I saw a comment sometime last week that I think this will refute. I am not saying. One thing that stands out with Jin Mai is that she has this natural aura that makes her approachable. It is no wonder Zhang Ling He loves being around her. He looks happy when he is around her as if he is having fun. I don't know how anyone could ever question the compatibility of the visuals. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1093632938906641
I think it should have been more. 6 is good or average?
Exactly! I expect the antis to come in or some just don't like it, but the support was not there from where expected and this is the worse forum I have ever experienced in terms of balance. I pointed out that it is sad some did not not acknowledge ZLH's outstanding emotional performance. Some have commented that they almost did not watch due to the negative comments in this forum but glad they did. It is a travesty that the negative reviews have been upvoted with the space of a few hours since I last saw them.
Honestly this drama is a good example of "less is more". ZLH may have had limited screentime but he truly…
I am surprised more people didn't talk about ZLH's performance. In ep 15, I felt his emotions and I knew he did not want to leave Cherry. He looked as if he was losing his life line and took her necklace in desperation for a link. After watching him use his last ounce of strength to leave her behind, I came in here only to see people angry and JQX for lying. I know perceptions are different, but I could not feel any anger to someone who was in such pain in giving up the person who lit up his life.

It is not bad at all considering the bashing it received even from those who you expect to give support. For comparison sake, TBT opened with a score of 6.4 and TFF opened with 5.4. TFF is a masterpiece.
It broke my heart to see the emotions as he struggled with tears in ep 15.
When I saw the Titanic cds, I thought of love and sacrifice. I think it was significant because he told her he would not leave but he felt he had to make the sacrifice to protect her. The scene in Titanic when Jack puts Rose on the debris to keep her afloat while he gave up his life to protect her comes to mind. I don't remember if it was explained but I am watching again now.
The wall with news about the earthquakes and the certificate he received, her pictures, his birthday wishes to her all gave her a vision of his life while he was missing. It gave an even more emotions view than the deleted scene with his unsent texts to her. I feel the director wanted to create space and mystery by not showing any of JQX's like in HK in the previous episodes.
Is it a HE ? Plus I don't get the same vibe the CP produced in The Princess Royal
It is a HE. TPR had an old married couple vibe and second chance at love between married couples. OG shows growth from youth to adulthood, friendship and family, finding true identity and love. There is angst but not overly so.
I woke up a few days ago and all the negatives were at the top and all the positives/high rated with lots of likes…
As I found myself pausing at parts and rewatching just to listen to the words, especially in ep 21, where Jin Mai's speech delivery was flawless. The words were so beautiful, I wanted to listen to them again. Zhang Ling He's performance, especially in the Hong Kong arc, was outstanding. I could feel his emotions. It was almost as if he became Jiang Qiao Xi completely.
While I understand that some of the reviews are from people who just didn't vibe with this drama, it is suspicious that all the negative reviews were pushed to the top by upvoting. The fact that all the episodes were rated with 1s long before the drama ended, and the constant bashing of OG, not only by some who could be called the anti-fan, but by the fans themselves, made this forum unusually unbalanced. None of these people cared about the style and genre.
Hey do you know what's the name of the OST that's played during YT and JQX's Hong Kong initial dating montage?…
Someone told me to make a comment but I was done talking to them days ago. I also felt it was inappropriate for them to bring it in here as someone told them. They were acting so childlish and the things they said was like putting words in my mouth.
I know some cannot see tik tok. Sorry.

Thank you for your insight. Well said!
