The director for The Double got scolded for the ending. And in BEITD, Johnny Huang did a live stream saying his character did not die because viewers were outraged. People were so mad the rating dropped before 8 here. I went round and round with that ending to convince myself he was still alive. I even wrote and analysis of the final scene. I remember the BEITD forum being a really nice group because nobody was really hateful. They were just disappointed.

Ever since BEITD, I have been wary. Look at The Double. Good thing they added in the extra episode.

I ask the same question. You would think they know we want it to end well.

I had a similar experience with another drama where the ending was changed from the happy ending in the book to an open ending but I felt it was worth the watch.

I read your review just now and now I want to watch. You write so well! Now I want to know how the two leads came to love each other. Have you seen Bright Eyes in the Dark? I gave it a rating of 10 before seeing the ending which was disappointing but beautiful. I was so mad they changed the happy novel ending to an "open" ending for creativity. But I did not lower my rating as I loved it.

Your review makes me want to watch even though I rather not watch sad endings. However, your description of the leads makes me curious to watch the dynamics. I will keep this on the side to watch when I am ready. I must say the FL is beautiful.

You posted a report last week about the July Maoyan online drama effective broadcast monthly list. The fact that TPR was #1 for the month of July shows the negative comments here are not a good indication of its success.

LOL! I keep going from "producer" to "director." The only video I saw was when one of them said they waited for ZLH to be available and they also mentioned Jin Mai's acting skills and speech delivery as factors for choosing her as the FL. I was surprised when I saw TPR was out as I didn't keep up with any of the news. I only added it to my list.

I am wary of open endings. I tell myself to wait till it is over. I can put up with flaws as long a there is a happy ending. There is usually a character people hate but I don't know if I have ever seen a drama get as much hate as TPR. I think people are more mad at the producer. It wasn't until after I finished TPR that I saw there was a trending topic about the producer. I am sure it affected the perspective of those watching TPR and not liking SRQ.

Yes. Marcus said the drama standings are based on their 7 day total points from Vlinkage. My comment was just to say that TPR is still doing well as it is #8 of the top 10. I felt the need to make this comment considering the bashing TPR has been getting in here and in another forum. We have all seen it.

I have been reading comments about ZLH's character in LR which makes me want to start it but I am still going to wait before getting into it. I rather not be tortured waiting for the next episode. I could not stop myself from starting TPR because of Mai Mai and ZLH but I wish I had held off and watched it on Netflix instead.

Marcus Here! is on youtube. He gives the reports on the web dramas and the tv dramas on Sundays. They are factual and based on Vlinkage as he explains every week.

Of the 10 dramas of the week, I have only watched TPR and knew of Love's Rebellion. I added The Best Day of My Life to my list after seeing it on Marcus Here and reading a review from a friend. I cannot recall the other names. All I know is that TPR was #1 while airing for weeks and happy to see it is still in the top 10.

And he is still in character in his livestreams with Mai Mai! He is so funny and wonderful to watch!
