Wow, this question deserves an essay, but I don't have time. Here's my quick and dirty bullet points/list, and…
I think your comment helped me understand my assumptions on the matter: Villains - so far nothing special for me, super common. Couple chemistry - it's good, but I'd say there weren't enough moments to solidify it well at the beginning; for me, they fell short in that aspect. Story - it's fun, but I feel they could have focused more on the male protagonist's side; so far, FL is carrying the drama on her shoulders. Fight scenes - aside from the fact that the direction is great, I didn't find them that good. There's good work in terms of visuals, but the choreography, in my opinion, isn't that interesting. Thank you for commenting!

The second option is my problem then. I think the story is still developing to deserve this current average, but I understand your points. I just believe that when people want to, they here on MDL tend to overemphasize minor problems in their ratings, and conversely, this isn't as constructive a start as I've seen so far. I wouldn't say it's mediocre, as it has excellent points, but for an average of 9, I really expected to see a great build-up from the beginning. I think slower starts are valid; they help with character attachment, but for example, ML hasn't been very convincing in that regard yet for me. FL is carrying the drama on its shoulders so far, and at this point (6 hours of content consumed), I expected a little more from it.

1) the face cards - leads and supporting casts2) ML and FL have huge fan base each3) the storyline, the scenery,…
It's just that normally when I see average ratings above 9 here, I expect a very absurd and elaborate story, or at least something super captivating in terms of entertainment. It's not bad at all, but I wouldn't say it's the best based on the 5 I've seen. 😭🤣

Help me understand, I've only finished one C-drama so far, and currently I'm watching some of the most beloved classics. Could you explain why this one is being so well-received? Is it based on a very popular story? Is the director very famous? Are the actors from the upper class in China? What explains all this hype? I'm on episode 10, it's fun and good, but nothing that explains the high rating here on MDL. I'm finishing the first quarter of the story and, aside from the amazing cinematography, nothing seemed so unusual that I could understand the reason for such a positive reception from the public. Literally, the girl rescued the guy, we find out who the guy is, and that's it. (I must have missed something by not having seen many C-dramas yet, help me understand.)

because she treats it for dating experience as someone who just broke up, while her friend treats it as a game…
Everyone should at least try to explore more of the possibilities, regardless of usage style. As far as I could tell, this device seemed like something completely new. Tell me, if they released one of these and you bought it, wouldn't you be curious about the possibilities?

It's difficult to understand what you're talking about with your account being empty, but I'll trust your word, let's see if anything happens in that regard.

It's in the testing phase, so you can't really complain about the limitations if that's really the case (which is very likely).

A critique (I'm still on episode 5): why didn't Jisoo's character test the experiment? Nothing against it, but I think adding a touch of realism would make it more interesting. I mean, in terms of curiosity about this signature, the first thing I would test would be doing things unexpected by the system, for example: changing the tone of the narrative in the selected world, insulting the characters, making fun of them. I thought that her being a beta test would help build more of her personality. They could have used that to create this atmosphere until she reached her ideal type, instead of making her the second one right away. (Maybe it's more personal than anything else, but I'd like to see this same universe but with a crazier protagonist, it would be so funny!)

This drama made me realize why I can't have too many favorite actors in the same story; it becomes impossible to have a preference. 🤣

They were really clever with this one, they made the characters superficial, but you can't complain since they're based on webtoon characters who are exactly like that in 90% of cases, super fun, they nailed it! 😭🤣

On Moving Season 2 Jan 28, 2026
The Recast can be sad, i understand that people are a little bit angry about that, but let's be real, a cast like this in more than one season? It was obvious this was going to happen; if it doesn't, you'll be like in "All of Us Are Dead," where every time a new comment pops up complaining about the delay in releasing a new season, even knowing that the cast is very difficult to reunite. It's impossible to change an entire production because of one actor, and it's even more complicated to expect the writers to alter the narrative just to avoid replacing him. Where have you ever seen an essential character erased in a sequel? In my opinion, they should change the pairing. I don't like what they did in Arthdal Chronicles, but at least there won't be that painful feeling of seeing the actress acting opposite a completely different guy. Even the chemistry will be awkward if they don't know how to recast. (My choice would be Park Ji-Hoon for this role; there aren't many leading men who fit that profile these days.)

Person Cha Seo Won
Spring Fever is awful, but you were a real find. Last year around this same time I met Lee Jun Hyuk, and the funny thing is that when you appeared you reminded me a lot of him. There's a lot of potential here, I hope you get a chance to shine. I thought he'd be older, but there's plenty of fuel left in the tank for this next decade.

At this point, if my rating after these last two weeks is above 4, that's already a win! What a shame they wasted the younger cast like that.

I might be crazy, but this drama has the dumbest protagonist in history. I'm not going to drop it because I promised myself I'd watch everything I start this year, but it really seems like the story is wasting screen time explaining things that anyone with a minimum of brainpower would understand. In episode 3, the protagonist, who is supposedly a soccer player, doesn't know what financial fair play is, simply to serve as a prop for the explanation to be presented to the audience. I don't mind them explaining it since many people may not even like soccer, but this way it's pure carelessness. Another thing: when they're at his house in episode 4 and "that" happens with her, he simply asks her to explain something that's already implied. I hope it doesn't continue like this; these stories made for the audience to watch while doing something else are becoming unbearable.
