Okay so I’ve watched 18 episodes now and I have to say about the female lead I read a lot of comments about they can’t stand her and tbh I’m a little confused. I’m not even kidding when I say her screen time is the equivalent to like one whole episode. And when she is there she’s not really that annoying just playing along with her shenanigans. The only time I really found her annoying was when she got in the way of Huaiqing trying to save Xu Qian but then she made up for it later. To be fair she seems more like a supporting character than anything else. More like a witty best friend for the mc since both of them have the same mentality they are both opportunistic. However I felt like Cai Wei has more chemistry with him and honestly feels like a female lead more. I read that this book is a harem but that he ultimately ends up with Li An so I feel like that’s why she doesn’t really have a prominent appearance.
And about the romance well I’ve watched 18 episodes and I haven’t seen any romance lol the mc has showed zero romantic interest so far in anyone. Considering the book has a lot of chapters there’s a chance for a season two unless they cram everything into one season I’d expect the romance to come much much later down the line. Also the misunderstanding is a bit annoying but it’s quite entertaining.
Anyways my conclusion is that sometimes you shouldn’t judge based off of comment because the female lead is really like a side character honestly. She’s not even in the first 6 episodes and her appearances only last like 5 minutes whenever she does. She’s not really annoying tbh neither do I think she is spoiled. She is just desperate for acknowledgment. The only thing I agree with is that it’s true it really doesn’t feel like she’s a female lead and I think the book initially being a harem is why it feels like that. Anyways this is probably the funniest show I’ve watched in a long time really enjoying it.
Needless to say though I disagree with others I believe that Li An is great fit for Mc because of there characters especially that episode showing just how parallel they were to each other so I would like some development between them later down the line. I think there is a period of time where her character is just gone so it will be even less. This is not a romance centric story so this might now be fore you
This is a really great drama is unfortunate people are so childish and you can already see what demographic they are from. You should never direct such pathetic insults toward these actors who worked hard on a drama. You should be directing your energy toward the screenwriter if you have such an issue. It’s really pathetic especially toward an actor who wasn’t even in the scene, you know actors receive scripts where they are needed and most read them right before they take the scene. Such a really great suffering from immature people who don’t know how to direct there complaints at the source instead they go attack people who have nothing to do with.
If it takes 19 episodes for a character to become likable that’s a problem lol. 19 episodes is too long. Anyways how is the romance I’ve just started but I don’t really care for the romance. Is it important. I saw xiwei is the female lead so I’m guessing she must be relevant or is she just another character simply there as a love interest for the mc with no other purpose. For once I’d actually like a valuable romance but they all just seem to get in the way of story especially when the writer seems to forget the plot and focuses the entire story on romance. I’ve seen too many shows do this.
I’m a new fan to Dylan wang so I’m excited to watch for him and this seems like a really cool show I’d just hate for the plot to end up doing a 180 down the line. Anyways really excited to continue the rest of the episodes.
