JoongDunk is a fan fave. So why is the production value of this series so low?

Writers... I can't remember the character names in this series because you forgot character development was a thing. I still call them Style and Fadel because those writers embedded those characters into our hearts forever.

Stylists... Why does everyone have Elvis hair? I can see the wig lines on their foreheads. It makes me yell at my TV.

Director... Wake up, bro. Were you lucid during filming? To be fair, I didn't expect THK without the Dream Team of Aof, Rath and Jojo. But the action in this series feels like it was generated by AI. No one acts that way. No one anywhere would sit perfectly still in a tub while being attacked. No one anywhere, in any genre.

Love them. Wanted more for them. Hope production improves in later episodes.

Two episodes in and I'm already running out of flags. Every character is a hot mess in a cute bunny onesie. Reckless one minute, calculated the next. Everyone knows but pretends not to know. I need to wash my hands. What a delicious mess. More, please and thank you.

The show is losing me to boredom at epi 8. I've hung in there long enough to conclude this is not going to get…
Yes, yes, and yes. Same for me. I'm holding on with my fingernails at this point because I genuinely enjoy these actors.

Production is excellent. Acting is good; some actors better than others. But the story never progresses. Some characters are irrelevant. Conflict and tension went missing. Dialogue is flat.

I think I know what you mean about the intimacy. It's not about the physical aspect. The vibe is "off" between Pooh and Pavel, both in the series and in fan-meets prior to the premiere. We know what "locked in" looks like with Pavel. He portrays intense feelings well. I swear he broke my heart a hundred times during emotional scenes in PB2. But Pavel is not feeling it in this series, for whatever reason. Acting is still top tier but the vibe is not vibing in some scenes.

The series has everything it needs to be phenomenal. It "almost" gets there a few times but it fumbles, every time. Episode 4 was excellent, so I can't figure out why none of the other episodes were written, acted, or directed in the same way.

Immediately, Pheem began testing Jira's tolerance for outrageous statements. Next, disarming Jira with incremental touch and closeness. This is ASPD behavior. Jira dives right in because normal is boring, right? This series is going to be fun. (Side note: Dew always gives me Kim Young Kwan vibes. Here, Dew feels like Kwan's character "Yuno" in the Korean series, Somebody.) (And another thing: Sound editing needs work. I could barely hear Koh over the hum in his condo.)

The dubcon is suffocating. Make it make sense. And the price? No. Barely a month's rent. Butane lighters and pinky rings suddenly became the dom/top signature set after Revenged Love? The same motifs were used in To My Shore.

Gap Dong is getting better after an agonizingly slow start (not enough Lee Joon though). It's up on gooddrama/dramago. I'll be getting back to Bride of the Century eventually, simply because I like the leads (really enjoyed Yang Jin Sung in "She is WOW"). Hotel King was so sloooow... it had a few good moments... but I gave up. Emergency Couple was cute! It took at least 6 eps to get going but I don't regret watching at all. Secret Love Affair with Yoo Ah In is really good, but it's moody and visual, typically saying a lot with very little dialogue. Watch it with wine and tissues! Witch's Romance looks promising - really liked the first two episodes. BTW, this Noona romance theme is out of control now -- the age gaps on these dramas are like 9 and 14 years! There's hope for us. LOL

Yep, born in 1974. It's great to find someone else on here of the same age. I'm a huge fan of all things BigBang too -- I flew to CA just to see them in concert. Lots of fans our age and older were in that line!

Nice to 'meet' you! Thanks for accepting my request. I'm a 1974-er too!

Half of the drama was well done, the other half was boring "filler". Something went very wrong after episode 11. The scriptwriter seemed to hit a brick wall (creatively) and could not figure out how to bring all of the story lines to a conclusion. There is no real ending; it just...stops...right in the middle of everything.
