😢especially court lady Choi😭…
oh my god we had the exact same endgames LMFAOO i didn't think anyone else would see the potential in the bodyguard x gonggil. i think there's potential for a spin off series with these four as lead characters and the story shows what happens in the past after the king and yiyeong have both gone off to the future
defensive was the wrong word to use, i didnt mean it like an attack, sorry about that. i meant it more that you don't have to explain or provide context on the drama's behalf, because it's normal for some of the viewers to have certain opinions of the drama if the writing of the final episode wasn't that great. i now see you were trying to be helpful, but my first impression was that you were saying that the people complaining were "confused" about the ending when they shouldn't be because there were enough clues to derive an explanation from. but you've already replied that you were also upset about certain aspects of the ending, so I interpreted your reply wrong.
yeah, i don't mind, just thought the line was a funny attempt at getting away with including a solid explanation. i think there are enough clues to theorize anyways
okay I apologize for that, I appreciate you replying with extra context, because if I hadn't seen the tweet already, it would've been helpful. you don't have to apologize for replying to my comment, mdl is a platform to have these kinds of discourses so I didn't mind it at all.
sorry, i didn't mean it like you were attacking me, but just saying you don't have to overexplain on behalf of the drama because it really isn't that serious in the end. my original comment was just making fun of the silly line they wrote for yiyeong to say.
but overall, if people are not fulfilled with the ending, i think they should be allowed to complain, because we aren't responsible to hunt down the novel epilogue to satiate our questions. like i said, i don't mind this kind of ending where we theorize for ourselves using the clues they've given, but its natural for some people to be upset.
ive already seen this tweet, it still leaves many questions unanswered. from my understanding the novel also doesn't fully explain how he travels to the present so the drama chose to do the same thing. i don't mind that they didn't show how he traveled to the present, it was kind of expected anyways, but i thought that line was funny "how did he get here? thats not important." lmaooo
ngl i think the most unbelievable thing they did wasnt even lee heons unexplained appearance but his demented…
i was laughing so hard at that scene lol, it's not even like it's a nostalgic taste, she just introduced the old lady to a treat that had more sugar than shes probably consumed in her whole life LMAO
Can someone clarify why the murdered deposed queen (Yi Heon's mother) was killed? I feel like I must have missed…
in the history that this drama is based off of, the king allegedly had her killed over a very small incident where she scratched his face because he was giving more attention to his other concubines and she was jealous. he got angry and had her executed, and i guess the concubines as well as court officials encouraged the king to do so, saying she was "violent" and not fit to be the queen, making them complicit as well.
her son had no idea that his father killed his mother because he was only a child when it happened, and he was told she died from illness or some other natural cause. it was only shortly after he became king (after his father passed from illness), that he found out she was actually killed by his father. after that he began to investigate the true reason for his mother's passing
"how he got here? thats not important." just say the screenwriter couldnt think of a proper method lol…
i wish jiyoung went and tried researching the fate of her friends who she left behind.. i still think gilgeum is meant to be janggeum, the famous royal physician. i propose a spin off drama where gilgeum is the lead and we see her journey after jiyoung travels back, no fantasy needed, just pure historical comedy romance adventure
"how he got here? thats not important." just say the screenwriter couldnt think of a proper method lol (my theory was he traveled using the ripped page)
also was the actual sword gash still on her back? were the doctors not confused how she got it?
anyone who has read the webtoon can you confirm, is gilgeums character based on dae jang geum, the famous royal physician who served yeonsanguns half brother once he took the throne? my theory is that yiheon will travel to the present to search for jiyeong, letting his half brother take the throne. gilgeum will be promoted from her royal kitchen position to become a royal physician because her amazing nose and cutting skills will make her a great and precise medic (just as dae janggeum was promoted from her cooking position to royal physician). i think gonggil will perish trying to assassinate consort kang, and gilgeum will end up with maeng chef
bro what the heck the boy was just having a seizure the whole time she was cooking??? 😭😭at least they didn’t add the cgi effects when he tasted the dish this time
yess! sounds really interesting. i had the opportunity to watch this in theaters near me back in june, but there was rainstorm that day and i ended up not going, I really regret it now haha
Heyy friend! Good to know u r watching this one! I'm (impatiently) waiting for it to finish airing while trying…
hey frienddd! im really enjoying this, i started mainly because i really love jeon seongwoo. so sorry if this comment spoiled anything for you, i'll mark with spoiler 😭😭
