negativity, when dramas aren't even out yet, is so pointless. go direct that energy elsewhere! anyway. I'm excited to see this and it's always interesting to see how adaptions from webtoons turn out,
It simply took Shiyi a while to notice his feelings for her, but he started liking her as far back as senior year…
True! I agree. That's a good observation of how ML and SML differ in "love languages" based on their upbringings.
There's also the way Shiyi would do things like sending Xiaoju's little brother away while Cheng Lang was tutoring her so she could focus better. It's the little things that someone may or may not notice right away, but it's still obvious he cares. Like in ep. 9 when she runs away from home to college early, he goes to get her a mattress and thermos flask. He might tease with words, but his actions go a long way. I haven't finished yet either but I still think it's interesting to note.
on ep 17 with the eng subs now, and i'm dying waiting for episode 18 for real. i was actually hoping for cheng lang and lin you to get together not because i ship them but because i thought it might help xiaoju get over him faster but i guess it wasn't meant to be for right now.
also, i live for shiyi and xiaoju's scenes, i want them to be together very badly. i have to say that i think people are being a bit unfair with bashing her for not noticing his crush on her. considering the fact that they've been friends since their senior year of high school and although he helps her like a LOT, she could still be viewing what they have as platonic. esp when you consider the way he teases her too. not EVERY m/f friendship has to turn romantic, but in their case, feelings have developed naturally and not overnight or anything on his side. he viewed her as a friend first before his crush started, which i love.
anyways, all i'm saying is shiyi never intended to approach her in a romantic way, it just slowly turned into that as his feelings grew. and since she's unaware of this, she doesn't think anything has changed between them. since it's only episode 17 for me i don't know how much longer she'll be unaware, i'm just saying it makes sense how from her pov they have a close friendship only.
this is so weird i've never seen any other series where they remake something and give the ml from the drama the lead but not the fl the same role. i'm curious does anyone know like.. why this exists? lol
