Does anyone know in any of Xu Kai's interviews, was he ever asked to compare his role in Best Choice Ever? I've…
Yes, XK has explained it thoroughly in great detail and I've read a few write-ups on the differences between the two characters. His acting is very nuanced so either you see it or not see it but it shouldn't matter because people should just enjoy each drama on its own. The story is so different how can anyone mix up the dramas? I pasted some links and excerpts under discussion section.
"You texted me? I accidentally lost my phone that day." Does that sound like an excuse? Is she lying? Look at his face. Did HT believe her? Is it resolved?
Barely on episode 3 but what is up with this Director Zheng, I can’t figure her out, what is she always going…
Zeng Di you will find out later is a childhood friend of Han Ting's family. She basically grew up around HT. ZD's father is good friends with HT's grandfather and HT's grandfather selected ZD for HT but HT doesn't want to marry her. I think she might have gone to college with HT too but HT stayed in Germany to open up R&D branch. ZD wanted to help him, but he declined her help. It seems HT's project in Germany was a tough period in his life as no one though he can succeed there but he wanted to prove himself. She's always trying to inject herself into his life and help him wherever she can and he's okay with it, they're childhood friends and she is almost part of his family so he helps her and she helps him, and he is not in a committed relationship with another girl, and I think HT is the one with the idea for her start up (Ji Xing work there) and invested in it but the robot at Guangsha (if I spelled it right) was his concept and he told her what to do. I think that robot had its origins in the prototype he and Ji Xing won robot contest with. HT and ZD were always like this, a benefits relationship. In the novel, the dynamics are different, and she is not a family friend, and they have a mature open sexual relationship of four years and HT disapproving of her, same as in the drama, you can see, he is not interested in her beyond a friendship benefits relationship. The drama doesn't say if they ever were romantically involved but it is possible that he might have liked her at one time, and she grew out of favor with him. Definitely, he was no longer romantically interested in her after college since he declined her help to stay in Germany with him. But this explains why she can be so casual to spend time with him, like go to a play, have dinner, they are childhood friends with Grandpa's approval, and she likes to use Grandpa name whenever she wants to go out with him.
From ep 17, I can totally see XYX and LL having the same issue that causes our main leads to break up. XYX is…
Li Li's mother told her not to date rich men because they are unfaithful, but XYX is HT's partner and best friend, so I tend to think he is a good person.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I love the scenes with her employees...the recruiting process of employees…
If you enjoy those details, then you will most definitely enjoy the novel. It goes into great details about entrepreneurship/venture capitalists and the emergence and future of AI/robotics in medical products. Ji Xing's growth from an engineer to managing a start-up, and the difficulties she faces to launch a product. The novel is detail and educational. Most successful CEO's have great instincts, that gut feeling that guides them, and Ji Xing has what it takes. She is very ambitious, and she immediately recognize that she needed to learn from Han Ting. This mentoring really only happens when she runs into him and has an opportunity to talk to him, like when she has to update him, she is like a sponge absorbing everything he tells her and applies it to real life. She's a fast learner.
The business aspect of the show has been handled very well for the viewers, not too much that it gets boring and…
They did a good job of making the materials process realistic showing the real machines, the special gear they have to wear, the coding flashing across their monitors is realistic coding lines, the white board diagrams had realistic notations, the materials shown and the CAD designs, and the final prototype, as well as the technical problems and resolutions. They wrapped up these scenes so realistically and fast paced.
Well, ZD and JX's personalities are different, but also, their relationship with HT is also entirely different,…
Of course, she cannot succeed without his help with investment and networks he provided. She is not simply a software startup. The barriers to entry are enormous without resources. He knew her from the competition and has faith in her abilities but knows that she needs guidance to navigate the business world. He did not invest in her for personal reasons which will be revealed later in the story.
People like Ji Xing who were always at the top of their class and win competitions will be confident and have…
the ML has staked his reputation and career on the line for XingChen so he needs it to succeed but she has turned him down for help. Also, in the story, there is a bigger story behind his reason for investing in XingChen. You are right that she did get special attention from him mentoring and helping her establish networks and giving her a discount office space at Dongyang. But it's because of her talent that she got special treatment (plus he likes her). Han Ting would not help her simply because he likes her. The 3D printing is an area of special interest to him.
Sooo mid so far… I love the lead actress in other projects but this isn’t it… she’s too childish and overly…
People like Ji Xing who were always at the top of their class and win competitions will be confident and have high self-esteem. People who climb high are naturally arrogant. She was much younger in the novel but 28 is still young. Young people tend to be overly confident. Elon Musk was on the verge of losing Tesla due to manufacturing problems, so he slept on the manufacturing floor every day tending to every little problem himself. He did the same thing with Twitter. He slept there too until urgent issues were fixed. If XingChen had been run by an outsider, it would have failed.
I noticed ZD will make requests to HT for his help, but JX prefers to solve things on her own. it is because of JX's technical prowess that she was able to overcome unexpected emergencies because of the preparations she had in place.
I wonder if Han Ting has shown more emotions than he normally would because the directors were pressing him about XingChen. His cousin who is his rival took notice he is particularly sensitive when it comes to XingChen. The directors are gossiping about him which normally does not happen to him. It's setup. Somehow Han Yuan knows what's going on at XingChen.
The director is so wrong to say, "Ji Xing is just a technical guy and can't do management". The most amazing high-tech companies of our time continued to be led by bold visionary founders who were engineers first like Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, etc. especially in the case of medical products have life and death consequences, you really do need technical person at the top running things. Boeing used to be run by engineers at the top is currently run by finance people has seen airplane crashes and the doors falling off on their planes recently!!!
Also did I interpret correctly in episode 17? XYX appears to have a girlfriend that he was texting in the bathroom…
In ep 15, she even told the team that news of the broken printer had reached the attention of Dongyang Medical. She's nosy and gossips. When the printer had broken down, everyone is worried and she's putting lipstick on. This is foreshadowing that she's a bad character something will happen later with her that is not good.

Is she lying? Look at his face. Did HT believe her? Is it resolved?

JX: Thank you for trusting me.
HT would not waste his time on her if she is not capable.
